Lycans and the Full Moon

He answered with a soft growl as he glared over at Coilean.
Zeke was at least grateful that the rest of the pack were quite fond of him, it made threats so much easier.

I guess I'll go break Aodh's other legs if I get bored.

That was a decent thought. He wouldn't mind snapping a few bones. Aodh, of course, was always at the top of his victim list.

Maybe he'd break Aodh's leg, make sure it set wrong then break it again...

Zeke chuckled softly and shook his head.

I almost feel sorry for Aodh, he seems to be everyone's favourite chew toy.
Better him than me I suppose.

He grinned softly, his tongue lulling out the side of his mouth lazily.

He's an annoying little shit with a big mouth, was the older man's off hand comment.

Aodh was by far the most favourite chew toy of the pack.

Even the younger wolves from the main pack liked to attack the cocky Beta.

Nothing like brotherly love, though I agree he does ask for it most of the time, his temper will be the end of him.

Like Zeke could talk, his temper was just as bad as Aodh's.
When it came to asking for a beating he and Aodh were on par with each other.

His shoulders heaved in a shrug.

He and Aodh did have a lot of love for each other; they just bickered like cantankerous children.

But he couldn't help but to agree. If Aodh kept up stepping on toes like he did he'd be dead pretty damned soon.

He was strong, yes, but he wasn't invincible.

Zeke looked around at the forest, the sun would be rising soon, he couldn't help but wonder if Moe was alright.

He knew she could walk on her leg now that he had relocated it but he had not liked leaving her out in the forest all by herself. Perhaps she was still there taking a nap or would she got back to mansion?

Coilean's eyes flickered up when Zeke looked around.

He hadn't heard anything that could alert him to any damage so he was looking for something or someone.

Someone, he guessed. Moe.

Another howl - more pained than the last two sounded.

She'd attacking Aodh, he murmured.

Zeke chuckled softly.

She must be feeling better then, though I doubt anything would stop her from picking a fight with someone on a full moon.

He knew their little game of cat and mouse was hardly going at satisfy her yearning for a good brawl tonight.

Feeling better? What had happened to make her feel less than okay in the first place?

His eyes pierced Zeke harshly, waiting for an answer, excuse or apology.

Which one would the pup give him?

Zeke sighed softly, he had walked into that one, he had no choice but to tell him now even if Moe ended up embarrassed.

We were having a scuffle when she got away from me and decided it was a good idea to climb up a tree, there was no way I would be able to get to her so I decided to wait in a clearing until she got bored and came down, except she fell asleep and fell out of the tree.
She dislocated her shoulder but it's fine now.

He stayed silent after Zeke spoke.

The silence was broken after a few long minutes.

Coilean laughed.

Loudly.

She fell out of a tree? A snort shook his body. She fell asleep and fell out of a tree? Moe definitely wasn't going to live this one down.

A smirk twitched in the corner of his lips, it definitely was not one of Moe's brightest ideas.

Would of been a good idea, since I could not get to her and she had the high ground but yeah the whole falling asleep ruined it for her.

Zeke struggled to defend her and instead chuckled and shook his head.

She's not usually that clumsy.

His tail curled around him as he stared off into the distance. What could make her fall out of a tree while she was asleep? She usually slept like the dead unless...

She must have had another nightmare.

Was she still having them after two hundred years?

No she's not is she, she didn't say why she fell out, to be honest she was less than talkative when I found her on the floor.

Zeke brought his leg up to scratch the back of his head softly.
He had not thought about why she had fallen out, he was too busy trying not to piss her off while fixing her shoulder.

She was?

That wasn't much like Moe, either. She was talkative and bubbly; she always had something to say.

He was certain that Moe had suffered another nightmare now.

And now he was worried about how often she'd been having these nightmares.

No she just kind of laid their scowling like a child, I dismissed it earlier because I figured it was just the full moon making her moody but now I am not so sure.

He was almost positive that something else had to be upsetting Moe at the moment.

He growled under his breath in Irish as he shifted to lie on his side.

The man only had one word that would explain why the girl had been so grumpy and silent with her... fiancé. Yup, that word still left a bad taste n his mouth, even when he was thinking it.

Zeke eyed the older lycan, clearly he knew what was upsetting Moe.

What do you mean by that, I though you said that you killed the guy.

He replied, a soft growl rumbling in his chest.

Oh, I did. Slowly and painfully.

He had definitely killed the little shit.

But you can't easily forget what he did. It was traumatising. And she was only a girl when it happened.

And where can the dead plague you?

His eyes flickered up to meet Zeke's.

Nightmares.

Zeke's eyes widened slightly.

Moe came to me the other night complaining about nightmares but I thought it was just that one time, it was my first night out of the infirmary and she said it was about the battle with Alexis.

He replied, shaking his head softly, Zeke really needed to talk to her and find out exactly what this man had done to her.

She's always suffered nightmares. His mind filled with memories of his daughter crawling into his hammock in the middle of the night on the ship or curling against his side while they were on land.

Things may not seem to phase her outwardly and she goes on as normal. I'll bet the next time you see her, she'll yell out 'Zeke-kun,' jump off her barely recognisable uncle and go to give you a hug.

He sighed heavily.

But she's not unphased by the things that happen to her. She relives them in nightmares. They tease and taunt her and make her feel like she's useless and weak and pathetic.

Zeke nodded softly.

I'll remember that.
I tried to comfort her last time he came to me distressed but it's difficult trying to make her see the opposite.
She's a strong woman and it pains me to knowing that she can not see it.

He sighed and shook his head.

Recurring nightmares of any kind make you feel weak. She's had them for almost her entire life. And they're not little things like my recurring nightmares were.

He was terrified of the wildcats his brother used to play with and he used to get nightmares almost every night of the cats attacking him.

Even now he'd get the odd night where he still dreamed it. Being attacked by cats wasn't scary now. He got over it after he became a Lycan and so he began laughing at himself.

Moe couldn't do that with what she went through.

I see, I guess in that case there is not much we can do to stop them.

He sighed softly, he hated not being able to help Moe when she needed, even more so taking into the account that these dreams had haunted her for so long.

He gazed to the direction of where Moe and Aodh must be, he wanted to go to her and find out exactly what had happened to her, if she was willing to tell him.
