Lycans and the Full Moon

Zeke lay against a tree on the edge of the forest, he had been on edge all day after talking to Alek, and the full moon wasn't helping.
He should of been locked in his room with his heavy metal turned up to the point of being deafening, not out in the forest with other wolves.

He looked up, glaring at the full moon, his foot tapping the ground rapidly, he was full of energy, that mixed with the edginess of his mood was not a good combination.

As she usually was, Moe was the first of the family in the forest.

She waved between trees silently, looking for a good clearing to fight in. She had always been designated venue-finder before she left to Japan.

The woman's tail wagged as she caught sight of Zeke and she fell low, crawling along the ground towards him slowly, trying not to draw attention to herself.

She was surprised he wasn't always a wolf. As soon as the sun fell past the horizon she couldn't resist the compulsion to shift. But, he was older. Maybe he had better control over his need to shift?

Moe sprang at him, intent on pinning him beneath her, tongue lolling out to swipe over his face.

Zeke growled softly as he was knocked onto his side but stopped as he realized it was Moe.

He wiggled out from beneath her and got a few paces away from her, wiping his face dry as he removed his clothing, quickly changing into wolf form.

He had been resisting changing form in fear of his mood getting worse when he did.
A fear that was right on target, as soon as he was on all fours he found himself feeling even more on edge.

The small wolf - barely the size of a Border Collie dog - yapped, tail wagging.

She bound towards him again, pouncing and taking an ear in her jaws, tugging at it playfully.

This was always how she bought on a fight. She'd toy with whoever it was, acting like nothing more than a playful nuisance until they went to take a bite out of her.

Zeke let out a growl in warning as he lay down on the ground, placing his head on his paws, he was in a foul mood already as she was not helping.

The size difference between the two was dramatic, even for a lycan Zeke was big and in comparison she was absolutely tiny.

He tried his best to ignore her, he knew she was trying to rile him up on purpose.

Her body shook in an annoyed sniff when he ignored her.

She padded around him in a circle a few times, bright green eyes flickering over him. She should have been daunted by his size - he was huge compared to her tiny frame.

But, instead of fear, she was calculating.

What would rile him up the most? What would get him to fight?

She jumped at him, tugging at his tail sharply before skittering back a few paces, waiting for a reaction.

Zeke rose to his feet with an angry bark.
He was reaching his calm limit for the night, he knew she would not leave him alone until she had a satisfying fight.

He walked over to her, his ears pinned to the back of his head as he growled, stopping right in front of her, he towered over her as he stood growling at her, baring his teeth.

He was standing there daring her to push him again, it would be her own fault if he attacked her.

Don't look so pissed off, Zeke-kun. Just a friendly fight, ne?

She backed up a few steps before padding around him again.

She lunged to nip at his rump before darting away into the tree line again, skulking in the dirt, peering out from behind a tree.

I don't want to do this Moe, I don't want to fight you.

He could not help look pissed off, mainly because he was pissed off.
The full moon put him in the foulest of moods, made even worse by the fact that he had been dragged out here.

He growled softly as she nipped him, turning to watch her run away, he walked into the forest, with her speed he would be chasing her all night if she could coax him into doing so.
Instead he took it slow, they had all night after all.

Too bad. It'll burn of some energy and make you feel less like you want to tear someone's throat out.

Fighting was one of the best ways of getting rid of all the energy the Full moon gave Lycan.

She curled between the trees, circling around Zeke in a wide arch, nipping the end of his tail as she passed him and disappeared into the forest again.

Zeke growled again as she bit his tail for the second time but kept walking forward, there was no way he would catch her in these trees.

He made his way into a large clearing, knowing that Moe was following him, ready to bite at his tail again.

Instead he stood in the middle of the clearing, if she wanted to get to him, she would have to come out of the trees.

In the time it would take her to reach him, he'd be able to see her.

She stood in the shadow of a large tree, watching him as he stalked into a large clearing.

Clever; take away her advantage.

She continued to wave in between the trees until she was standing behind him.

Her tongue lolled out of her mouth for a moment as she readied herself.

She darted towards him as silently as she could, pouncing on his back, scrambling along his spine before pushing off his head to sprint back towards the tree line again.

She was quicker than him. She just hoped she was quick enough to get to the trees and weave through them to confuse him before he caught up to her.

Zeke grunted as she jumped on his back, he suspected she would get behind him, though he was not as fast as her, he could run short distances quick enough.

He sprinted towards her, only just managing to grab hold of her tail at the very edge of the clearing.

He gave her tail a sharp tug, knocking her off of her feet, making sure he stood between her and the clearing, he wasn't going to let her get away from him.

He jumped on top of her, pinning her down under all his weight.

She yelped, thrashing wildly, her sharp teeth snapping at his muzzle and legs, tearing into his flesh.

She didn't have a strong body, but she had a strong jaw. She had shattered a fair few bones - mostly Aodh's - with them, and torn a great many chunks of flesh from people.

He could try to keep her pinned, but it wouldn't take long before he had to let her go before she stripped all the flesh from his forepaws.

She was a vicious fighter.

Zeke yelped as her teeth pierced his skin, he hadn't expected her jaw to be so strong.

He lowered his grip on her, pressing his paws onto her stomach, pushing down with all his weight to try and knock the air out of her as his jaw clenched around her neck, right under her jaw line in order to keep her biting his face or neck in return.

He bit down roughly, paying her back for the wounds she had inflicted on his legs.

She grunted loudly, kicking her legs up into his stomach as her forepaws scratched at his already injured legs.

When his jaws locked around her throat she went totally limp, slumping back against the ground, soft pants evening out into slow breathing as her eyes slid shut.

Her head lolled further back as her breathing totally evened out.

Zeke whined as she clawed at his legs, making the cuts deeper.

He growled and bit down harder, he was not sure what Moe was playing at but he didn't trust her enough at the moment to let her go.
Especially since what she had done to his front legs after he had left himself exposed for the briefest of moments.

She stayed completely still, not even uttering a whimper as his grip tightened around her neck.

The woman was completely limp in his grip.

Zeke glared at her for a moment, he had been warned that she would fight dirty.

He let go of her throat and grabbed onto the scruff of her neck, even if she began thrashing around again she wasn't going anywhere as he stepped off of her stomach.
If he pressed down on her throat any more than he had been he could of crushed her wind pipe and while she was all limp like that it was far too dangerous.

He dragged her across the ground into the middle of the clearing, she was not getting away from him now.

She was still limp.

Her body dragged against the ground as he pulled her into the centre of the clearing.

The woman's green eyes didn't even flicker open.

Zeke was starting to worry, if she was just trying to trick him into letting his guard down she was doing a good job of it.

He let her go completely and licked her muzzle, nudging his nose against her face.

He would willingly walk into a trap if it meant he could make sure she was okay.

She stayed completely still again.

Her head tilted to the side when he nudged her face, as if she had lost all consciousness. Her body was completely pliable.

And then, after another few more minutes of laying as if passed out, chest barely rising as she breathed, she sprang.

Away from Zeke.

The woman bolted to the trees again, rubbing against the rough bark of the first tree with a rumbling growl that would be the cats equivalent of a purr before weaving between the trees again, heading deeper into the forest.

Zeke growled to himself, of course she had tricked him and now she was trying to coax him out of the clearing to fight on her terms.

He thought about just staying there, having a nap before Moe realized he wasn't giving chase and was forced to come back and fight the way he intended to.

It was extremely tempting but he was in a hurry to pay her back for scaring him like that so he bolted after her.

The great thing about being small was that you were usually flexible and good at getting in and out of awkward spaces.

Moe had that talent.

And so she set about climbing a tree - an awkward thing to do when you're a Wolf - perching in a high branch and waiting.

She had no doubt Zeke would find her.

He had found her last time she had climbed a tree.

Zeke ran through the forest, following her scent.

She had a head start so it took him a few minutes until he got to the area that the scent was strongest.

He growled softly as he looked up at her, she was in a tree of all things.

He barked at her impatiently as he circled around the branch below her.
