[C] Fresh Meat

The woman looked down at the ground as she was scolded.

"Yes, sir," she mumbled, put out by being told no, but loyal enough to him tht she would follow orders. "I'm sorry for asking."

Cade chewed on her lip, gaze flickering up to Ger before dropping to the ground again.

"I'll...go take him upstairs."

Seeing the girl get contrite made Gerhard sigh again.  
He placed his hand on her shoulder.  
"How about this?  When it is just you two, he may speak Italian.  But you are only to speak to him in English.  Is that fair?" He said.  
He liked making Cade feel like she mattered.  
In reality he was playing her just as much as he was playing anyone else.

She flinched when his hand moved breath hitching in her throat. She didn't start breathing again until his hand laid gently on her shoulder.

A smile brightened up Cade's face. "Thank you, sir."

She leaned forwards to press another quick kiss to Ger's cheek before pulling back.

"Come on." She grabbed Rizzo's sleeve and pulled him towards the door.

Rizzo had kept his eyes glued on Cade the day before.  

But today he was keeping his eyes on Gerhard.  For as crazy and scary as Cade was, Gerhard was even worse.  

Even as the girl grabbed him and started to drag him out of the room, he kept his gaze stuck on Ger for as long as possible.
