[O] Blind Date

His mouth went slack and his eyes went wide.

That was definitely not what he meant! He felt guilty that Martin even thought that was what he implied.

"Look, I'm-"

Before he could get his words out he was interrupted by the short haired woman.

For a split second, Marty's face looked scared and his shoulders tensed up, as if he was a little kid who had just been caught by an abusive step-mom with his hand in the cookie jar.  

But he quickly changed facial expressions, narrowing his eyes towards her in a scowl, his lip curling slightly. 

"D'ya always have t'yell?  Christ'n'cupcakes." He hissed, trying to hide the blush coming to his face from being utterly humiliated by her in front of a whole crowd of people, including another vampire no less. He could feel every pair of eyes on them.   

If only he'd been high in that moment, then he wouldn't give two shits about the little vampire cursing and treating him like she was in charge of him.  

That's why drugs were so much better than no drugs.

"When you're being stupid, getting information through that thick skull of yours requires me yelling," was her quick and snappy reply. "If you want me to stop yelling, stop being stupid."

She cocked one hip and planted her hand on it. "Seeing as that's not likely, I see a lot of yelling in the near future."

She clicked her fingers then pointed at te door over her shoulder with her thumb. "Get. We have things to do. We can't spend all our time dallying at your whim."

Richard sat dumb-folded, not too sure in how to take in the scene in from of him. This whole experience was just becoming weird.

This woman though, he didn't like how she spoke to Martin. She didn't have to be so rude about it all.

Hearing the short, angry woman order Martin to up and go, he quickly spoke up.

"Hey, Martin. Look, that was not what I meant. I am sorry."

A rushed apology, but he wanted to get his words out before he was dragged off.

Marty looked both defeated and bitter that she was publically humiliating him like this.  But there wasn't really anything he could do about it.  

His entire life he'd always been a fighter.  But the last few decades had made him feel older and more worn out than ever.  For the first time, Marty was starting to give in.  

His entire body always hurt, thinking was hard, he had no home.  Beggars couldn't be choosers.  

He started to follow Cade but then stopped when he heard Richard spoke.  

Well that was.... nice.  And unexpected.  Richard didn't really have to say that.  

Marty wasn't used to kindness, even in insignificant small doses.  

The kindest person he'd met in years was Doc but Marty figured Doc was an isolated case.  

And Doc probably wouldn't be too kind to him anymore, should they actually run into each other.  He'd have every right to be pissed off after what Marty did.  

He gave Richard a grin and a wink, letting the blonde vamp know all was well between them.  

"Bye Dickie." He said, quickly following after Cade before she started yelling again.

Cade rolled her eyes when her partner stopped and reached out to grab the front of his shirt, yanking him along jerkily behind her.

She was being purposefully jerky as she walked, taking a few steps then yanking at his shirt to pull him along. His neck was probably going to be sore with the amount it was bobbling around.

"We need to find that butch bitch and get her back home. You can't just run off like that. Fuck sake, we might have already caught the bitch by now."
