[C] Fresh Meat

Rizzo sighed in frustration, rubbing a hand down his face in exhastburation.  He sat back in his dingy computer chair and let his arms slump down to either side of him.  In one hand he held a pencil, but before him was a mostly blank piece of paper, with clipping of fabric glued to the side and a rough sketch of a female figure in the middle.  No clothes yet.  No design.  Nothing.  
Why was he drawing such a blank?  He used to be able to whip up designs with no problem, but ever since he started fulfilling his dream by attending fashion school, it was as if his muse had up and died.  

Inspiration was sparse, and motivation was suffering.  
Angrily he tossed his pencil onto the desk and stood up, grabbing his Reiss overcoat and exiting his charming little one bedroom apartment in Naples Italy.  

The sun was just going down, but he was sure he could still catch a quick cup of a coffee that would hopefully wake up some much needed stimulation.  

It was a short walk to the nearest cafe, Gambrinus.  It was an atmospheric gem located off of the otherwise dirty city streets.  And it was one of Rizzo's favorite places.  He loved the old paintings of wealthy and noble women in long elegant dresses.  He loved the dim lighting.  And he loved the Sfogliatella paired with a steaming cup of coffee.  

He walked inside and offered a brief smile to the girl working behind the counter before placing his order.  As he waited for the girl to make his caffè macchiato, he placed his hands in his pockets and looked around to see if he recognized any of the other regulars.  Unfortunately he did not.

The streets were beautiful. Cadence had hardly had the chance to actually get out and explore the way she wanted to since she had been bought to this country.

But now she'd been given the order to go out, explore and find interesting meals. She finally had her chance to roam.

Her heavy military boots splashed in a puddle as she span in circles in the middle of the street, laughing loudly with her arms spread wide. She must have looked a sight: wearing heavy black combat boots, loose male jean shorts and a plain grey t-shirt that hung off her small frame, spinning around in the streets and laughing like a child.

She couldn't help herself. She could go where she wanted to go and do what she wanted to do as long as she could find a human.

Normally Rizzo liked to eat in the little area outside, but since it had just started to rain, he figured that wouldn't be the smartest idea. The last thing he needed to do was catch a cold.

So he opted to just sit near the window and gaze outside, enjoying the rain from the warm and comfy shoppe.

It was then that someone caught his eye. A young boy was dancing in the streets, a large smile on his face. Rizzo tilted his head, his eyes fixate on the boy. He reminded him of when Rizzo was younger, when he was more carefree and wasn't always so worried about studies and deadlines.

Sipping his beverage, he started to notice something was a little off about the boy. The more wet he got, the more his shirt started to cling to his figure. And Rizzo was almost certain he could make out a pair of small breasts.

Squinting his eyes, Rizzo realized that the boy wasn't a boy at all, but rather a boyish looking woman.

Cade laughed loudly as she ran her hands over her short hair, ruffling and spiking the lengths that usually lay flat against her head.

She felt so free and alive. Joining this Vampire had been the best thing that had ever happened to her.

In her joy, she began humming to herself, her crazzy spinning changing to a more refined dance. She looked like she was holding up the skirts to an imaginary dress as she danced in loose circles with an imaginary partner.

Rizzo found himself captivated by the girl who looked so care-free and alive. Part of him adored her for being that way, and another part of him hated her out of jealousy.

He continued to watch her as he finished up his coffee and dessert. When he was one, he dabbed his face with a napkin and stood up to leave.

He was disgusted with himself as he realized his first thought was worry that his overcoat could get ruined in the rain. He used to love the rain. What happened to him?

Pulling the coat up over his ears, he exited the shop and started to head back home.

Cade's voice, in a deep contrast to her rather masculine appearance, was light and airy as she hummed.

"La dada di da da," she sang in her gentle voice, still happily skipping around in puddles.

She had decided to herself tht he would just enjoy herself until the hours grew closer to midnight. There'd be a better range of people closer to midnight. People that Gerhard would find more amusing she was certain.

When it got later, she would start wandering the streets, looking for someone amusing to pick out.

"I know you," she sang in English. Her voice barely rose above the sound of the rain pattering against the sidewalk. "I walked with you once upon a dream."

Rizzo had gone home and forced himself to whip up a design. He hated it. It looked like something one would find in a Lady Gaga concert. And even though he loved Lady Gaga's music, he wanted his fashion reputation to be far less comical.

He looked at the clock and decided now was probably a good time to fall asleep. So he changed into a light fitting tank top and a fresh pair of boxers and crawled in bed.

But he couldn't sleep. His body was tired but his brain was swirling with thoughts and worries and stress.

He laid there for hours and hours but sleep didn't come. Just a headache.

With an angry groan he finally rolled out of bed and wrapped himself up in his blue Polo Ralph Lauren Velour robe and then sauntered over to his refrigerator and pulled out an entire bottle of Mastroberardino Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio and headed out to the roof, hoping to enjoy the view while getting shitfaced drunk at the same time.

Eventually it got late enough for Cade to start looking.

She wandered the streets, trying to find someone interesting to bring back to her Elder.

Hours passed and no one took her interest.

That bugged her.

Now she was just strolling the streets, hand shoved deep in the damp material of her jean shorts as she skulked through the streets, still looking.

It wasn't a desperate need to find someone tonight, but she did want to prove to her Elder that she was worth something and could be trusted to do this job.

Rizzo wasn't a chugger. But he wasn't a dainty little thing that only took tiny sips either.

He had about three fourths of the bottle down in fifteen minutes, and he was already starting to feel the effect on his system. He felt happier, and sleep was starting to feel possible too.

He wandered over to the edge of the roof and leaned on the ledge, his arms hanging over it and the wine bottle loose in his grasp.

Just as Cade was underneath him, the wine bottle accidently fell from his flimsy grasp.

Cade grumbled to herself as she felt the ticklings of a dry burn in the back of her throat. She was starting to get thirsty.

The woman yelped when she heard a loud crash and felt the spray of glass and alcohol against the back of her bare legs. Her mouth opened as if she was going to yell, but she just lurched forwards a little, no sound escaping her throat.

Not until she'd turned around to look at what had happened and it had clicked in her mind.

Oh, fucking funny. She was feeling thirsty so a bottle of wine dropped right behind her?

She looked up, eyes narrowing a little as she caught the sight of arms leaning over the edge of the building.. She walked backwards into the road, craning her neck to look up at the person.

"Oi, watch it!" she called out, lips curling in an annoyed sneer.

"Oh... my God..." Rizzo said, holding onto the railing and leaning over so he could get a better look.

He himself looked like shit. He had dark circles under his eyes, his hair was messy. And he looked drunk.

But he also looked clean. He was very hygienic, so there was always that.

"Mi dispiace molto. Stai bene? Ti ha colpito voi? Io ... ho asciugamani ... io ... Fammi fam- ottenere un asciugamano." He rambled, his words slurred.

"I am... I am so sorry. Are you okay? Did it hit you? I... I have towels... I... Lemme lem- get a towel."

Cadence gave a loud huff. A clear show of anger.

"Mi meglio avere un asciugamano cazzo!" she called back, her airy voice losing the majority of the quiet femininity that it had when he had been singing.

She was not dealing with wine clinging to her skin, nor the little hairs on her leg. Sticky dry wine was a bitch to clean out of hairs without them pulling and hurting.

You better get me a fucking towel

Rizzo wasted no time in stumbling away, tripping over a sunchair and causing a crash loud enough that Cade would have been able to hear it.  

"Dannazione." He grunted.  

In less than five minutes he was throwing the door to the apartment open and rushing over to Cade with a fluffy kitchen towel that smelled like berries.

Cade rolled her eyes as she heard the loud clatter from the rooftop.

Humans were so clumsy. Really, however did they survive so long?

Cade reached out and snatched the towel from the man's hands without so much as a breath of a thankyou, and bent around awwardly to wipe at the backs of her legs.

She grunted in annoyance as she twisted her legs and spine to try and get a good look at the back of them so she could make sure she got all of the wine.

Rizzo could barely stand up, his head felt really woozy.

"Posso ... uh ... aiutare ... se vuoi." He offered as he watched her bend around awkwardly.

"I can... uh... help you... if you want."

Cade straightened out, glaring up at the man with narrowed blue eyes.

"Non hai fatto abbastanza?" she asked sharply.

But she thrust her tower against his chest and turned around, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Fare un buon lavoro," she ordered, glaring ahead at nothing.

Rizzo awkwardly reached up to grab onto the towel with two hands. He was more drunk than he realized.

"Er.... Non ho capito bene. Tu ... non ... vuoi che ti aiuti?" He asked, his eyes looking spacey.

"Er... I'm confused. You... don't... want me to help?"

Cade threw her arms up with a huff.

"Just fucking do it already!" she growled, slipping back to English in her annoyance. Italian was a language she'd only learned in the past few years. She struggled with speaking the language when she got annoyed.

English had always been her default.

"Fucking useless humans," she grunted, arms crossing back over her chest again.

Rizzo stared at her blankly.

"Um.... no English?" He said, giving her an awkward grin.

Gritting her teeth together, Cade turned on the human.

The tips of her fingers pressed against his throat threateningly as she snarled at him, faintly pink lips curling back from straight white teeth.

"This is why I hate humans. You're all so fucking-"

She exhaed sharply through her nose.

"Pulire le mie gambe cazzo."

Clea my fucking legs

Rizzo took a few steps back when she pressed her fingers to his throat.

Red sirens went off in his head that this person may not be the safest to be around in the wee early hours of the morning. No one else was awake at this time, they were the only ones on the street.

"Mantenere la spugna." He muttered before quickly turning away and heading back for his apartment.

"Keep the towel."

"Non stai andando anche a cazzo di aiutarmi?" Cade threw her arms out and gave a deep sigh.

Then she just laughed.

"Why the fuck did I think you would help? You're all the fucking same."

She span and kicked a little stone. It sailed through the air and hit the brick wall next to the human's knee. A spiderweb of cracks creeped from the impact sight. The little stone she'd kicked had just shattered a brick.

Cade threw the towel at the back of his head. "Inutile pezzo di merda."

Rizzo froze, staring at the crack in the wall.  

What the hell was in that wine?  

He slowly looked back at the girl, his expression like he had just seen a ghost.

"Oh, now you fucking face me? Fuck that!"

She spat at him then turned to storm down the sidewalk.

The woman raised her arm to rub the little bit of spit off her chin, grumbling to herself about useless, infuriating humans.

"Cazzo cagna culo logoro." He muttered under his breath, glad she was finally leaving.
