Call From An Old Friend

Moe lay sprawled out on the couch, one hand on her stomach, the other holding a phone to her ear.

She chatted avidly with the person on the other end in Japanese, looking more like a teenager than she ever had in all her time in the Coven.

The woman had missed the few friends she held dear to her in Kobe and it had come to a great surprise that, after over half a year, one of her closer friends had given her a call.

The woman gave a loud scream, bolting up into a sitting position.

Zeke had been sprawled outside on the lawn reading a music magazine when he heard Moe scream.

Panic rushed through him and he bolted into the house and rushing to Moe's side in an instant.

"Moe what's wrong, why did you scream!?"

He muttered quickly, looking over the woman to see if she was alright.

Moe gave a loud bubbly laugh, clutching at the phone in her grip.

"They're coming, they're coming," she sang, pushing herself to her feet and wrapping her arms around Zeke.

A bright grin spread across her face as she clung to her husband and nuzzled against his chest.

"They're coming. You get to meet them."

He groaned and slumped against her.
"Moe you almost gave me a fucking heart attack! I thought something was wrong with you and the pups."

He down at her with a soft glare before his face smoothed out and he hugged her back.

"Don't so that again, who's coming?"
He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Sorry, sorry, I just couldn't help it."

She smiled up at him brightly when he glared down at her. She was excited beyond belief and it showed clearly on her face.

"Akuma and Kazuki!"

She hugged Zeke tighter. "I haven't seen the in ages and they're coming here! oh, I can't wait! We have to get a spare room ready for them. Oh, I hope the two of them will be okay. Zeke, I'm so excited!"

He shook his head and a small smile slowly crept onto his face as he looked down at how excited she was.

Zeke could not stay mad at her when she looked like that, at least these people visiting had perked her up a bit, she had seemed down for the last few days.

"Friends of yours?"
He asked as he pulled himself up to sit on the couch with her.

"Uh-huh." She gave a little nod as she curled up against Zeke's side.

"I met Akuma in Tokyo on a... on a mission." She had been sent to kill the woman's father and couldn't leave Akuma to fend for herself.

"And Kazuki is a friend of mine that I met at a music store in the mall."

She gave a little giggle. "I'm sure you'll like them."

"Any friends of yours are friends of mine."
So far it seemed that most the people that Moe was attached to he generally liked and the few people she dislike he had as well.

"When are they coming?"
He asked, he wanted time to get the spare room all set up, he didn't want Moe stressing about it and trying to help too much, he wouldn't be letting her do any heavy lifting any time soon.

"They said they'd try and get flights for late next week." They had just over a week to get the spare room cleaned up and ready for the two of them.

They could do that easily.

She pursed her lips. "Neither of them know any English so I'll have to play translator for you." Both Kazuki and Akuma were young and hadn't taken their English classes in school any further than that.

If Moe wasn't around, she had a feeling that her old friends would be keeping their own company instead of trying to socialise with Zeke.
