[C][M] The Summoning

A sad little smile curled Lyo's lips. Just what they used to do.

"Yeah. Yeah, we can."

He tried to force a happier little smirk. "Are you going to be able to deal with the English movies? No Russian movies over here, you know?"

He didn't know how much time he had with Lyo so he was going to spend the rest of it with the man, just being themselves and trying to forget how different things were now.

"That's fine, gives me a chance to brush up on my English, haven't used it in a while."

A very long while.

"So, kitchen?"

"Yeah, right, kitchen."

He'd hardly realised that he had stopped dead at Maks request.

He started walking again, chewing on the inside of his lip.

"Anchovy pizza sound good?"

"Sounds fucking disgusting."

He replied with a laugh, he would never like anchovies, ever.

Made him wish that he could have one of Lyo's cheese pizzas though.

He had only been here a little while and his list of things he was missing was growing larger and larger.

"Yeah, it does," he replied with his own laugh.

He had gone off anchovies years ago. He couldn't even stand the sight of them. The question had just slipped.

They made it to the kitchen again quickly and Lyo made his way towards the pantry.

"Any movie you really wanna watch?"

Maks smiled as he looked up at Lyo, mild surprise taking over his features.

"You don't like anchovies any more? About time you gained your sanity."

He never did understand how Lyo had liked them.

"It would be kinda fitting to watch that new Dracula movie."

He hadn't seen it yet but it got mixed reviews, it would probably be bad but he was so eager to watch it.

Lyo rolled his eyes. "I've always had my sanity, thank you. It's you that never had any. I've gone nuts myself."

Lyo hummed.

"If it's in the game room, we can watch it." He didn't have the film himself, but there were hundreds of films in the games room. There was a chance that it was there.

The man returned to the kitchen with all the ingredients for pizza in his arms.

Maks moved to what would have been his usual spot in the kitchen sitting on the counter between the fridge and the sink, his legs swinging idly as he watched Lyo gather up all the ingredients.

"If not I've sure they have to have something that's good."

He would enjoy himself either way, the familiarity of all of this was already putting him in a calm, happy state.

Lyo picked up pizza making again like riding a bike. He hadn't made pizza in years, either.

The familiarity of it was nice for him, too.

"With as many Supes as there are here, there better be some damned good horror flicks sitting around. I'll be disappointed if there aren't."

Very disappointed.

Maks groan in appreciation of that statement.

"Imagine all the only English horror movies that we missed out on."

They had so many movies to catch up on, so many movies that they were never able to get in Russia.

He would have fun going through all of them and picking out which ones looked the best.

"I've watched a few good ones over the years."

He'd never been able to stop watching horror flicks. It just wasn't in him.

"There's a good Vampire Film I watched about a year after I left Russia. Think you might like that."

He kneaded dough firmly. Muscles bunched and relaxed under his scarred skin.

Maks just sat and admired Lyo, watching how the muscles in his arms moved.

Lyo looked a lot different now but how he moved still stayed the same, his body still reacted the same way to the work out of kneading the dough.

It was the little things he was enjoying, just sitting and watching him. Later he would curl up beside him, just knowing Lyo was there, even if they couldn't touch, made him feel better and a lot less lonely.

"Has it come over to Russia yet? Thirty Days of Night?"

He glanced towards Maks' blurry figure as he continued kneading.

He wanted to hear Maks' voice. He wanted Maks to be chatting his ear off so he knew he was there.

He felt like if Maks wasn't talking to him, he would lose him.

"I don't think so, haven't been able to watch a lot of horror flicks lately.

Danii isn't a huge fan."

Some times he would get lucky and Dani would go out and put a movie on for him, leaving his shirt behind so he could just stay home by himself and enjoy it.

"What is it about?"

"Man, I always knew there was something not quite right about Danii, no matter how much we fucked him."

Not a fan of horror flicks? That was just wrong.

Lyo shook his head slowly.

This little town in America has to deal with thirty days where there's no sun in the winter. In Alaska, I think... And anyway, these vampires attack, tearing everything to shreds. Gory as fuck."

"Yeah he has a few screws loose."

He replied with a chuckle, not a huge fan of horror movies or BDSM and he liked anchovies, so many types of wrong.

"That sounds like a freaking brilliant movie, lets watch that."

He added, if Lyo liked it he was sure to like it as well, the more gore, the better.

"What's he even doing nowadays?"

He was guilty for not keeping up with anyone in Russia besides his mother. He just didn't feel like he could have handled talking to them while he was trying to escape all the memories.

"It is a damned good movie."

He was excited to sit and watch some gore with Maks again.

Just like old times.

"Working and having fun pretty much. He was living pretty rough for a while but we teamed up and managed to get through some stealth jobs so it set him up with a decent wage.

Got his own apartment now, still slutty though, but for fun not out of necessity."

Maks hummed as he watched Lyo, his feet kicking out happily.

"It better be, pick a shitty one and I'll be pissed."

"Danii has always lived rough." Ever since thee three of them had met when Maks and lyo were still teenagers Danii had lived rough. Always going from one place to another and sleeping on whatever couch he could. A fair amount of the time that was their couch.

Lyo chuckled softly. "I couldnt see him not being slutty. He enjoyed it too much. Did you ever get him to admit that he really was kinky?" That was a common debate between the three of them. They could never get Danii to admit that he was jst as kinky as they were. Had Maks hadmore luck in the past eight years? Lyo doubted it.

The Rus gave a careless shrug of his shoulders. "What do I care if you're pissed at my movie choice?"

"What do you think?"

He replied, rolling his eyes, Danii would never admit to that, no matter how much evidence there was.

Maks couldn't help but wonder how Danii would cope without him, he doubted he could keep doing those sorts of jobs now, he didn't wanna see the man end up how he use to be.

"Make me sit through a sitting movie and i'll do worst to you."

Maks hummed and looked around the immense surroundings.

"I feel a little indebted to Danii, he helped me out a lot, I don't wanna see him end up in a bad way again, you reckon he might be allowed here, if it's like a homeless shelter?"

"No luck then." He hadnt expected any different.

Danii lived in serious denial. How could he still go on thinking he wasnt kinky after all the three had done. He remembered one night in particular that was anythiny but vanilla.

"Id like to see you do your worst." What could Maks do to him that was worse than sitting through a shitty film?

"Danii?" Could Danii do that? Could he come over here and stay? He supposed that it wasnt really implausible. He could come over and stay.

Lyo gave a little hum. "He might struggle. Just about everyone speaks english. At his age learning a new language might be tough." Danii was almost forty now. Learning a new language now wouldnt be as easy as it would have been attempting to learn it a few years before.

"I'm sure I could come up with something unpleasant."

No doubt Lyo hadn't been in contact with many ghosts, going through him would be far worse than when he went through Aodh.

Maks snorted a laugh and shook his head.

"You poor old guys, must be so hard when you're minds start to slip away."

He teased, he had to admit, it was funny seeing the other two age while he stayed the same, he did feel a little left behind but you couldn't really expect any more than that when you're dead.

"Uh-huh, sure." He wasn't too worried. Maks' revenge was always more fun than worrying for him.

Lyo snorted and tipped his head to the side.

"I'm not that old." True to his world, he didn't look as old as he was. He barely looked like he had broken twenty five. A good seven years younger than he really was. He wasn't physically ageing any more. Reading spells from that spellbook had done that to him.

Maks gave a huff and ignored Lyo's lack of fear, he would come up with something unpleasant he was sure of it, even if it was simply following the man around screaming so that he couldn't get a wink of sleep for days.

"Actually....you don't really look any older."


He looked different, hair was longer, more tattoos, less bruises, but he still looked the same age that he had been when he died.

"Yeah." Lyo gave a shrug.

He had noticed it before, of course. As he rarely looked in a mirror, to be able to look into it and see the same face that looked back at him almost ten years ago was very noticeable.

"Don't know what's up with that."

He had no idea why he didn't really physically age. He didn't really put much thought into it.
