Long Time No See [C]

"Salute!"

He couldn't quite remember what he brought but it burnt the back of his through and it was just as bad as the shots he took earlier.

He bent down to take his next shot and the next and the next after that. All five of his half of the shots.

Fleck was much slower than Dick with his shots, though he seemed to be less affected by them.

With every shot Dick had, the vampire visibly winced. Fleck didn't, but by the time Dick had finished his fifth, Fleck had just picked up his third.

He wasn't a big drinker, and this was probably the most alcohol that he'd been presented with so far.

He was going to end up plastered if he drank all of this. Fleck seriously hoped he didn't end up drinking so much he threw up. That'd be such a waste.

Fleck knocked back his third then tilted his head in Dick's direction. "You come out drinking here often?"

Dick shock his head slowly as he adjusted himself to the amount of alcohol he drank.

"No, this is my first time I have been drinking in... a year. I think? Maybe a bit longer."

Probably why he was being a bit excessive with he drinking.

"What about you?"

"Pretty much the same."

He gave a one-shouldered shrug as he slugged his fourth shot.

"My brother decided that I'm too much of a pansy, just sitting around painting when we're not training, so he decided to drag me out."

Fleck licked a drop of his shot from his lower lip.

"He ditched me as soon as we walked through the door." The young man grinned. There was no ill-will there. He was quite happy sat in his corner drawing rather than drinking excessively like he was sure his brother was doing right now.

Dick felt another bubble of laughter at the slightly similar situation he was it.

"I am out with my friend. She ditched me too."

He lost all interest in finding Gia now. His new found company was far more interesting. Besides, he was sure Gia was keeping herself entertained in ways he did not want to know.

"It was support to be some classy reunion out, now hear we are."

He gestured around the club.

"You said something about training? What for?"

"We must be ditchable kinds of guys, then, huh?"

It was certainly a common thing for him when he was dragged out by certain friends and his family. This wasn't the first time he'd been left at the corner of the dancefloor, and it wouldn't be the last time by a long shot.

"My brother wants to elist, and I was enlisted to help him get fit," he replied with a crooked grin. It wasn't the first time that he'd gone through this with his siblings. There just seemed to be something about him that begged for intense exercise schedules, apparently.

His siblings had picked on him like this so often, right from an early age, that he was almost constantly training like this. Right from when he was ten and his eldest sister had recruited him as her exercise buddy. Ten years down the line, this was the fifth time he'd been enlisted as an exercise buddy by his family.

"You must be pretty fit then."

He looked down at Fleck's arm and it a pat then a squeeze. Most definitely muscle. It made him feel like a twig in comparison. Any muscle he gained travelling with Gia has left him from lazing around the mansion.

But, he guessed if he put his mind to it, he could throw Fleck over the bar if he truly wanted.

Lifting up two whisky's and coke's he passed another drink to Fleck.

"What do you do?"

"I try."

By human standards, he was pretty damned fit, but to a supernatural creature, he was still fragile; just a human.

His gaze turned down to the hand on his arm, and his lips crooked upwards slightly. Dick's hand looked so dainty against his tanned and muscular forarm.

Fleck accepted the drink that was passed to him and raised it to take a small sip.

"Eh, nothing interesting."

"If it is nothing interesting then it must be intresting."

Richard, by nature, was a nosy person. Or as he would like to put it: curious. When he was sober he was good at keeping that part of himself fairly reeled in. Drunk Dick? Not so much.

"I work in a little outdoor equipment shop."

All he did all day was suggest what waterproofs would be better, and ring up camping gear and fishing tackle.

It really wasn't interesting.

Fleck took another long sip of whiskey and coke.

"Okay, maybe you are right. It is not very interesting."

Dick's cheeks were starting to hurt with the amount of smiling he was doing. His muscles were not used to it. The dimples on his cheeks seem to be slowly becoming permanent part of his face.

"Here I was hoping for FBI agent or some Celebrity." He squinted at Fleck's sketches again. "Though if I could see your sketches better I would say drop your job and become some sort of artist."

"Sorry to disappoint," Fleck chuckled.

"What about you?" With a teasing and flirty little grin, he reached up to play with a lock of the Vampire's blond hair, curling it around his finger then stroking the curve of Dick's cheek gently. "Maybe some sort of secret prince? You've got the pretty, dainty looks for it."

Dick had the sort of face that he would love to paint. The sort of features he could see in some ancient royal painting.

Dick's cheeks burned. He wasn’t sure if it was from the alcohol or the hand against his cheek. Probably both. He couldn’t quite look Fleck in the eye as he nervously laughed. Fleck hit the nail on the head on that one.

“Lets dance.”

He drained his drink and picked up a the couple of remaining drinks at his feet. He left the other two for Fleck to grab – or leave. Whichever he decided.

Dick’s other hand slid down Fleck’s arm from where it hasn’t left his bicep. Tracking his fingers Dick curled his hands around them to pull him up on his feet and to drag him to the dance floor.

Dick didn’t recognize the song. There was too much bass and electrical sounds that went right through you. But it had an easy beat to sway your hips to and jump on the balls of your feet.

His grin curled a little more when Dick avoided his eyes and flushed. He filed it somewhere in the back of his head to compliment the man more often. The bashful embarrassment was adorable.

"Dance?" Fleck echoed bleakly.

He contemplated making his body go limp when Dick's hands curled around his own, so Dick wouldn't be able to pull him up, but his body moved before he could ponder it too much.

He was dreading it, but he followed after Dick when he was dragged onto the dancefloor.

Fleck was used to rigid, repetetive motions of intense workouts. He'd never really danced before, and he was more than a little uncomfortable with it.

He looked rigid and uncomfortable as his eyes flickered around, trying to see how people were dancing.

"Dance!"

Dick liked dancing. He enjoyed the well. now steps in the ballroom or a disco. Despite enjoying it he never did it much - especially with a partner. It tended to get a little awkward then.

Dancing nowadays seemed so much more different. More free. People would throw, twist and shake their bodies about to the beat of the song. Sometimes they would just simply jump on the tips of their toes and raise there hands in the air when the beat dropped. Sometimes it still looked foreign to him. He needed a drink or two or more to help loosen himself up.

Tonight he most definitely had enough to drink. He yelled and laughed and jumped out of time. So did everyone else.

Too drunk to care, Dick was oblivious to Fleck's obvious discomfort. Dick just continued grinning, clinging onto Fleck's hand and raising it up in the air as everybody else did.

Fleck continued to look around, still trying to figure out the day through monkey see, monkey do tactics.

That left him awkwardly trying to bend his knees in time with the beat as he let Dick pull at his hands.

Fleck felt so much better off the dance floor than on it.

He caught his brother's eye in the crowd and the boy dropped a wink that Fleck responded with an upwards arch of one brow. A silent, but not very subtle conversation ensued, with Fleck's brother pointing down to his crotch as he began undulating his hips against the girl he was dancing with, then making a few hand gestures to try and encourage Fleck to do the same.

Fleck's lips twitched up into a disbelieving curl, and he shook his head slowly.

He wasn't about to dry hump Dick in the middle of a busy crowd. He had some class. Apparently more than his brother.

Said brother rolled his eyes and threw up his middle finger.

Screw you if you're not going to take my advice was communicated rather clearly.

Fleck shook his head slowly.

Dick was completely oblivious to the brotherly exchange and still to Fleck's awkwardness.

The drinks in his hand splashed and spilt to the floor. Somehow there was still half of it in there. The sticky liquid dripping down his arm made him remember that he had them. With the hand he was holding, he curved it around one of them to give it to the other man. He didn't pay attention if Fleck had a proper grasp on it or not. He was too busy downing his own drink.

The plastic glass left his hand as someone knocked into him. If this was any other time he would of been pissed. This time: who cares? It gave him an extra limb to dance with.

The was very little room to dance. Just going past one o'clock it was the busiest part of the night. Somehow the bouncers still managed to fit more people in.

Fleck didn't have a proper hold on the glass when Dick let it go, but he was quick to act when he felt the glass slip. His fast reflexes would make even a vampire proud of him as he snatched the glass out of the air, without spilling too much.

He transferred the glass to his other hand and shook the coke and whiskey from his fingertips. When the majority of it was flicked off, he raised his hand to his mouth, licking off the few remaining drops. His hand was gonna get ridiculously sticky soon, but he'd done all he could without going to the bathroom.

When Dick lurched after being nudged, Fleck's hand shot to the man's hip, holding him steady. "Careful," he called over the music.

His free hands found there way pressed against Fleck's chest as he tripped.

For a moment he froze.

The pose they were in was ever so slightly compromising. Maybe not as much as the couple a few feet over who may as well be having sex on the dancefloor, but for Dick this was a lot more closer than he intended to be. The hand playing with his hair earlier was close enough for him.

The bass dropped again and he snapped out of it. With the helping hand of the blood in his system.

"Must be busy."

He stood on his tip toes to speak. Even yelling wouldn't carry far with the amount of noise in the club.

The beat of the song got him bopping up and down again. The only difference is he was now flushed against Fleck. He couldn't step back since some girl has filled the space behind him.

His smoothed up Fleck's shirt and to rest on his shoulders. It was more comfortable and less awkward. It will also be easier to pull him down to speak to him.

Fleck didn't move his hand from Dick's hip. Part of him was worried that if he did move, with the way Dick had just tensed up, he'd scare the man off, even if he was moving his hand away from him.

So he stayed still, waiting for Dick to decide on fight or flight.

A little smile curled his lips when Dick decided to fight his fears and stay where he was. Even with Dick relaxing and begining to dance again, Fleck didn't move his hand from Dick's hip.

"It'll only get busier from here," he spoke into the Vampire's ear. This was the best time to pick potential partners up. It was going to get a lot busier, then suddenly fall quiet as people found their potentials and disappeared off to do unspeakables.

His shoulders were a little tense under Dick's hands. He still wasn't so comfortable with dancing, though he was trying, swaying just a little, occasionally bouncing at the knee.

The DJ changed to mood of the dancefloor from someone screaming about partying, drinking, and doing drungs to something a little more gentler. It was catchy and the vast majority of the dancefloor was suddenly filled with girls. A lot of them screaming how it was there song.

It was finally one Dick knew from when he went out a little more. He even sang part of the chorus. Although couldn't quite look Fleck in the eye as he sang.

This wasn't flecks sort of music. He vaguely recognised the tune of the song, but he always struggled understanding singing English. Like with any language that wasn't your first, singing was difficult to pick up on at times.

So, he just continued his poor attempt at dancing, watching Dick as the man danced and sang. Dick was enjoying himself, and that was enough for Fleck to not be sore about being up on a dancefloor listening to music he couldnt quite understand properly.

The song changed back to something Dick didn't quite know or quite like so much. The other around them must of agreed as the dancefloor thinned out.

He pulled Fleck down so he could speak to him.

"Do you want to sit back down? I can get us another drink?"

The amount of dancing he was doing was making his throat dry and back wet. He must of looked like a mess right now.

"I'll get the next round."

He'd feel better about the last few rounds being on Dick, some of that quite literally with the amount Dick had spilled on himself, if he bought a round.

"You go see if my sketchbooks been pilfered."

He nudged Dick gently in the direction of the table he'd been sat on, with a gentle hand on Dick's lower back.

"No, I will get it."

But he was pushed in the direction of where they were sitting earlier. Nobody else was sitting there , bit it was litters with more plastic glasses and shot glasses. Some full, some empty, some inbetween.

Some home the sketchbook was still there. Whether or not it has been touched by other people it was hard to say.

He stumbled to the the chair, swayed and sat.
