[O] Quiet Year Empty
PostSubject: [O] Quiet Year   [O] Quiet Year EmptyWed Feb 05, 2014 11:33 am

The last year for Jason had been a quiet one - compared to the last few years.

Not as many wind-ups, little sex (too his standards) and no near almost death experiences. Instead he saw his siblings more often, going to Greece, South Africa and Egypt for a few months before returning to the mansion.

And in all honesty, while his siblings are dull, it was not brain numbingly boring.

He enjoyed the small time to himself and his siblings - especially with their years ticking by. Though he considered maybe he was just hitting middle age early by a few hundred years. He would not mind maybe spending another year with them again.

The copper haired vampire stretched out under the moonlight, feeling the grass tickle his fingertips. Rolling on his stomach, he continued to fiddle with the grass - threading them together.

Not that he planned this year to be just himself and his siblings. They can be too dull at times - all proper and formal. No, this year he wanted excitement. Meet new people! Party the night away! Buy a new wardrobe!... Even if his current state of laziness did not show this.

Forced to be alone with her own devices, the child vampire wandered her new home. Now that she had her sleeping area situated, the rest was for her to explore and figure out on her own. The night was still young, so she wandered the outer walls of the mansion. Soon, the garden caught her eye. As beautiful as it was, she was hesitant in exploring. Beauty had always been decieving. But the moonlight that glistened against fragile flower petals tempted her.

Mialina took care in staying on the stone pathways, not wanting to get her thickly heeled mary janes dirty. But it was irrelevant with how simple the weather must have been the last few days. Everything was nice and dry and soon she deserted the paths and walked through the patches of grass that seperated the plantlife.

The mound of flesh made her pause. She inspected the male that she had come across quietly, unsure if she had already disturbed or not. She had not been very quiet while walking through the thick grass but she wasn't sure if she was ready to meet more quirky strangers.

Jason heard grating footstps along the path way. Just another passer-by. Though they turned softer - he assumed they were now walking on the grass - before they stopped.

So another person has joined him.

Pushing himself up, he turned to where the noises were. A young looking girl stood just a little off from him. Very well dressed with young delicate features. Like a doll.

He grinned. He had not seen her before - must of came here not too long ago.

"Nice shoes - you don't see them too often around here."

He pushed himself further up, dusting down his own dress.

"I'm Jason. And your are?"

The stranger's comment made her stiffen, and her eyes narrowed in suspicion. She didn't trust compliments. Now that he was sitting up, she realized this man...was definitely in the 'quirky' category. He was wearing a dress. She frowned, but considered that it was better than a half naked man acting like a dog.

"Mialina." She responded stiffly. "Sometimes Missy."

How many more strange people lived in this building?

"Okay, hello Missy." His grin fell for a moment to test the name before grinning again.

She seemed reserved. He hoped to open her up a little, maybe make a new friend. Not for anything perverse - oh god no. He enjoyed sex a bit more then the average, but she looked like a child. And that the a boundary he was never prepared to leap - no matter her true age.

"I am guessing you are new here." He patted the soft grass in front of him invitingly.

She didn't know how to take hearing the nickname again. But it was such a huge part of her life she could never let it go. Trying to allow herself to relax some more she stepped closer but didn't sit down. "Yes, I have been shown my room." The girl explained, staring down at Jason. Considering the pros and cons of her actions, she gave more information.

"I know nothing else, so I must find my way around." Which was fine. She didn't need someone to show her everything. She was sure sooner or later she would find anything and everything she would need. Although she wondered where she would feed. Although sufficient in her skills, a child's body was not convenient for true hunting.

The copper haired vampire craned his slightly to look up at the doll-like girl.

"That's good to here."

He was a little disappointed that she did not sit down, but at least she stepped closer.

"Maybe I can give you a little tour then." He tilted his head to the side, leaning back to seem more open. "I have been here for a while, I know a good few spots to get piece and quiet."

It was only half true - the place and people have changed. The whole atmosphere of the mansion was different. Almost like when he first moved here.

A tour. Did she want to put herself through that again? Her eyes lit up as she thought it over before slowly nodding. He could serve useful. "Peace and quiet may be good, but necessities shall be first." Her room also involved the bath situation, but blood was on her mind and she could feel a sharp tooth poking at her lower lip. The traven to this mansion had been long and tedious.

"Okay!"

Grinning he stood up, towering over here. He dusted the rest of his green dress off and slipped his flats on.

"Well," he extended his arms, gesturing to the around him. "the out doors is a great start. Pretty spacious. Sometimes you may be fights - but that is with anywhere really. But overall, a nice quiet space to think or read."

He padded over to where the smaller vampire just came from. Strides small and slow to ensure she could keep up.

"I think the first place we should visit is the ball room."

Mialina didn't even look up at him, unphased by the height difference. She was just so used to it by now. But since coming here it seemed more likely to find giants! But still, she took his tour seriously and looked whichever way he gestured.

"They host balls?" she asked, slightly interested. It was the only time she could wear something even more extravagant than what she already wore. She quicked her pace, starting to reveal her interest and excitement.

"Yeah, they do! And nay type of other party - like karaoke."

The passed through the wide corridors - cracked with the odd cobweb high on the ceiling. Heavy dark curtains decorated it - to protect the vampires when the sun was out.

"They are pretty fun, and the expected drama is interesting to watch to."

They came to a large wooden door. Wriggling the handle it creaked open.

Jason pushed it wide before turning to the blonde vampire. Extending his arm to the ballroom, he let the other in first.

"And this is the ball room."

Unlike the halls, there were no cobwebs on the ceiling. It was the opposite - completely spotless with the faint linger if disinfection.

Karaoke...she tested the word, and was sure it was familiar. But dolls had no time to be silly. She stepped in ahead of him, accepting his gesture with a nod before allowing herself to view the ball room. Her shoes clicked against a shining spotless floor and her eyes wandered from each decorative peice in the room. Delighted at the thought of future events, she adjusted the lace peeking from her wrists as she turned, wanting a full three sixty view of the intricate room.

Realizing that she was becoming transfixed she stopped, and turned towards Jason. "I am done, we can continue."

Watching her become captivated by the room, he leaded against the door, waiting for her to finished.

She was like a little china doll princess... Or a spoiled brat, depending how you looked at it.

He had a feeling she would very much like this room and the goings on inside it.

"Okay then. Onward!"

Swiftly, he turned back down the corridor, hair swishing with the motion.

"I think we should next go too.. Hmm, how about the games room?"

Looking over his should, he check that Missy was following him.

Games? She had no time for games! Games were for real children, which she was not! Mialina frowned, quite disinterested but kept quiet and allowed him to control their tour. Surely he would see how uninterested she was and would continue on with just a quick look.

Her disgruntled look was hilarious.

Yep, definitely going to the games room.

Twisting and turning down the corridor's, passing a few other rooms they came upon another wooden door. Smaller and not as grand as the ball room one.

"And this is the game's room."

He opened it similarly to the ball room's door - as if it was as grand.

It had a number of inviting sofa's, a collection of video games that would make any gamers mouth water and a TV.

Mialina was fairly old. Granted, she was raised in a highly upper class society where things of this nature, like technology, should have been easy to come by and highly accessible. The only issue was her part played in that society and the traditions held onto by her old master. Kareoke was rarely spoken of, Tv's were rarely displayed, and video games had always been for immature children, which a doll like herself could not be.

Since the young child had left, little time was spent in learning more to avoid being seen as ignorant. She knew basics, but she never experienced first hand. So the black boxes that were consoles, and the wide arrays of disc cases displayed like books did nothing to pique her interest.

If anything, the sofas looked comfortable. She frowned, staring into the room and almost wishing it had the appeal that Jason so easily saw. This was a place for 'Games' which in its definition supposedly 'fun' but right now it was quiet, and no sort of 'fun' was being had.

Disappointed, Mialina was ready to move on. "Very nice. Next." she paused, glancing quickly at her tour guide. "Please."

"Nice manners." Jason joked, getting a bit of glee out of her displeasure.

"Okay then, if consoles don't appeal to you how about books? We have the best selection there is!"

Shutting the door behind him, he continued down the corridor.

"This way then!"

He took them to a flight of stairs and climbed to the top, checking that the other vampire was still keeping up with him. He could not read how fast she was - a little shameful of a pure blooded vampire at his age.

A door was open this time, revealing the shelves and shelves of book. Books from classical to horror and from visual novels to poetry.

It was a little messy, from people not bothering to tidy up after them. But is was cosy - little nooks and cranny's, plush sofas and chairs, and burning candles added to the atmosphere.

"It is a pretty quiet place, but you normally find one or two people in here."

Mialina scowled, wondering why she tried to have manners at all. But she obediantly followed at his pace, and up the stairs they went. She held dress in both hands delicately as they ascended. The books could only hold more interest because they were something that she knew. Boredom always brought her to books as they had been acceptable by her old master.

Letting herself in, her eyes wandered again. The candles were a very nice touch. Unlike the other rooms which seemed so spacious, the cluttering of books and the furniture made it seem small and...cozy. Giving a scan over the binders of books that were at her height level, her eyes widened in alarm.

"They are not in order." she proclaimed, her hands moving to switch one or two before glancing back at Jason. "Who keeps up with your library? Surely they are not normally kept in this state." she asked, her eyes went back to the books, and saw two or three needing to be switched out of arms reach.

Jason's lips twitched as he watched her attempt to sort the books, a slight giggle building up in his throat.

"Last time I checked, no one- well there is this one vampire who I swear has a thing for cleaning. Other then that, I don't know who runs it."

His grin stretched.

"No, it is normally in this state. Not that relaxing then?"

He rather liked the messiness of it. Made it relaxed and not too uptight. Like one of that grand Victorian libraries. Lovely and all, but you never felt you could touch anything.

"Relaxing, yes. But I like to find my books with ease." She reasoned, ignoring the switched books on the top shelf as to not strain herself and went back to moving a few more at her height before giving up when she took out a book much too far from it's proper place. Lazily, she plopped the book on the nearest table and turned away from the room as a whole.

Stepping around him she exited the way they came. She collected the ends of her skirts once more before descending. "What is next?"

Jason did let out a little laugh when he watched her simply left a book on that table.

"Too much work."

Letting her pass, he followed the small vampire down the stairs. Where too next he wondered. Spending a moment thinking he smiled and clicked his fingers.

"How about the kitchen? That is spotless."

Overtaking the other vampire he began leading the way again to the kitchens.

"Oh, if you need any blood, but can't be asked to go to the town, there are blood bags in the walk in freezer. Though I recommend heating it up unless you want them iced. There is also human food."

Finding the kitchen, he opened the door and let the vampire in.

Not a speck or grim in sight. As he had said: it was spotless. Each surface gleaming under the light bulb.

The kitchen. Finally, a necessity. All these places she could live without. But food...blood...she couldn't. She picked up the pace, muttering to herself of the walk in freezer. The speaking of blood made her eyes glow as she was now on a mission. Her mind heavily set on her meal, Mialina could barely appreciate the work taken in keeping the kitchen clean. Very nice, yes. Now where is the freezer?

Bright eyes scanned the room before she noticed a metal door. "Is this the freezer?" she asked, eyes narrowing as she went to open it. "And the town...what are the rules for hunting in town?"

Leaning on the door frame he frowned. In all truth, he never really paid attention to the rules of hunting in the town - if there were any.

"Huh, don't be horribly obvious about it? Don't draw attention to the mansion. Make sure to sort out the body, or not catch yourself on camera? I don't know, just hunt how you normally do?"

He smacked his lips. Not the most useful information. But he was pretty sure don't make the whole of humanity know was an unspoken rule.

"If you really want to know, ask Giacinto. She is top dog of the vampires here - and set up this whole mansion."

Mialina vanished inside the freezer for a few moments as she listened. Her mind was set on the boxes nicely stacked and heavily packaged with blood bags. Claiming one as her own, she escaped the cold room and closed the door tightly behind her.

"She seems to care little who comes in and out of her home." she commented, giving the bag a squeeze to test how frozen it was. It wasn't a bad thing, it's not like Giacinto should make sure to welcome every new being that decided to live here. But who knew who would sneak in and cause havoc?

Deciding it mattered little to her, the young child frowned at the cold liquid kept in its plastic confines. Was she willing to wait?

Jason shrugged.

"For all we know she could be spying on us all."

In the time he has been here, he had not really talked to Giacinto much. Which is a shame, she was a very beautiful woman.

He watched the doll-like vampire stair intently at the blood bag.

"Are you going to cook it or...?"
