[C] Black Dragon

Dick's tongue was over his top lip again, thinking over his words and the thoughts that just wouldn't leave him alone. His hands pulling themselves a little faster through the hair.

"I was thinking," he began again, heart thumping in his rib cage. "Maybe I could... help."

He was glad Fleck was faced away from him so he couldn't see his darkening cheeks.

"If you want," he hastily added. "I understand if you don't."

Help?

Fleck drew himself upwards again, so he could look up at his boyfriend. His brows were drawn together slightly in confusion.

Help?

Fleck jerking up took him by surprise. He replaced playing with the blond hair with playing with his ring.

He bit his lip at the frown, unsure of what to make of it.

"I mean, it was just a thought."

His lips parted to speak, but with an annoyed upwards roll of his eyes, he pulled away from Dick to grab the pad and pen they'd been using.

Help?

He didn't know what Dick could do to help beyond what he was already doing.

Dick sat up straight as Fleck went off to grab the pen and paper. Then looked over to the single written word.

Ah.

He was being too vague.

"You know, what we discussed yesterday," he said, trying to be as obvious as he could be without outright saying it. It was embarrassing, to say the least.

Fleck's expression went slack in shock when Dick spoke, and he scrambled or the notepad again.

You don't have to do that

He was writing so quickly that his writing wasn't nearly as legible as it usually was.

His face was hot.

"I -I want to," he tried to sound certain and set on the idea. Not unsure or nervous. He was glad Fleck didn't have the hearing to listen to his heart hammering in his chest.

"I mean I know your not on the verge of death or anything and you will be better again in a few days but I want us to be able to chat again... And other things," he spoke slowly and carefully, eyes downcast.

His lips turned upwards a little.

He took care writing out the next two words, trying to make them as legible as possible.

Dick was clearly embarrassed enough about this idea as it was. He didn't need any additional fussing over it. That would probably just make him even more flustered.

The best thing Fleck could do was thank him and let him do what he needed to do without making a big fuss over it.

Dick exhaled slowly. Eyes trained on the neatly written words.

Fleck always seemed to know exactly what to say or do.

"Okay, right."

He didn't make a move. Blue eyes drifted up from the notebook to Fleck, carefully figuring out how he was going to do this; where would it be easiest for Fleck to access; where it would be the most comfortable for himself.

The vampire shifted, moving closer to Fleck, face to face. His knees folded under him.

"Keep your hands here."

He tapped Fleck's knees.

His hands moved obediently to his knees.

Fleck's gaze stayed steadily on Dick as he waited for any other commands or instructions.

This was something special to Dick. He didn't want to mes this up for him.

"I've never done this before," he repeated yesterday's words.

He scratched his own knees, looking his patient boyfriend up and down.

"You're sure you want to do this, right? Is it not too weird? Or off-putting? ...Or sinful?"

He felt a little silly saying the last one. But it was the word he would have used to describe his existence a very long time ago.

How could he answer that one in a way that would soothe Dick a little, without speaking or reaching for that stupid notebook?

He lifted his hands from his knees, cupping Dick's cheeks, stroking them gently with his thumbs, then leaning forwards and placing a very gentle kiss to his forehead.

And then he sat back in his original position, hands dropping to his knees again.

It was strange, yes, but this was something that Dick wanted to do, and was something special he wanted to share.

Dick's eyes slipped closed as he leant into the little kiss, grateful for it. He returned a kiss on Fleck's wrist before he pulled them away.

He took a deep inhale in and battled down the nauseating nerves. Then a steady inhale out.

He could do this.

He wanted to do this.

Bringing his hand up to his mouth he sliced the first digit of his index finger. Brows drawn together as he winced.

He brought the newly wounded finger back down and watched blood well up over the cut. He didn't know if it was going to be enough. It certainly wasn't the best place to take blood.

For now, it will do. It was better to have only a little at a time than too much.

Cupping his other hand under his bloody finger he looked back up at Fleck, assessing his reaction.

He watched Dick cut his finger with a morbid sort of fascination. Fangs, right.

His brows drew together a little as he watched the blood well up from the cut.

He was going to be drinking that. The logical part of him thought it was pretty gross. The part of him that knew that Vampries actually existed though... okay, he thought it was pretty gross, too.

But he could see the advantages of doing it, and knew how important this was to Dick.

He was going to be the first to receive Dick's blood.

Fleck didn't look hungry at the sign of blood. But he didn't look horrified or overly grossed out. Or cowering away like he did when they watched that gory horror film.

That was a good sign.

"Okay," he said to himself.

He brought his finger up to Fleck's lips, eyes trained on him. His hand was still cupped under the finger to catch the blood that dripped from it.

With an inch between the finger and lips, he left it so Fleck could close the gap. Enough distance for him to pull away if he changed his mind last minute.

Fleck inhaled slowly as the finger was held in front of him, and after he had exhaled slowly, he leaned forwards to take the bleeding fingertip into his mouth.

His face pinched up a little, but relaxed again when the taste wasn't exactly what he expected. There was definitely a metallic taste to it, but it wasn't as strong as he was expecting. There was something different about it. Something he couldn't quite describe.

The gave the fingertip a tiny suck, groaning softly as the hot, painful sensation in his tongue began to lessen.

Dick watched Fleck's expressions intently, cheeks pinking as he brought the finger to his mouth; hot and wet. There was a gentle pressure from his top and bottom teeth. A surprisingly nice sensation.

His cheeks turned a shade darker as Fleck lightly sucked and groaned around it. The answered to his unasked question of whether Fleck was okay or not.

With no tissues in reach, he licked the few splatters of blood off his palm, dilated eyes fixed on Fleck.

When the swelling started to go down, he pulled back.

He didn't want to overdo this. How much blood was too much blood? He didn't want to risk it.

Even when he pulled away, he could feel the swelling going down.

"Holy shit." He shifted his tongue, and it hardly felt painful at all. "Holy shit."

As soon as Fleck pulled away, Dick leant over to the side and reached out for the tissues on the bedside table. He wrapped his finger in it and applied pressure for a minute. It won't take too long for it to scab over and heal.

His face split into a grin as Fleck finally spoke. The feeling of pride and accomplishment swelling up inside him.

"It looks a lot less sore here too."

He raised his uninjured hand to delicately stroke just above Fleck's eyebrow piercing.

Fleck still couldn't get over the fact that his swelling was gone.

His tongue felt like it hadn't been just a day since he'd had a needle shoved through it.

"Holy fucking-" He leaned forwards, cupping Dick's cheeks and kissing him firmly.

Okay, that smarted a little, but he could deal with this.

"Shit," he breathed against his boyfriend's lips.

A small noise of surprise caught the back of his throat as Fleck leant in to kiss him, cheeks still stained red. A laugh followed when Fleck broke it.

He pressed his forehead against Fleck's, grin still on his lips.

"I didn't just do that for you to say the same three words over again."

Fleck pulled back and grinned crookedly.

"Holy fucking shit, holy fucking shit, holy fucking shit."

He pressed another firm kiss to Dick's lips. "That was so fucking cool. Thank you." His thumbs ran gently over Dick's cheeks.

Another laugh left Dick as Fleck repeated himself over and over. Of course he would.

Ready for the next kiss, his lips responded. A little bit softer.

He decided he liked the word cool.

Better than the words he had described on what happened between them.

"You're welcome," he said, still hot under Fleck's hands.

"Thank you for sharing that with me."

Another little kiss to Dick's lips. Thank you."

He moved to lay down again, pulling Dick down to lay against his chest. "How's your finger?" he asked, reaching for Dick's hand.

His heart skipped a few beats and his head tilted down. It was still hard to not smile.

He followed Fleck down, finding himself comfortably top of him

"It's fine," he answered

He took the now bloody tissue off his finger and gave Fleck his hand.

The wound was only weeping now. A few more minutes and a scab will form over it. By tomorrow it would look as good as new; all evidence of what had happened gone.
