Meeting the brothers

"He has probably started teething, that or he is hungry, you practically raised Moe, surely you know well enough that babies drool excessively."

He replied looking over at Aodh as he began playing with Luka, lifting the boy up so he could try standing on his own feet with the Vampire held him up.

Aeker smiled, bouncing the perfectly happy boy on his lap.

It was odd really, but Alexis’s body cuddling up against him like this was very comforting to Tahir. He felt shielded from the others, very secure with her in his lap.

“Oh…Heheh, right” He said in response to her correction. Gently he poked the baby boy’s tummy, not enough to bother him, but more to just feel the softness that was a baby. They were so squishy! Tahir smiled as he poked, his canines showing.

Alexis chuckled and shook her head, of course babies were pudgy, they were babies after all they weren't meant to be skinny, she would be worried if they were.

The Vampire gave a soft yawn, despite having only woken up a few hours prior.

She had no idea why she was so tired recently but curled up against Tahir with Cinaed cuddled up in her arms had her immensely relaxed.

Despite her efforts she quickly drifted off in his arms, her head gently resting against his shoulder.

"Alek usually took her off me when she started drooling."

Alek had done the nasty parts of raising Moe. He'd been the one to clean up the poop and wipe off the drool. Aodh got to do the fun parts like teaching her how to cook and hunt.

His nose wrinkled. "Baby drool is gross, anyway."

He didn't like drool at the best of times; being dribbled all over was not on his list of thing to do.

The Lycan leaned over to give Luka a kiss on the forehead, stroking his dark hair lovingly. As long as he didn't have to deal with drool, he loved being around babies.

"It isn't that bad, you're such a drama queen."

He replied, rolling his eyes slightly, yes it wasn't overly pleasant but it wasn't the foulest thing he could imagine.

"Here, he isn't drooling anymore, though I would make the most of it."

Chances were he would drool again sooner or later, though for now, Aodh would play with him.

The Vampire handed Luka over so he could have his play with the pup.

As soon as Tahir realized that Alexis had fallen asleep he tensed up a little. He didn't know what to do really. Here he was in a house full of people he didn't really know, one of which he didn't particularly like all that much, and he was pretty certain didn't like him either.

It looked like the red headed baby had fallen asleep on Alexis's chest as well, her arms cradling the pup protectively while she slept.

Tahir cradled her in return, one hand idly stroking through her long silver hair as he stared off into nothingness.

His gut churned as his thoughts got carried away. What if Aodh temper flared and he tried to kill someone again? He would step in just as he did before, even if it meant him getting hurt instead. He could deal with getting in fights and attaining wounds.

But now that Alexis was involved that made things so much more complicated. He knew he had to talk to her about this, let her know how exactly he was feeling and what had happened all those months ago.

In the meantime he just stared ahead, looking blank and lost in his thoughts while Alexis and the baby rested in his lap.

"They used to drool a Hell of a lot more back then."

Babies were a lot more susceptible to illness than healthy Lycan adults were. There was always something going around back then and Moe picked quite a few nasty things up.

In her earlier years, she was always throwing up or pooing or drooling excessively.

The Lycan grinned and picked Luka up, making plane noises as he made the boy 'fly.'

Aodh could be just as much of a child as Luka was.

"I can imagine, nice drooling pups smearing their slobber all over you."
He teased with a wide grin, grossing Aodh out was so easy and very entertaining.

Aeker smile as he gazed over at Tahir and Alexis, they seemed like a nice pair despite the issues with Aodh.

"Has Alexis fallen asleep?"
He asked gazing over at her, that was rather unusual, it was only early evening and she was usually so alert.

"Perhaps she grew bored of our company."
He added with a chuckle, shaking his head.

Tahir looked over at Aeker, moving his head slowly as to not make any swift actions and wake the sleeping people on his lap up. He still leisurely continued to run his fingers through her hair though.

"She's been like this a lot as of late." He admitted quietly, his voice low and rough sounding.

"I'm not sure why either. She keeps telling me it's nothing but... I don't know." He said with a sigh, leaning his lips down to rest on the top of her head in a gentle kiss.

Tahir didn't know vampire physiology, but Aeker of course did. Maybe he had a better idea as to what could be wrong with his twin sister?

Aodh shuddered in disgust.

"And all the poop and sick. Babies weren't pretty back then." He nuzzled up against Luka with a little smile. Babies now weren't so bad. They still did all of these things but not so often. Much more tolerable.

"Quick, Aeker, steal Cinaed back while you have the chance."

His lips quirked upwards a little as he looked at Alexis and Cinaed sleeping together. They were cute together. Lex looked good with a baby in her arms.

Aeker rose from his seat and padded over to where Tahir sat, cradling his sleeping sister.

He pressed a hand to the Vampire's forehead, kneeling over to check her face and pulse, everything seemed normal enough, she was just tired.

His eyes caught the mark on the Lycan's neck and a small smile appeared on his lips.

Tahir was up and walking around so she couldn't have taken too much blood from him, not enough to risk poisoning.

"I think she has just been working too hard, she need a long sleep, perhaps you should take her back to bed."

He replied, taking Cinaed from her arms.

"I wouldn't be too worried Tahir but if she doesn't start perking up I'd go see Giacinto."

A warm smile spread across his face as he placed a hand on Tahir's shoulder.

"Congratulations, I know the two of you will be happy together, welcome to our rather dysfunctional family."

He added, his hand gracing over the bite marks on the Lycan's neck.

Tahir felt a wave of relief come over him as Aeker inspected his sister and came to the conclusion that there wasn't anything to worry about in the meantime. Yes, Alexis had said this a few times before, but hearing it from someone else was very reassuring.

A small smile came to the Persian man's face when the vampire acknowledged him as being a new part of the family. He nodded in response, a silent way of saying "thank you."

Standing up with Alexis in his arms, he said his goodbyes and then made his way back to the mansion, being sure to walk with a gentle pace as to not disturb her slumber.
