The Birthday Bash

"Good."

Aodh sat up and pulled his hair into an intricate braid that hung over his shoulder and brushed at his navel as he stood and bent to pick up his jeans.

"I've had enough doting tonight. I can manage walking down to the kitchen."

He pulled the jeans up over his hips and buttoned them with a low hum.

"To the kitchen, aye?"

"Come on then."

He replied, making his way to the door and gesturing for Aodh to exit.

"After you, and may I say, those are some lovely marks that you are sporting."

He grinned softly as he eyed the strap marks across Aodh's torso.

Aodh laughed and made a gesture as if showing off some new clothes.

"Latest fashion, I hear. I just couldn't resist them." He grinned, eyes twinkling. "And your marks are lovely, too. Where did you get them? I may just try to get a set myself."

He felt like he had gone mad, but he didn't mind. It was fun.

He padded down the hall, shaking his head with a fond smile.

Aeker shook his head and laughed as he closed the door and followed the man down the hallway to the kitchen.

He wrapped his arm around the lycan's waist and smiled.

"This is a much nicer walk when I'm not clinging to you to stay upright."

He leaned up and kissed the man on the cheek as they headed to the kitchen.

"No pep talk this time, either."

He chuckled softly. "No 'we're nearly there, look we can see the kitchen.' I was never good at pep talks, how did I not send you into a panic by saying something stupid?"

He grinned. "So what're you making me?"

"To be perfectly honest, I wasn't really listening to what you were saying at that time.
You could of been telling me that I was dying and I would not of heard you."

He had been too focused on staying awake and resisting the inbuilt need to drain the closest living thing near him, which would of been Aodh.

He turned back to grin at the lycan softly.
"One of my ghouls."

He joked, modern mythology seemed to think that vampires made zombie-like ghouls that served them, he found that amusing, it sounded more like a necromancer than a vampire.

He snorted. "Nice to know my boyfriend listens to me."

His lips curled up into a grin as he sat down at the large dining table, leaning back in his chair and resting his feet on the table. His hands folded together on his bare stomach.

"That doesn't sound very edible. You really need to work at your cooking skills, dear."

"I don't think I was your boyfriend at that point, just some vampire who you accidentally kissed and fell on top of."

He chuckled and shook his head.

"Not edible for you at least."
He smirked softly.

"No, tonight I thought I would try to cook something I just learned to make."

He muttered as he gathered all of the ingredients that Moe has showed him.

The vampires nose wrinkled slightly as he began to chop up two onions after putting a pan on the heat.

"And fucked," he added, eyes sliding shut.

He hummed. "Seeing as you're cooking for me, I'd assume you'd make me something edible." He cracked an eye open to gaze at the vampire slyly. "That is, if you're able to cook edible food, vampire."

He'd never get tired of using that jibe.

"Do I get to know what you're making?" he asked, nose wrinkling slightly at the smell of raw onion.

He couldn't stand raw onion.

"I do believe it was I that fucked you, Schätzchen."

He smirked softly and threw a small amount of butter into the pan and tossed in the onions, leaving them to caramelize before wandering over to the cupboard to get some wine glasses and a bottle of red wine.

He set them down on the table and poured himself a glass.
"Would you like some?"

He asked, offering the lycan a drink.

"I will attempt to make it as edible as possible."
He chuckled as he strolled back over to the pan, shrugging his shoulder softly.

"You will have to wait and see."

"Meh, potato, potahto." He waved a hand dismissively.

His nose twitched when he smelled red wine and he gave a nod at the question, eyes not even opening.

"Aye, I do like a good glass of red wine. And if it's in Tony's kitchen, its gotta be one of the best." Giacinto strived for the best when picking out food and alcohol for her kitchen.

"You'll never hear the end of it if you poison me."

He chuckled and shook his head, pouring the man a glass of red wine before leaning against the counter and taking a sip of his own.

"I should learn to eat solids, it would make cooking much easier."

He muttered softly as he gazed at the caramelized onions before adding more butter, water and red wine into the pan and letting it simmer.

He remembered everything Moe had taught him and did it exactly as she had showed him.

Moving to peeling and chop the potatoes.
He mined softly down at the vegetable, he liked potatoes, they were much more forgiving than onion.

"If you give Sprout a bell, she'll help you with that."

Moe looked for any excuse to help people. And to cook. This would be a combination of the two. She'd jump at the chance.

His fingers began to drum against his stomach idly.

"Still not telling me what you're making?"

A smirk spread across his lips, as he faced the cook top.

"I'll be sure to do that."
Aodh obviously didn't know that he had already done so, he hoped his sudden prowess in the kitchen would shock him a little, even if it was a simple dish.

He placed the potatoes in the pot and finished up the rest of the preparation doing everything Moe had taught him perfectly, letting them cook as he leaned against the counter again and smiled at the lycan.

"No, it will be ready soon, then you can see."

"Aye. I'm far too lazy to cook for myself so I'll be relying on my wife to do it for me."

He chuckled softly. Aeker was going to come to hate that nickname.

The Lycan pouted and crack an eye open again, turning his gaze to the vampire. "So mean. I wanna know now."

Aodh could be extremely impatient at times.

His soft smile cracked into a smirk as he considered throwing something at the lycan for that comment, a knife perhaps...

He let out an amused hum and brought his wine to his lips again, taking a small sip before setting it down on the counter, his long finger circling the edge of the glass.

"But it will ruin the surprise, Schätzchen."

He eyed the pan for a moment, it was cooking perfectly just like it had done the night before.

He pouted again. "So mean."

"I can cheat and identify it by smell if you don't tell me."

Aodh didn't like using his sense of smell in a kitchen. There were far too many scents that overpowered him. Spices, herbs, meats, juices. It was all too much for Aodh's sensitive nose.

He laughed softly as a mischievous grin spread across his lips.

"Do that and I will go into the cold room and start opening blood bags."

That would definitely put the lycan off of his food.
He leaned over to stir the stew, smiling softly, only a few more minutes and it would be done.

Aodh ducked his head and whimpered, hand flying to his nose as if that would protect him.

"You're not that cruel...are you?"

He gaze up at the man with wide silver eyes. Aeker wouldn't be cruel enough to subject him to the smell of blood, would he?

Aeker raised his glass to his lips again and took another sip.

"I would suggest not testing to find out the answer to that question."

He may very well do it just to teach the lycan a lesson.
He chuckled softly and shook his head, placing the glass back on the counter as he moved to stir the contents of the pan again.

"You're lucky I ate last night."

"I'll be good," he muttered grudgingly.

He didn't want to have to smell blood, especially tonight. This mornings blood had been enough to sour his mood until lunch.

Aodh stretched out with a purr.

"When will it be done?"

"Five more minutes."

He said as he moved across the room, gathering a large bowl to serve it in and placing some cutlery out in front of the lycan as well as collecting some bread and butter in case he wanted to soak up the gravy.

Dropping down to give him kiss before making his way back to the stove to give it one last stir.

Even he had to admit that it smelled good, he dipped his finger in the gravy and place it in his mouth, sucking it off softly with a small smile.

Though he doubted he could stomach a bowl full just a little taste was pleasant.

Aodh whined loudly. Five minutes?

He had to wait five more minutes? That was ages to a hungry Lycan.

He kissed the man back, but returned to pouting when he pulled away. "You're making me wait five whole minutes?"

Aeker chuckled and shook his head.
"You sound like impatient child."

He smiled and returned to the pan, turning off the heat and pouring the contents into the large bowl before walking over to place it in front of Aodh, kissing the top of the lycan's head.

"Stewed potatoes in onion gravy."
He muttered before sitting across from the man, filling his glass with red wine and taking another sip.

"I am impatient."

He was hungry and he didn't like to wait for anything.

Aodh purred when Aeker kissed the top of his head, smiling softly. His eyes snapped down to the bowl when the vampire spoke and they widened.

Potato and onion stew...

His eyes flickered up to the man as he picked up his spoon and dunked it into the bowl. The potatoes tasted heavenly with the onion and butter.

He knew that recipe, though. No one put butter in onion gravy except Moe. "You've been going down to the cottage," he accused with a little grin as he wolfed down another spoonful.
