In Which McBryne Arrives at the Coven

A breeze rolls through the air of a rosy painted afternoon, the sun hanging on to the last bits of day, looking like a glistening blood orange resting on the horizon. Footsteps crunch in the grass as a young man walks up to the large mansion. He lets out a winded sigh and brushes the back of his hand across his forehead, sweeping the tiny sweat beads off his brow.

"Took me long enough..." he murmurs out as he approaches the doors of the place he hopes to call home... And he stands there, unsure if he should knock or not. He looks toward the left and then toward the right before letting his eyes return to the door, wondering if anyone is around... Anyone like him.

There are no bags on his back, he only holds a plastic bag with an extra shirt, a pair of socks, and a pair of ratty jeans. He finally works up the courage to grasp the knob of the door and turn it, peering his head inside the crack in the door, looking around the main hall. He lets out a soft whistle, impressed by the decor of the coven, and he is truly amazed they are going to let a street urchin like him in such a fancy place. He wonders if he should obtain some nice clothes...

Farris then realizes he had been standing there for a good five minutes daydreaming of dressing in a dapper fashion. He shakes his head quickly, his thin dreads flopping around the frame of his face, and he steps into the building, his eyes eating up the interior, swallowing it up in his brain so this moment can stay there for when he shares it with a friend... He laughs to himself and stuffs his hands in his pockets, shaking his head back and forth as he strides into the coven, his thick sneakers thudding against the floor. He hopes in the back of his mind he doesn't track any dirt into the building. That wouldn't be very polite.

He laughs quietly once more.

Jean-Claude strolled through the mansion hallways, humming to himself as his feet tapped against he hardwood flooring.

His blue eyes flickered up when he stepped into the vestibule.

There was someone there with him.

Someone he hadn't met before.

He lifted a hand and waved lamely. "Hi."

Farris turns his head to the side and grins at the stranger before him, looking over the features in his face and disposition, and he registers him as someone worthy of conversation.

"Hey man, m'name's Farris," he introduces and then holds out his hand to shake the other's, a few of his thin dreads sweeping down over his cheeks and eyes. He flicks his head to the side to move the hair away, revealing his shimmering sliver-green eyes.
