[C] Walking

"Come on, Ada."

Fane tugged on the leash in her grip to try and coax the large fluffy cat on the other end of the leash to speed up its slow pace. She received a yowl in response and a deliberate reduction in pace.

"Ada," the young woman sighed, turning wide, pleading eyes to her pet. "It's dark and cold."

She had expected their walk to be a quick affair, but the two of them had really gotten into playing fetch, and before she knew it, the sun had set. She wasn't really dressed for a cold night and she wanted to get somewhere warm.

Tamara had woken a lot earlier then usual. She was normally up at sunset on the dot. Today she had woken midday. She had tried her hardest to get back to sleep but the hotel mattress was too soft for her liking. Deciding rather than wasting her time in bed she washed herself and have a look at the world around her in daylight for once.

She was glad for her unusual early rising since it meant she could witness this sight in front of her: a cute girl trying to walk a cat.

"Isn't she precious."

She couldn't ignore them. Something that fluffy needed to be pet.

"She can be," came the response. Fane's voice was quiet and quite high. Not quite a whisper, but certainly it wasn't loud by any stretch of the imagination.

Ada looked up at the new person on the scene, then huffed. Her tail curled over her back and she raised her head slightly, giving off an I'm-better-than-you vibe.

Fane's eyes flickered up to the woman and she gave a friendly smile. "She's called Ada," the zana offered.

Tamara's showed the girl a brilliant white smile.

"She looks like a princess."

Crouching down, careful not to rip her jeans, her shinning smile turned to the fluffy cat.

"Hey there Ada. Aren't you a cutie."

He stretched out her hand keeping it lax. He left enough space between her hand and Ada's to give her some space, but close enough to encourage her to sniff her hand.

"She certainly can be." Ada was a real princess at times. Her spoiled little kitty.

True to princess form, she barely gave Tamara's hand a sniff before snubbing her, turning her back. Her tail swatted the Vampire's face.

Fane's cheeks flushed. "I'm sorry. She's- she doesn't really like new people," the woman stuttered out, trying to explain away her cat;s terrible behaviour.

Tamara let out a bubbly laugh at the cat rejection. The little bugger.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it. Princesses are Princesses."

She stood up, her eye line just over the top of the girls head. Tamara noticed the girl had mismatched eyes. She must be blind out of her bad one, or at least mostly. She made sure she didn't stare though or ask about it.

"Dose she normally have walks."

And diva's were divas.

Ada was most certainly a diva.

"Every couple of days. She's usually a house cat, but her breed is well known for excess energy, so I take her for a good walk to keep her from tearing my poor couch apart."

Little kitten Ada had succeeded in killing one of her couches already.

"Do you wan't a hand walking her? I want an excuse to get to know her. Maybe even get treated to fussing her."

To be honest she would of carried her home. She looked too cute to be walking, but she guessed that defeated the point of walking her.

"Besides, it is getting pretty late. It would safer if we walked together - especially in the park."

Although she had a feeling the other girl would be perfectly fine by herself. She was defiantly not human. Tamara would say Elf but that didn't seem quite right.

"Actually I was just on my way home."

Fane scuffed her pastel boot against the dirt, looking a little awkward and embarrassed.

"Maybe you could walk with us for a little while? I'd appreciate the company."

She may have been supernatural, but she didn't have any great strength. If she was ever cornered by a man, she wouldn't have any advantage to her name to get her out of the terrible situation.

"I would love to!"

She turned to the cat and made some, what she hoped was encouraging, smooch-y noises.

"Come on girl." She made some more noises.

She took a few steps in the direction she thought the girl was taking.

"I am Tamara, and you are?"

Her lips tilted upwards slightly when Ada snubbed Tamara again.

"Come on, Ada, play nice." The cat gave a deep yowl again.

Fane's cheeks flushed a deep pink, not too dissimilar from the pink streaks at the end of her white hair.

"Oh, I'm Fane."

"Lovely to meet you too."

She made a few more smooch-y noises. Extending her hand, she rubber her slender fingers together. She wasn't going to give up.

"Have you tried the treat trick?"

"And you, Tamara."

Fane bit her lip to try and hide a smile. "I have no troubles with her." Fane had barely outstretched her hand before Ada was there, rubbing her face against her affectionately.

"She just doesn't like strangers that much."

She smiled, her missing canine showing.

"You are both so cute."

She cooed.

"It is lovely seeing pets and owners get along so well."

Her cheeks, that had just managed to pale again, flushed pink once more at the compliment.

"I've had her since I moved out of my parents house. We've been through a lot together."

She and Ada had spent years together. They were very close, and she constantly doted on Ada.

The girls blushed easily, that was for sure.

"How sweet. It is making me want to have a cat again."

She tried again in gaining the cat's favour but she expected the same results.

"How old is she then?"
