[C] Blood

The needle piercing him was something he barely felt.

He gave a smile as he was praised, watching his blood enter the needle.

"Treat?"

He asked, tilting his head, if he was being so good then would he be allowed a treat?

"Da."

Lyo licked his lips in concentration as he switched out the syringe for another. He felt he should take four or five syringes full to appease Doc.

"Three new book."

He'd get him three or four new books for being such a good boy.

"Squeaky steak?"

He asked, there had been a squeaky steak toy that he had been eyeing at the pet store that Lyo said he could have if he was really good.

He hoped this counted as being a really good boy so that he could have the toy, especially now that he gave away his squeaky bone.

"Da, squeaky steak, too."

He was already drawing up the third needle now. He was glad that Tuzik wasn't moving much at all.

This was going by extremely quickly.

"Steak for dinner tonight."

If he hadn't been told to sit still he would have been wiggling happily in his seat.

New books, new toy and steak for dinner.

He was a very happy puppy right now.

He would have given blood sooner if he knew he would be getting all these special things.

Lyo placed down the last syringe on the tray and carefully removed the needle from Tuzik's arm.

He released the tourniquet and smiled at the pup, ruffling his hair gently.

"Very good boy. All done."

This meant that there was only one last thing to do and that was what Maks was out scouting right now.

Very soon he would have Maks back.

When the needle was pulled from his arm, he leaned down and licked it clean.

By the time he was done the tiny hole was gone.

He smiled up at Lyo, excited by the treats he had been promised.

"Missed you."

He replied as he nuzzled closer to the man.

"I missed you, too."

He hugged the Hound tight, smiling as he nuzzled against him.

The past few days without Tuzik had been strange. He didn't like not having the Hound around. Tuzik had been a constant companion for a long while now. A few days without him had definitely been strange.

"Blood?"

He asked, looking down at it, he was curious what the blood was for.

Happily though he cuddled against the man, he had wanted a cuddle from Lyo for a long while now.

Being away from him had been fun, but still strange.

"Is for someone so he will do thing for me."

He ruffled Tuzik's hair before pulling back and turning to the blood. He needed to bottle it up. He couldn't keep it in the syringes.

Lyo began transferring the blood from the syringes to the vials.

"What do you want with steak?"

Tuzik thought about that question for a while, what did he want with steak?

"Sausages!"

Meat went well with more meat.

"Bacon?"

Bacon, sausages and steak.

"No sausage. But bacon, yes."

Lyo collected together the vials and checked them over before carefully putting them in his pocket. He'd put them somewhere safe when they got back to their room.

"Potato? Onion ring?" He smirked. "Salad?"

Tuzik's face screwed up at the offer of salad, he didn't like salad, not at all.

"Onion ring."

He replied excitedly, he did like onion rings though, they were crunchy and tasty.

"Onion ring is vegetable like salad."

Let's blow out Tuzik's brain with that bit of news.

"Come. Let's go bedroom before kitchen." He wanted to make sure the blood would be safe before they cook dinner.

Leaving the mess for someone else to clean, Lyo headed back towards their room.

He needed to get a clean shirt, too.

"No."

He replied, shaking his head, it wasn't a vegetable, onion rings were like chippies, they were tasty treats.

Tuzik nodded and padded out of the room, following Alyosha toward their bedroom.

"Da," Lyo replied with a grin. "Is vegetable. Onion ring is salad."

Their room wasn't too far away, so pretty soon he was rifling through his wardrobe for a new shirt to pull on.

"Maks will be back soon."

Maks had been looking out at the morgue for a new suicide victim for them to acquire. He was hoping that Maks would find one quickly and make his way back to him so they could plot.

"No."

He replied again, he was determined that onion rings were not salad, he didn't like salad, he liked onion rings.

When they got back into the room, he climbed back onto the bed and curled up comfortably.

"Da." Lyo wasn't lying. Onions were salad. "You are eating salad."

He loved teasing the pup when he could. It was fun seeing him fight the truth with everything he was.

Lyo pulled on a shirt and carefully set the blood vials in the drawer of his bedside table.

No one would go in there.

As Tuzik writhed on the bed he wiggled out of his shirt, laying out comfortably.

He enjoyed being back home, it was peaceful and after the last two days he needed a bit of a rest.

Lyo sat on the edge of the bed and ruffled Tuzik's hair.

"Hungry?" He idly stroked down Tuzik's chest to scratch at his stomach. He ticked nad scratched at his stomach idly for a while, smiling to himself.

It was good to have Tuz back.

"Yes."

He replied, in perfect time for his stomach to growl loudly.

Tuzik was definitely hungry and ready for a rather large dinner.

The pup gave a happy whine as he was scratched, writhing under Lyo's touch.

"C'mon then."

He gave Tuzik's stomach a pat before he stood. "Hoodie on," he ordered as he made his way towards the door.

He'd be nice and let Tuz wear the hoodie. He liked the soft feeling of the fluff against his bare skin.

Tuzik rolled over sluggishly and went to his drawer.

He opened it up and pulled out his hoodie and shrugged it on.

He didn't protest as he put it on, he did enjoy the feeling of his hoodie.

Tuz padded after Lyo, eager to get some dinner in his tummy.

"Go get onion rings and potato wedges from freezer," Lyo said, pointing towards the freezer as he made his way to the fridge to get the steak.

Getting Tuz to help out in the kitchen kept the pup from getting bored while he waited and sometimes Tuz liked to help cook with him.

"Put down ice cream. No ice cream until after dinner," he called to the pup, with his back turned to the freezer. he knew Tuzik all too well.

Tuzik padded into the kitchen and moved to the freezer as instructed.

He paused as he was told off.

Lyo knew too well, as the man had said it the pup had been pulling off the lid to the chocolate ice-cream.

He gave a whine and put it back, grabbing what he had been told to get with a pout.
