Did Lyo trust the two of them enough to let Maks come home tonight rather than giving him another day of rest?

No, not really. "One more day won't kill us." It was safer to just keep him in the one more night than to take him home and havae to come back in a couple of days.

It gave Maks another night to just lay and rest rather than having to share a bed with Lyo and his fussy ass.

"I've gotten good at changing dressings." He'd probably cleaned out more wounds and changed more dressings over the years that he'd been alive than all of the student doctors combined.

Between a toddling Sonia running around when he had been babysitting (before daddy dearest had moved them away to a little town), Maks growing up and his own bumps and bruises, he had a lot of scrapes and cuts to dress.

"Alright then, In that case I'll be heading off, everything is looking good, just make sure not to pull his stitches."

He warned softly as the students hurried out of the room.

"Ring for the nurse if you need anything and try to get him to eat something later this afternoon."

With that he left too, leaving Maks and Lyo alone.

Lyo nodded.

Now Maks was conscious and out of the red-zone, he would become a perfect angel to the nursing staff.

He was relieved that Maks was awake again.

"Must have been difficult for you not to try and open your trap for so long," he teased when the door closed. Maks had been silent through all of that. Even with a slit through, Lyo had thought he would have at least tried to talk. That was just who Maks was; a loudmouth that always had something to say.

It was something he loved about him.

"Fuck you."

Maks mouthed with a smile, he was still kind of groggy from the medication but now that he had those tubes out of his arm he could move a little more.

He pet the bed next to him again, he wasn't letting Lyo stay all the way over there.

Especially now that he knew just how lucky he had been.

"Not for a few days. If I pop those stitches, he'll probably come up with some medical BS about me needing a very painful castration."

He tilted his head to the door, gesturing vaguely to the asshole doctor that had just left.

The asshole doctor that, granted, had actually been pretty all right now Maks was awake and he had mellowed out.

Lyo was up in bed and wrapped around his boyfriend mere seconds after the invitation had been given.

Maks laughed, a decision he regretted immediately as he cringed and did his best not to clutch at his throat.

Fuck that had hurt.

He shot Lyo a soft glare, comedy would be a big no for the next few days.

Maks made himself comfortable, curling in against his boyfriend's chest.

"I'm not allowed to make you laugh, or fuck you. I suppose punching you when we inevitably blow up at each other is a bit of a nono as well, huh?"

The next week or two was going to be rough for the two of them.

He wasn't looking forward to it.

Maks gave a little huff out of his nose, this situation sucked, their main three activities were off the table for a while.

Still, Maks moved closer, curling into the man. At least they were both alright now.

His fingers moved on Lyo's bare back again, drawing simple images on his skin.

"You're going to need to stop touching my back for a while soon," Lyo reminded him as he cuddled closer to his boyfriend.

"I still plan to get that tattoo soon. The snake one we designed not so long ago? You touch that after I've had it done, I'll belt you, stitches or not."

He wasn't going to be a happy camper if Maks took it upon himself to prod and poke at such a big tattoo while it was being done.

Maks gave a soft huff out of his nose before his hand slid over the man's hip, sliding over his stomach teasingly.

Even beat up as he was, he could still tease Lyo a little.

His arms slid around the man again as he held him close, he felt better just being near the man, or it could be the meds kicking in.

"You're going to have to try harder if you want to give me a hard-on. I've had an entire two minutes sleep in the last three days. Too tired to get it up."

He pressed a light, careful kiss to Maks' lips.

"Let's try to get some sleep. Sleep it off and we'll be out of here quicker."

Maks kissed him back, yawning softly with a little nod as he curled into the man's chest.

He was groggy anyway, he hoped a little sleep would clear his mind a bit.

It didn't take long before Maks passed out in Lyo's arms.

Lyo woke hours later when the door to Maks' room opened and a meek woman from the cleaning staff walked in with his dinner order.

"Thanks," he muttered groggily as he carefully untangled himself from Maks and got up from the bed.

He moved to the chair so he could eat without disturbing Maks. He'd wake up up and attempt to feed him once he'd eaten.

He could pass his yoghurt dessert so Maks could try and eat. He doubted Maks would be wanting anything much more solid than that for a while.

Maks gave a quiet little whine as Lyo untangled himself and left the bed.

He didn't wake though, he simply curled up and dozed, bundled up in the thin hospital blankets.

He wasn't looking that bad now that the IVs and monitors had been taken off of him, at the very least with his back turned you couldn't see the gauze wrapped around his neck.

Lyo was quick to finish his hotpot, then he leaned over the bed. He rested his hand gently on Maks' shoulder and shook with the slightest of nudged.

"Maks, wake up. You've got to try and eat something."

He perched at Maks' hip as he tried to rouse him.

"Eat something and then I'll let you sleep again."

Maks eyes blinked open slowly, waking up with all those painkillers in his system was difficult, they made him so sleepy.

Still, he rolled onto his back gingerly, gripping onto Lyo as he pulled himself into a sitting position.

His lips pursed at the thought it eating.

He helped Maks sit up and adjusted the blankets around his waist and the pillow behind him.

"Don't pout, I'm not making you eat anything terrible."

He held up a pot of raspberry yoghurt. "Just try to swallow a few mouthfuls and I'll be happy."

He peeled back the foil cover and dipped the spoon into the creamy dessert. "Here comes the aeroplane. Nyooom." He tilted the spoon, simulating the flying plane as he bought the spoon to Maks' lips.

Maks gave Lyo a dull glare as he tried to feed him like an infant, giving the man a slap upside the head, only to cringe as the movement hurt his neck.

Grudgingly he opened his mouth for the yoghurt, if he ate a few mouthfuls he could go back to sleep, the sooner he slept, the sooner they could go home.

Lyo laughed as he was whacked, but the grin left his face when Maks cringed.

"Be careful. If you pop your stitches, Im going to be blamed and I do not want that."

He managed to make the areoplane noises again, though, as he scooped a second spoon into Maks' mouth.

Maks just had to suck up the treatment for now.

It was either that or pop his stitches and be forced to stay here longer.

With a peevish look he swallowed the mouthful of yogurt, it burned down his throat and his mouth tasted metallic.

Eating was pleasant at the moment but he still opened his mouth for the second spoonful, he had to get better quick so Lyo would stop looking so worried.

He changed up the aeroplane for the choo-choo train about half way through the yoghurt pot, just to see Maks get more ticked off.

Seeing him with his usual annoyance was comforting to Lyo.

He'd take that over the cringes of pain any day.

Maks gave a little growl as he took another mouthful, he felt like a baby now, being fed yoghurt from a choo-choo train spoon, unable to talk and stuck in bed.

He almost finished the entire pot before he softly prompted Lyo to stop.

If he forced himself to eat any more he was going to throw up, a prospect he didn't like the sound at the moment.

Instead he held onto the man again and laid down the pressure of supporting his head as he lay back was a little painful but he gave a relieved sigh once he was laying back down.

Lyo was pleased Maks had eaten that much, so when he was prompted to stop, Lyo put the spoon in his own mouth and licked off the yoghurt.

"Indirect kiss," he chuckled before quickly finishing off the pot himself.

He hovered like a concerned mother hen as Maks laid back.

"Want a direct kiss?"

It would have been funny, seeing Lyo treating him like he was fragile, that was if he didn't feel like he was fragile at the moment.

"Yeah."

He mouthed, even feeling like this a kiss sounded good, he'd never say no to Lyo kissing him.

Lyo's kiss was gentle. Long and slow and tender. His hand brushed Maks' hair gently out of his face and stroked over the younger boy's cheek.

"A couple more weeks and hopefully you'll be back to normal."
