Brandusa stalked through the hallways quickly, her long legs taking large strides as she moved purposely through the dark halls, following her nose.

Her trench coat billowed out around her and the heavy bags over her shoulders bobbed and swayed with each step.

Th Halfling's grip tightened around the hand clasped in her own and she turned a little grin over her shoulder as the two of them walked through a set of open doors and into a large kitchen.

"Cook; I'm starving," she ordered, letting go of the boy's hand and pushing him forwards. They had been travelling all day and had only had three meals. Dusa was used to eating whatever Noah cooked at least five times a day.Only having three meals had left her ravenous.

"Go on, quick. I'm wasting away here!" She dumped her bags to the floor and pressed a hand to her flat stomach.

Noah practically tripped over himself in an attempt to keep up with Brandusa, she was taller than him, and one step of hers amounted to about three of his shuffled steps, if it weren't for her hand keeping him up he would've fallen over as soon as they had entered the mansion.

Stumbling forward as he was shoved he hurried to the fridge, not bothering to answer her, Dusa was use to him not talking much and right now she didn't want to hear his words, she wanted to hear to hissing of a pan on the stove.

He brought his fingers to his lips as he opened up the large fridge, this kitchen was so well stocked that it was almost overwhelming.

With a soft whine he grabbed out some steak, he needed to cook fast, there was no time for something complicated, the longer he took the more demanding and foul tempered she would become.

Noah turned on the stove hastily and put on two large steaks, knowing that she would end up eating most of his anyway, it was a rarity that he ate much.

Bradusa almost collapsed in one of the chairs around the large table, stretching out in a very catlike manor with a low moan.

Her hands moved to the buttons of her coat, pushing it over her shoulders so it laid out over the back of the chair.

She pushed off the floor, tilting the chair back and resting her muddy boots on the table.

"Its been hours since I last ate anything... Hours. Its a wonder I haven't wasted away into nothing." Her head tilted back over the back of the chair, hat falling from her head, so she was looking at the older Lycan upside down.

"We can go look for our room after I've eaten."

A small smile graced him lips as she continued to whinge, Dusa thought with nothing but her stomach, it was quite amusing to watch sometimes, other times it was just plain frightening.

"Drama queen."
He muttered softly, the words barely audible over the sizzling of the pan, Noah got to work and cut up some potatoes, slicing them into thin chips before tossing them into the pan to shallow fry.

The smaller Lycan sliced a small piece off of the large steak before placing the rest of it onto a plate, along with the other one.
His portion was about the size of his small palm where as her's covered most of the dining plate.

She liked her meat bloody, not his taste, so as such he left his piece in the pan to cook while he served hers, loading the plate up with fries.

Walking over to the table he placed her food down, moving his hand away quickly in case she tried to maul it off, he slid the cutlery across the table to her, not wanting to get too close before wandering back to the stove.

She stuck her tongue out childishly.

She heard the tone of his voice carry but not his words. She had just assumed that he had gibed her with a little insult the same as he usually did. Vampires were known for their amazing hearing; Lycan had a better sense of smell and Necromancers were only slightly above human in all of their senses. She wouldn't have been able to hear him even if the pan wasn't sizzling away.

"Noah, you're a star."

The woman almost lunged for the plate, managing to pull her legs from the table and set her chair upright again in a split second, reaching over to the cutlery that he had nudged towards her with one hand as the other picked up a handful of fries.

She set the cutler down on the plate and lifted her hand to yank down the bandanna around her lower face so it hung around her neck.

The Halfling purred loudly around the mouthful of chips.

Noah glanced over his shoulder at her and shook his head, she was hopeless when it came to food, though most Lycan were to be fair.

A small smile graced his lips and his cheeks had the faintest dusting of pink on them, being complimented always made him blush, even if only slightly.

The male Lycan adjusted his beanie as he finished cooking his food and set out a plate for himself, his portion was about a fifth of the size of hers but then she was much bigger than he was.
Noah had always been a runt, even when he was human.

He settled down on chair across from her and poking at his food with his fork before cutting off a small piece of meat and popping it into his mouth.

The girl's eyes lifted to Noah.

"You better eat all of that," she grunted around a mouthful of food.

Brandusa didn't have the best table etiquette when it wasn't needed. And right now with Noah, it wasn't needed.

"If you dont eat it all, I'm shoving the rest of it up your ass, plate and all."

That was her usual threat. And Noah hadn't left a morsel after being threatened like that because he knew she would do it if he left anything.

Noah didn't eat enough and that was her way of encouraging (read:scaring) him into eating what he could.

The boy's dark silver eyes flicked up to look over at her, his brow furrowing slightly as she spoke.

Despite the age difference Dusa was much stronger than he was, if she decided to follow through on her threat then he would not stand a chance, as far as Lycan's went he was more of a kitten than a wolf, but then again even kittens have claws, he was a hamster, a very timid hamster.

A small shudder ran down his spine, like it did every time she threatened him with physical violence and he looked back down at his plate, nodding softly.

"...okay..."

Three meals a day was far more than enough for him but if Dusa ate then he had to as well other wise he would risk being force fed.

With that said he brought another piece of steak to his mouth, he didn't have a choice but to eat it all.

"Guter ...Junge..." It was very broken, but recognisable if you strained.

She had been trying to learn German from him for weeks. She didn't have much patience so her German was still very broken. She needed to pay more attention to him when he was attempting to teach her.

The girl stuffed a large mouthful of steak and chips into her mouth, chewing happily.

She loved blood soaked chips. They tasted awesome.

"We'll rest here for a little while then carry on searching for him." She had told Noah that she was searching for her father. She hadn't given him any reasons or told him what she would do when she found her father, though.

But right now they had been travelling non-stop. A few weeks break would do the both of them good.

"Sollte nicht anrufen eure Ältesten 'Jungen'."
He muttered quickly under his breath, knowing that she would have no idea what he had just said, he never would have said it if he knew she would be able to pick up on it.

Noah gave a nod and let out a relieved sigh, he would be nice to rest for a while, travelling so much made him tired, traveling with Dusa made him even more tired, she wasn't the easiest person to live with but she'd be damned if she let him anywhere out of her sight.

"Do you think we are getting close?"
He asked, his voice was soft, gentle, much more feminine than her voice, though looking at him most people assumed he was a girl until he spoke, he may have a gentle voice but there was a small hint of masculinity about it that usually indicated to people what gender he was if they were not sure.

Dusa stared dumbly when he spoke.

"I have no clue what you just said." Neither did she really care what he said. If it was important, he would have said it in a language she understood. English. Or perhaps the little bit of Russian she had forced down his throat.

The girl shrugged. "Dunno. I haven't been able to track hide nor hair of him."

She was just...wandering. Hoping to pick up something. See his name on a roster in a hotel or see a picture of him in a newspaper or catch his half-forgotten scent somewhere.

So far nothing. Nothing since he had walked out on them ten years ago.

A shy smile graced his lips.
"That was the point."
His dainty fingers covered his lips as he let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head, he wouldn't be able to do this in the future if she learned German, though at her current rate, that was never going to happen.

"I hope we find him soon."
He replied, chasing a piece of meat around his plate with his fork, Dusa seemed keen to find him but they had not been having much luck lately, just dead ends, it was rather obvious that they were just chasing shadows until they found a clue as to where her father had gone.

Noah hadn't really signed up for the search, he got dragged around everywhere that she went by force, whether he wanted to go or not, it had been that way ever since she had found him.

Her nose wrinkled and she stuck her tongue out at him childishly.

"I'm going to be fluent soon and then you'll never be able to do that again." Bullshit. There was no way she would become fluent in German with her attention span.

She only knew the languages she did because her mother and father spoke in them constantly and if she wanted to understand what they were saying, she needed to know the languages.

"Yeah...me too."

Her eyes flickered downwards for a moment, resting on the blade holstered to her thigh before returning her gaze to her plate.

Brandusa got moody when ever the subject of her father got brought up, and a grumpy female Lycan, even a halfling was something to be feared, as such he swiftly dropped the subject before they even moved onto it.

Quickly he finished up the rest of his food and pushed his empty plate away, he had that awkward overly full feeling in the pit of his stomach, he wasn't fond of it but it was better than the alternative.

When it came to his eating habits Dusa was a tyrant, then again she was strict about a lot of things when it came to him.

The older Lycan gave a soft yawn, stretching his arms up above his head.

Dusa smiled softly when Noah pushed away the empty plate.

Since he had started travelling with her, he had been eating much better. She was glad for that. He was such a tiny thing; he needed to eat more.

She gave a little snort and reached over the table, poking his stomach when he stretched his arms above his head.

"When are you going to learn that I'll always do this when you stretch?" she chuckled as she settled in her seat again.

She loved picking on the older wolf.

Noah gave a soft yelp/squeaking noise as he was poked, quickly curling into a ball, his feet pulling up onto the chair as he hugged his knees to his chest, his eyes narrowing at her slightly.

He always did that, as soon as she touched a vulnerable area he would instinctively curl up as tight as he could, like an armadillo.

"I was hoping that you'd realize that I don't like it and stop doing it."

He huffed, resting his chin on his knees.
This had been a constant ever since they had met, she would pick on him no matter how many times he'd tell her to quit it, she got far too much joy out of it.

The girl snorted. Loudly.

"Yeah, right. What world have you been living on?"

There was no way she'd stop picking on him just because he didn't want her to. Not a snowball's chance in Hell that would happen. Ever.

"Done!"

The girl stood and picked up their plates, heading towards the sink. Noah cooked, she cleaned. That was one domestic thing she knew how to do. She couldn't cook to save her life but she could clean with the best of them.

Noah's fingers only just peeked out from his over long sleeves, it was hard finding clothes that fit him because he refused to go into the children's section of the store, instead opting to buy clothes a few sizes too big in the vain hopes that he might grow into them.

The Lycan nestled down on his chair, pulling his scarf up over his mouth and nose as he rested his chin on his knees, occupying himself by playing with the longer strands of his silvery-white hair.

"Obviously the one where people listen to one another."

He grumbled, he knew that she would never stop, but there was no harm in dreaming.

The woman shrugged.

She wasn't going to stop picking on him, even in that mythical world in which people listened to one another.

She just found picking on him far too much fun to ever stop.

Dusa pursed her lips as she cleaned the plates thoroughly, resting most of her weight on one leg.

"This kitchen is great. Bet there's lots of food around." She grinned at the Lycan over her shoulder. She'd definitely be forcing him down here to cook for her a lot. Noah could cook well and with a kitchen like this and so much food, he could cook all sorts for her.

"Nicer than most."
He agreed, nodding slightly as his dark eyes trailed over every detail of the kitchen.

He decided to get up and familiarize himself with everything here, chances were he would spend most of the day down here for the duration of their stay.

Opening up a large cool room he chewed on the knuckle of his index finger softly as he looked into it.

"There are Vampire's here, lots of them..."
He muttered softly, picking up one of the many blood bags that filled the fridge.
That was a rather frightening thought, to stock this many there had to be a rather large demand for them.

Dusa looked over her shoulder.

"And?" she didn't care much for Vampires. She had been raised by Necromancers and Vampires and Necromancers got on well. It was Lycan she was wary about. Some Lycan had gotten the great idea of enslaving Necromancers to bring people back to life. She couldn't do that at her age, but she wouldn't be surprised if they kept her and trained her.

Her mother had found it important to beat the history of Necromancer and Lycan slavery into her head.

"If we leave them alone, they'll leave us alone. Its fine."

She wouldn't let a Vampire with ill intent anywhere near Noah.

He grimaced slightly as he looked at the blood bag, he felt bad for whom ever this blood belonged to.

Putting it back down carefully he wiped his hands on his jeans, he wouldn't be going into the blood fridge again, that was for sure.

Noah was wary of anyone, not just supernaturals, when even a human could over power you, there was reason to be cautious.

If his ears were out they would be drooping, this place was full of people older and stronger than he was, it was likely that he was on the bottom of the food chain here, and even with Dusa protecting him, he didn't like his odds.

"All the more reason not to leave my room."
He muttered.

"If you think I'm going to let you stay up in our room all day you're a lot more stupid than I thought."

She arched a brow at him.

Brandusa was his protector but she wasn't going to imprison him. She wanted him to make friends with people.

She'd have him be social when she felt like being social herself.

Dusa would love to see him having fun and joking around with other people.

"Our room?"
He asked, tilting his head slightly as he looked at her, he was under the impression that this coven had every separated into gender.

"You're the stupid one, not me."
He grumbled softly under his voice, he may not be much physically but Noah was quite intelligent.

"Best way to avoid stepping on people's toes is just to avoid people all together."

He added, if he stayed in his room, he could not possibly make enemies.

"Yes, our room. Me and you sharing a room. As always."

Ever since she had dragged him from the pond, they had been sharing a room. Yes, it had bought on many odd glances - two teenagers (even if one was only a teen in looks) sharing a room. It was ludicrous.

But Dusa didn't care.

She had pitched a fit when Alek had told her that they'd be in separate rooms. There was no way she'd allow that.

She had very calmly explained their situation and convinced Alek to let them stay in the same room.
