[C][M] Too Little, Too Late

"You can help yourself to some of my clothes."

He called over as Dario sat on his couch, the human was much bigger than him but his clothes were baggy enough that they would fit him, just.

Doc know how to deal with physical pain, emotional pain like this was something he wasn't overly confident with dealing with.

"Do you want something to drink?"

He offered as he padded back into the kitchen, in the time Dario had been in the bath he had changed his own clothes into something more lazy, track pants and a jumper before sitting to watch television.

Dario nodded in response to the man, but didn't move.

He could get clothes later. Right now he didn't care whether he put any clothes on or not.

"No thanks." He wasn't thirsty.

He just sat there, staring silently at the TV for a long while.

He'd be fine later. He'd push this to the back of his mind and carry on with life like nothing had happened.

But for now he felt vulnerable. He couldn't hide it and pretend he felt okay right now.

He nodded softly, perhaps it was best just to leave him for now to work things over in his own head.

Deacon didn't want to push him and cause more damage to him.

"Alright then, I'm going to head to bed, you're more than welcome to stay here. You can sleep in my bed or on the couch if you don't want to be near me at the moment, blankets are in the laundry closet."

He replied, he understood, Dario had just witnessed him kill a handful of people, he was surprise the man was still here and hadn't tried to climb out of the bathroom widow.

With that he padded back to his bedroom, climbing in and pulling the blanket over him.

Dario had always known that something was not quite right about Doc's morals.

He was the supplier around here. He knew that. He'd known that for a long time.

He'd been young and still very much into drugs when Doc had first appeared in the area. He'd never actually met him back then. He was addicted, yes, but he'd never gone too far. He didn't want to end up in the position his nephew had been in not long ago.

When he first heard Doc introduce himself, there had been a niggling in the back of his mind, telling him that he knew that street name.

Doc had been a supplier for a long long time.

You could only go for so long in that line of work before you saw so much death that you became hardened against it. And when you became hardened against it, you started thinking little about people dying.

He'd never questioned how far Doc would go when he stared death in the face.

Deep down he'd always known.

And he didn't care. He liked Doc. He...he wouldn't go as far as saying he trusted him. But he knew he'd be safe enough with him.

That was what stopped him from leaving when he had the chance.

Doc kept people at an arms length, always leaving them guessing about his true intentions.

He did feel remorse for what he had done tonight, amongst the men currently hanging from those rafters some of them were probably husbands, boyfriends, fathers.

There were going to be some people who viewed their death and a tragedy without knowing what those men had been capable of.

Still, even if he had walked out of there with Dario and left the men alive, they would come back, men with egos like that didn't like being pushed around, they would come back after both of them.

It was kill, be killed or let Dario become a piece of ass to be sampled for a price.

In that situation, when he was forced into a corner, he chose to kill.

Dario stood up after a couple hours of staring blankly at the black TV screen.

He made himself a hot coffee and lent against the counter as he sipped at it.

When he was done, he padded over to Doc's room and slid under the covers, pressing close to the Warlock. He wanted to be close to someone right now.

Hug someone and have them whisper that it was all right to him as they ran their fingers through his hair.

For now sleeping pressed against the Warlock would do.

Deacon woke groggily as Dario slid into his bed, a soft smile gracing his lips as the man pressed close to him.

He definitely hadn't expected this, he was still waiting for the man to run out of his apartment in absolute horror.

Without a word he rolled over, wrapping his arms around the man and pulling him closer, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead.

"Go to sleep."

He cooed softly, his hand stroking through the man's hair, Deacon would guard over him tonight, make sure that he was alright.

He allowed a small smile to curl his lips as the man pressed a kiss to his forehead.

He hadn't ever thought they'd be affectionate like this. He'd always thought of them as a strictly-sex pair. They met up, had sex, then left most of the time.

The affection was...nice but not something he wanted from someone with the relationship he had with Doc.

Tomorrow they could go back to normal. Right now he'd enjoy the little affections.

After tonight their relationship would go back to normal, but for now he would allow himself to offer up this affection, Dario needed it and the man had always given him what he needed.

"I know I am a client, but if you ever need my help, I will always be there for you."

He muttered, nuzzling his face in against the man as he held him close.

He hoped one day they could be friends with one another, he did enjoy the man's company and wanted to see him happy.

Dario was barely awake enough to hear what Doc had said.

A few moments later, a soft snore sounded.

He was gone.

For now he was in a land of dreams where reality couldn't reach him. He was safe.

Until morning came and reality shattered the dreams.

He just hoped that he got a grip over himself by that point.

A small smile spread across the man's face as Dario started to snore.

That was a start at least, he could sleep it off for a while and hopefully when he woke he wouldn't feel so horrible about everything.

Deacon settled in, laying up against him as he let his eyes slide shut, joining Dario as he too fell asleep.

The human had a restless night.

He found himself awake numerous times during the night, but after some time managed to fall back asleep again.

After the sixth time he had done that, he finally decided that sleep was a hopeless venture and slid out of bed, heading towards the kitchen.

In the kitchen, he cracked his knuckles and got to work. There was nothing better for trying to forget worries than cooking.

Doc was going to wake up to a big breakfast.

Deacon usually slept like a log, once he was out there was little chance of waking him before he was ready to get up.

He doze through all of Dario's tossing and turning, simply rolling over to give the man more room to move before falling back asleep.

The red haired man murmured softly in his sleep before bundling in his blankets as Dario got out of bed, burying himself among them.

An hour later saw the human piling two plates high with pancakes, bacon, egg and home-made hash browns.

It wasn't the best cooked, but everything was still very much edible and smelt good enough that his stomach was growling loudly, demanding he dig into his. Now.

The human ignored his stomach and moved to prop open the bedroom door.

"Breakfast," he called as the smell of breakfast wafted past him to fill the bedroom.

Deacon's head popped out of the blankets instantly as the smell of food entered his room, a loud purring rumbling in his chest.

He could smell pancakes and bacon, he was sold right there.

The Warlock sat up instantly, rubbing his eyes as they refocused, a smile gracing his lips.

"God that smells good."

He muttered, reaching out desperately for it.

Dario chuckled softly as he watched Doc reach out for the source of the smell.

"Kitchen. The only food we eat in the bedroom is during sex."

Strict rules that he always followed.

"Come get it before it gets cold."

He'd put a fair amount of effort into cooking it. He wanted to see the Warlock enjoy it.

Deacon huffed for a moment before bounding out of bed and heading for the kitchen, sitting at one of the stools at the counter.

He dragged the large plate of food toward him with a soft groan as he picked up a piece of bacon and put it in his mouth, chewing contently.

"So good."

He muttered with a purr of appreciation, he was starving and breakfast was his favourite meal.

Dario lent against the counter watching Doc eat contentedly with a little smile.

It was nice knowing people liked his food.

His sister and nephew never took the time to thank him for cooking for them every night.

He chewed happily on a piece of hash brown.

Having a good big breakfast like this was rare for him. He was happy to take the time to enjoy it.

"You're amazing, thank you."

He muttered with a smile as he cut into a pancake, there was only so many times that you could eat pub food before you began to get sick of it.

Actually having someone in his kitchen cooking for him was a real treat.

Plus, not having to cook it himself made it taste all the better.

"I wouldn't go that far."

His cooking was edible at best. It wasn't something he'd brag about.

It got him and his family by. That was good enough. It wasn't like he was going to open a small business selling his cooking so he never had to worry about it being perfect.

"Stop taking and eat. Anything you don't eat now will be used in foodplay later."

Deacon chuckled as he bit into a hash brown, at least Dario's food was edible, anything that he tried to cook would probably end up giving someone food poisoning, or worse.

There was little to no line between edible and amazing in his book.

He quickly became quiet as he cut into another pancake and stuffed it into his mouth greedily.

Deacon really was hungry and as tempting a foodplay sounded he wasn't sure having sex so soon was such a good idea.

Going back to how things were was Dario's best defense right now.

If he could pretend that it was all just a bad dream, he could go on.

It was that moment when he started thinking about it that he knew that would be the end of his self control.

He just needed to go back to life as normal and put this behind him.

And normally he'd joke about, and then proceed to have, that sex.

It was obvious that Dario was trying to forget all about it, as such he had no intention of bringing it up at all.

What was done was done and it couldn't be taken back now.

He gave a soft yawn before finishing off a large portion of his plate, until only a few small scraps were left behind.

Deacon gave a satisfied groan before laying back in his seat, his hand stroking against his now full stomach.

Dario licked the back of his fork then set it down on his empty plate a few moments after Doc finished.

That had been good.

He gave himself a mental pat on the back. He had cooked that rather well. Better than usual at the very least.

"Didn't even leave enough for a good play," the human tutted as he picked up the man's plate and dumped it in the sink full of hot water.

"Should never fill my plate then expect there to be anything left over."

He replied with a chuckle, a smirk pulling at his lips as he looked over at Dario.

If there was food, he ate it, it was a rarity that he ever left anything behind.

"Besides, you happened to make some of my favourites."
