Thinking of Jean

Gabriel lay on the bed, trying to read a book. Very unsuccessfully. Patience and maintaining concentration were not his strong points at the best of times, but when you were trying to read something heavy going (he persuaded himself that anything over 100 pages was intellectual), he really started to doze off. Well, not so much doze off as daydream.

He wondered where Jean was at the moment. It seemed like a long time since they had just talked. Jean had seemed to have a much higher sex drive at the moment, and of course, he wasn't complaining, but he kind of wanted to... have a conversation?

God, what had happened to him?

He groaned, rolling over and trying to concentrate on his book.

Jean kicked the bedroom door open, carrying a fairly large box under one arm.

He set it down and leaned against it, running a hand through his hair, pushing it away from his face.

"Evening," he greeted, lip quirking into a smile as his eyes fell on Gabe.

"Evening." he purred in delight to see his lover. "What's in the box?"

He cocked his head inquisitively, putting down the novel as he rolled back onto his front, legs waving idly in the air. Gabriel rather hoped that it would be something from the strip cl-

No he didn't. He wanted a conversation.

"A pole so I can practise in here instead of going down to one of the empty halls." Jean was pretty lazy; he wouldn't go half way across the mansion if he could stay in his room to do the same thing.

He pushed off the box and padded towards his lover, bending to give him a soft kiss.

"How're you tonight?"

Mind. Out. Of the gutter. Now.

Gabriel kissed back happily, shifting to make room on the bed. He patted the duvet beside him, gesturing for Jean to sit with him.

"I'm well, thanks. Trying to read a book without getting bored. Aren't you proud of me?"

He sat on the bed, facing Gabe Indian-style.

"Oh yes, so proud." He patted gabe's head then grinned cheekily. "How many pages did you read before you got bored? Two, three?"

He ran his hands through his hair with a chuckle, stretching out afterwards.

"No!" he replied indignantly, pouting. "Seven."

It seemed like a while since Jean had fed from him, and in a strange way, he kind of missed it. Although it was painful, there was something quite intimate about the feeling of feeding his fledgling, and he felt like it really helped him and Jean bond. But it was good that he seemed to be feeding more recently. Although he was due for another today, if he remembered rightly.

But he'd ease him into it.

"How are you, anyway?"

"Wow, seven. I'm so proud of you." He grinned and cocked his head towards the bookcase next to his bed. "Try reading some of those." Most of them were thick Korean novels, but there were a few American comics and old classic novels.

He nodded with a smile, relaxing back a bit, hands moving from his lap to keep himself up.

"I'm good." He jerked his head to the side, flicking his hair out of his eyes.

He shuddered. "No thank you."

On second thoughts, he might be able to deal with a comic... he leaned over, picking an old copy of Batman, flicking through it idly. No. He would never understand the ridiculous things people came up with nowadays.

"I don't understand. Why is he dressed as a poor imitation of a bat?"

He leaned over to read over the man's shoulder.

"He's a superhero. Hell, his outfit is far better than most. You should see Aquaman's outfit." She shuddered softly; not a great sight. "Though Starfire had the right idea." He grinned widely. "Good old Kori'andr."

He shifted to lean against Gabe's back, chin resting on his shoulder.

"The newer American movie series gave a pretty good explanation on why Bruce dresses as a bat, though." He traced his finger over the Superhero's cloak.

"As a kid he fell down the well and was attacked by bats. He developed a terrible fear of them. He left the city after his parents were killed and trained to become a part of a syndicate called the Leave of Shadows. And then he came back to watch the court case of the murderer of his parents. He became a Superhero - the Batman - to get rid of crime in the City to stop things like what happened to him to others. And his reasoning was because he was terrified of bads and wanted to instil the same terror into the criminals that he hunted."

He smiled. "We'll have to make a date out of watching them."

He smiled, shifting to snuggle into him happily. "Still seems a bit stupid, but it'll be fun if you watch it with me."

The blond rolled over to wrap his arms around his lover with a contented sigh, nestling into his shoulder with a purr. His eyes slipped closed, fidgeting a little as he got comfortable.

"We'll have to get some popcorn."

One of the delights of the modern age that he was slightly more fond of. He couldn't believe he had spent the most part of his existence without it. It was one of the few human foods that he could actually tolerate. That and wine.

"Gabe, it's from a series with martians and an alien with the same name as a herb; let it be stupid. It's amusing and it's still going on after eighty years; lots of people like it."

Him being one of my many fans. DC Comics were amazing.

He hugged the man, nuzzling against him with a smile.

"That sounds great. Can't have a movie marathon without popcorn."

"I suppose you're right." He chuckled softly, kissing his forehead tenderly.

It was nice, just being here with Jean at the moment. There was something very comforting about the warmth of the man's body pressed against him, and how close he felt to him...not in just a physical way either. When he had just been having sex for pleasure, this was something that he had missed. It made him feel vulnerable, yes, but at the same time, it made him feel safe.

How he could feel those two at the same time baffled him.

"Salty or sweet?" he grinned.

"Sweet. Toffee popcorn all the way."

He tilted his head back, kissing Gabe softly, tongue tracing the seam of his lips.

The touch of his tongue wasn't insistent. He just wanted to feel closer to Gabe. He didn't want a rough kiss; he wanted a soft caressing kiss.

He sighed happily into the man's mouth, one hand drifting up his lover's back to cup the back of his neck, a thumb tracing the man's hairline tenderly. His lips gently parted to allow the man entrance, returning the kiss softly with a smile into his lover's lips. Fingers trailed along the man's jaw delicately, memorising every detail.

Jean-Claude purred quietly into his lover's mouth as his soft kiss was returned, hands sliding down his sides to rest on his hips lightly.

After a few long moments he pulled back and rest his forehead against Gabe's smiling softly, blue eyes warm.

"I love you."

He blushed a little in sheer joy, arms wrapping around his lover's waist tightly.

"I love you too." he murmured softly, a gentle smile slipping across his lips.

It made him so happy that this time, Jean had been the one to say it first. Whenever he was the one to say it, it made him insecure, it made him feel vulnerable and uncertain. But now, he felt... loved.

He pressed his lips to Jean's again gently, wanting to feel more of those tender kisses.

His lips quirked into a soft smile.

The man purred as he gave the man another soft kiss.

These slow, lingering kisses were addictive. He would be quite happy giving and receiving them for hours.

He purred quietly into the kiss, caressing the man's lips gently with his before pulling away gently, nudging their noses together tenderly. Lying back on the duvet, he gazed up at him, a contented smile dancing at the corners of his mouth, gazing up at him with warm, cinnamon eyes.

"I like it here." he murmured, nestling into him.

He smiled back at the man, lowering himself to lie next to the older man.

"I do too," he murmured, eyes sliding shut.

This was nice. Yes, he enjoyed the sex, but being able to lie here and just be with Gabe was nice.

His arms slid around his lover's waist, squeezing him affectionately.

"Don't go to sleep just yet." he teased, leaning over to nip Jean's lower lip with a grin. "I'm not the most patient of babysitters."

The younger vampire gave a quiet snort, one eye flickering open to catch Gabe's gaze.

"You're not the babysitter; you're the daddy."

He stuck his tongue out. "I can't picture you being a great dad. You don't seem patient enough to deal with snot-oozing kids." But he had been patient enough to deal with him and his unease with feeding; so he might make a good dad yet.

Gabriel shrugged. "Some of the best parents are the ones who are most like kids themselves."

That was his opinion, anyway. A good Dad was someone who could have fun as one of the kids, not oversee them like some sort of... of... policeman, or something. Yes, he was impatient, and quite melodramatic at times, but he could have fun.

"What's all this talk of kids now, anyway?" he grinned.
