Settling In (Hideaki and Felix)

Felix grinned and try as he might he could not hold in his laughter.

"Thanks for the compliment."
His laughter died down and he shook his head, running his hand through his messy blonde hair.

"I'd appreciate that, I don't think one pair of clothes will last me long, and I don't want to be stretching all of your shirts."

A smile beamed over his face.
"Perhaps I can find more shirts like this one in town then, if it suits me."

Hideaki grinned sheepishly, face burning as he chewed the skin of his thumb anxiously. He was unsure whether to be happy that Felix had found him funny or absolutely humiliated at the idiotic babble that had just come out of his mouth.

"You should." he mumbled, turning soft grey eyes back to him with a shy grin. "There's probably some around, it's fairly plain."

He had always thought that his sense of style was plain and boring, but somehow it looked nicer on Felix. Maybe he just couldn't pull off very many clothes.

Felix reached over and gripped Hideaki's hand, pulling it away from the man's mouth.

"You should really stop doing that, I don't want you biting too hard and making yourself bleed.
That's not a good idea if there are vampires about."

He rubbed the man's thumb with his warm, gentle fingers.

"I don't want them eating you."
He added with a soft smile.

"It's fi-"

Hideaki stopped abruptly, mid-sentence, as Felix's hand curled around his, eyes slowly rising to meet the other man's. A soft flutter rippled through his stomach as their gazes met and he flashed him a shaky smile, ignoring the urge to bite his thumb.

"Thank you." he murmured, a faint flush colouring his cheeks.

"You're welcome."

Felix chuckled softly and continued to stroke the man's hand idly.

"I hope that soon you wont be so nervous around me."

He smiled softly, he wanted to older wolf to be able talk to him, but he just seemed to fall over his words and become flustered.

Not that it bothered him at all, it was a little amusing watching the man blush because he had stuttered.

"I'm just a generally socially awkward kind of person." he smiled, attempting to pay no attention to the anxious flutter in his stomach as Felix stroked his hand. "It's nothing to be worried about."

It probably didn't help that he hadn't had a huge amount of human contact before. His old pack tended to prefer staying in their wolf forms, and none of them had ever been terribly affectionate. Physical contact was not something that they or his parents had ever really done, so it made him nervous sometimes. But it was nice.

He laughed softly. "I'm sorry if I seem dull, I'll start to open up eventually."

Felix smiled and shook his head, leaning it back against Hideaki's shoulder as he still gripped the older wolf's hand in his lap.

"You're not dull at all, don't be silly.
It's just, even before all of this happened, I wanted to get to know you better."

He murmured, leaning against the man with a soft sigh.
Felix has been admiring Hideaki on the beach that day but didn't have the courage to go and talk to him.

The fingers of his free hand combed idly through the blonde locks as he leaned back on the sofa with a contented sigh.

He squeezed the hand in his own affectionately with a faint smile.

"I suppose you've probably learnt a lot more about me than you first expected. Lycanthropy isn't exactly something people just expect to find out about each other." he chuckled lightly.

But then again, he supposed he hadn't really opened up about him. He just didn't know what to say. There wasn't anything he felt he could say about himself. For a supernatural being, most of the time he felt incredibly... Dull.

Felix let his eyes slide shut as he leaned into the older lycan's touch.
A smile spread across his lips as Hideaki squeezed his hand, the man was close to him, touching him, this simple fact made him very happy.

He gave a short laugh and nodded.
"Yeah, that was a bit of a shock, I thought Aodh was some escaped mental patient by the way he was talking on the beach.

But Lycanthropy isn't you, it is a part of you, sure, but it doesn't define who you are as a person.
The real you is the one that I want to know better."

Felix's body relaxed against Hideaki's, he was taking in slow, deep breaths, taking in the man's scent.

Hideaki smiled shyly, tucking a lock of golden hair behind Felix's ear before running his fingers through it again gently. There was something about this that was both nerve-racking and blissful. It was something that he had never really encountered before.

"Well... what do you want to know?" he asked, a little awkwardly.

There had been people, yes, but it had never been like this. It had never felt as simple, as easy as this. They had always acted rougher, were always more frightening. They hadn't wanted to really know about him, and even if they had, he probably wouldn't have told them.

But he felt that he could open up to Felix, somehow, even if he was a little awkward about it. Opening up was something he hadn't really had any experience in.

Felix purred softly as his fingers ran through his hair, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips, he hadn't a noise like that before, must be a more lycan response to touch.

"Hmm, Lets start with the basics, where are you from originally? and how old are you by the way?"

He asked, his silver eyes fluttering open softly to look up at the wolf.
He knew that Aodh had asked Hideaki's age when they were in the forest but he hadn't heard the response.

Hideaki smiled a little at the purr, toying idly with the tips, a little fascinated with the golden colour and curly texture.

"I'm originally from the Chiyoda region of Tokyo, but when I ran away, I was travelling through the Akaishi mountains when I was turned. I pretty much lived there from then onwards, until I came to Italy quite recently. I'm 428. It sounds old, but for a werewolf, I'm still just a pup, really."

He studied Felix's face carefully, memorising every detail with a contented smile.

Felix chuckled and looked up at Hideaki in amusement.

"If you're a pup at 428 years old then I really am a baby huh?
No wonder Moe told me not to rush trying to adjust to this life, got a long way to go but all the time in the world."

He smiled and nestled in closer to the older wolf quite enjoying the contact with the man.

"How many people have you changed?"
He asked curiously looking up at him as he head still lay on the man's shoulder.

His arm curled around the man's shoulder before continuing to stroke the golden locks idly, enjoying the comforting warmth of Felix's body next to his own.

"Only you." he murmured back gently.

He bit his lip, thinking. Did that have something to do with the way he felt for Felix? It was possible, logically, but he didn't like to think of it that way. It seemed too simplistic. Besides, he had felt something before he turned Felix, didn't he? He didn't think it was just a sire/fledgling feeling. It was more than that.

A smile spread across his lips again as Hideaki wrapped an arm around him, it seemed that the man was getting more accustomed to him being close.

For some odd reason the fact that the older wolf had not turned anyone else comforted him a little, even if he had only turned Felix by accident.

"Do you regret turning me?"

He asked, he harbored no ill feelings about being a lycan now, there was no angst or malice hidden beneath the question, he just simply wondered if the man felt guilty at all since he had never turned anyone before.

"Yes and no." Hideaki paused, chewing his lip. "It was a lot to put you through, and I... I wish I could have given you a choice."

He took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair anxiously as he prepared to open up about his feelings. It was rare that this happened, and it wasn't something that he was always comfortable with. But he wanted to be able to do it now, no matter how nervous it made him.

"But if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't be close to you now."

Felix smile and reached his hand up to stroke Hideaki's cheek as he lifted his head off of the man's shoulder.

"I'm glad this happened, I think, If i did have the choice I would have chosen this life.
It's a lot to take in but, I think it is worth it if it means that I get to feel this way."

He murmured, a slight blush passing over his cheeks as he leaned over and kiss Hideaki again, his hand cupping the older lycan's face.

He faltered for a moment before kissing him back, a little more confidently than before, his arms winding around the man's neck with a contented sigh. His fingers continued to lace through the golden locks idly, toying with the hairline for a moment.

He broke away from the kiss, smiling softly.

"I'm glad. I don't think it would have been the same if you hadn't."

Felix shifted, laying down across the crouch and rested his head on Hideaki's lap, he gazed up at the man, smiling happily.

"I'm glad that dog knocked me over and made me lose my drawings, I don't think I would of worked up the guts to talk to you otherwise."

Hideaki chuckled softly, stroking the side of the man's neck gently with a thumb.

"I don't think I would have, either."

He had always found it difficult to talk to new people. And people he found attractive were even worse. It was normally hard to even make words, let alone make any kind of intelligent or gripping conversation.

"I've never been very good with people." he admitted, scratching the back of his head.

Felix chuckled and looked up at the man brightly.
"You're not very good with people? I never would have guessed."

A grin spread across his face as he shook his head, Hideaki was definitely shy and nervous, but the young lycan found these qualities endearing.

He leaned into Hideaki's touch, enjoying the feeling of the man's fingers against his skin.

"Hopefully being around people more will make it easier to talk to them?"

Hideaki laughed softly, a little embarrassed as he gazed down at him, enjoying being able to touch Felix as much as Felix seemed to like the touch. It made him feel close to him. As small, as innocent as these touches were, somehow this contact signified that something had changed from just their old Sire/pup relationship.

"I hope so."

He thought back to his old pack again. Although he had had contact with them, it wasn't like being around people. Many of them had preferred to stay in their wolf forms, and it was so structured, so hierarchical, that it didn't feel like socialising. Every day was just trying not to get your throat ripped out.

"I haven't really been around this many people before. It's a little odd." he thought, tucking a strand of blond hair behind the man's ear. "I'll probably just stay with you for a bit. Until I get used to it, anyway."

He nodded softly.
"Seems we are both adjusting."

Felix reached up and fiddled with the ends of Hideaki's hair, running the longer strands through his fingers.

"I wont be complaining at all if you want to stay around me, I do want to get to know more people around here but..
Baby steps first huh?"

The thought of supernatural creatures still unnerved him slightly but he was positive that meeting a few of them in small numbers would ease his nerves.

Hideaki nodded, letting out a contented sigh as the man's fingers ran through his hair, tilting his head slightly into the touch.

"Yes. I do want to get to know other people just... maybe one at a time, or something."

He was even worse in groups. Groups of people were frightening at times. They did things that few people on their own would ever dream of doing. People behaved completely different in a group. They got new personalities. He found it easier to talk to one person at a time. To find out what they were really like.

Felix's hand slipped from Hideaki's hair and instead moved to caress the man's cheek.

"Well I'll be more than happy to help you with that, meeting new people is something I am pretty good at."

Felix was a much more social person, he was confident and able to converse well with others.

Though the older lycan did seem to unravel him slightly, whether it was because this man had sired him, or because he felt for him more than he did others.
