[O] Morbid Curiosity

Giacinto watched him silently as he fed, leant against the wall, playing idly with a long curl from her high ponyail.

"I've got your back while you hunt."

She wanted to make sure he was all right; that he could function well enough to make it.

"Let's go find something more appetising than a child."

"Alright."

He replied, trying to once again get accustomed to the sound of his own voice, it felt strange to speak again.

He dusted off his robes, still looking strange among the modern surroundings but that could not be helped at the moment.

Amam listened out, making sure no humans were around before he exited the ally way.

He was constantly listening and searching, making sure no one would see him as he walked through the shadows.

He smiled to himself as he picked up the sound of a drunkard a street over, alone.

He moved through the alleyways and crept up behind the man, swiftly snapping his neck before dragging him into the abandoned ally way and drinking quickly, a few more would hold him over.

Giacinto followed behind him as he stalked whatever prey he was looking for.

She stood back and watched him drain a Caucasian man, head tilted to the side slightly. Well, that would be fun for the police to find and explain away.

"Two or three more," she murmured.

"Then we'll go back to our hotel and get you cleaned up a bit better. We can work things out from there."

He behaved enough to go after two more homeless men before stopping.

He couldn't take in any more, his stomach was full and if he tried again he was going to end up throwing up.

"That's enough."

He muttered as he dumped the last body as licked his lips, he did feel a lot better now and he could see the visible changes to his body, it wouldn't be long until he felt and looked like he did all those years ago.

"Good. Now come. We have a hotel in the higher parts of the city."

Giacinto reached out for his hand again. Holding his hand gave her the ability to keep him close. That was to make sure that he didn't wander off and didn't lose control.

After so many years old starvation, sometimes it was difficult to calm yourself, even if you were full of blood.

"Zuri should be on his way back, too."

He took her hand again and allowed her to lead him through the city.

At the very least he had avoided getting himself covered in blood, he knew the importance of not causing a scene.

"Lead the way."

He replied as he walked distractedly, his gaze constantly wandered around the city, every noise and movement drew his attention as they walked.

He drew in deep breaths of the fresh air out in the city, everything was so different and the smells and sights drew him in.

"This place is very different from what it used to be."

The woman's red eyes looked back at the Vampire as he looked around in wonder.

"The Natives here are very different to how they once were. Nubian's aren't so common here any more." From what Zuri had told her, the tomb was sealed around two thousand years ago. By that point, Egypt was heavily populated with Nubians.

"It was so beautiful back then."

He nodded slowly, his attention slit between her and watching a car drive pass.

"I've been watching everything but being out here is...different."

He was glad for his powers being locked in there knowing only of the old world it would be excessively hard to adjust let alone trying to communicate with people.

"You don't live here?"

He had guessed that much seeing as they were going to a hotel and not a home.

"We live north, across the seas in my homeland. In the same landmass as the Ptolemy line originated."

The Ptolemy Dynasty started before the tomb was sealed. Amam should know who she was talking about; know that she was from a land where skin was white rather than the rich brown skin that had always made home in Egypt.

The woman ignored the looks the two were receiving as she led him up marble steps into a large hotel.

She didnt pause, just led him through the foyer towards the elevators.

He nodded knowingly, his consciousness and spread far enough even after his sealing that he knew the lands of which she spoke.

His lips pursed a little as they walked through the hotel, it was clean and nice enough but modern buildings lacked the grandeur of the ones they use to build.

Still, modern innovation intrigued him, they had invented things in the last few centuries that he had never imagined could exist.

On the top floor, Giacinto unlocked a door.

She smiled widely as she stepped into the room, dropping Amam's hand as she stretched her arms above her head.

She bent over to open the room's fridge and pull out a blood bag. Her fangs sank into it as she sprawled out on the bed.

"Sit down for now. Zuri's in the shower. He'll be out soon."

He watched her curiously as she bit into the bag, how odd.

If she was hungry he didn't understand why she wouldn't have just fed while they were out hunting.

Still he didn't question it and instead moved to take a seat by the window, glancing out of it as they waited for the other man.

His eyes were bloodshot from the sudden exposure to sunlight but that didn't stop him from looking out to the vibrant streets below.

She tossed the empty bag over the edge of the bed and stretched out again.

Her hands descended to the button of the shorts she was wearing and popped it. She didn't move to slide the shorts off, though.

"Worst thing about the modern era? Having to wear bras and tight clothing." Her hands slid under the back of her shirt and unhooked her bra, leaving it loose under her shirt. "Much better."

She settled again just as Zuri exited the bathroom, clad in only a white towel wrapped around his waist.

"You don't complain when the bras are lace and the tight clothing leather," he snorted softly as he padded towards his duffel bag laid out on the desk.

"If you dislike them then why not simply wear something else?"

He replied as he continued to stare out the window, sparing a glance as the male known as Zuri stepped out of the bathroom.

He could understand discomfort for the sake of fashion, his people were quite selective about what they wore because it reflected their social status but what he knew of this day and age you could get away with wearing what you pleased.

"It's hard to get away with not wearing a bra in these times."

The woman gave a half shrug. "When you have a chest like mine, its quite easy to tell when you're not wearing one. Lots of nasty whispers and rumours going on then. And they keep the kids in place. Nothing worse than almost getting knocked out by your tits when you're physical sans bra."

Zuri snorted loudly as he dropped the towel and bean rooting around for a pair of shorts to put on.

"Your tits aren't that big."

"You would know, wouldn't you?" the woman purred, rolling over and leering at her son.

His attention turned from the scenery outside to watching the two of them.

They seemed like quite open people, though their current conversation didn't hold much interest to him.

The state of the man's undress did not affect him at all, casual nudity was far more common when he was younger.

"What becomes of me now?"

He asked, he didn't expect them to have all the answers but it was clear that he could not go back to his tomb, nor did he want to.

"That's pretty much up to you now," Giacinto answered with an easy roll of her shoulders. "You've got a couple of options. One: we can hook you up with a coven around here if you want to stay. Ramesses is still around, isn't he, Zu?"

The younger Vampire snorted as he bent down to pull on a pair of cream-coloured board shorts. "Of course he is. And if not, it'll probably be one of his kids. That bastard just keeps on multiplying. He can't keep his dick in his pants of his fangs in his mouth for long."

Tony laughed loudly. "If only he were a few thousand years older and not an Incubus," she purred. "I'd let him put his dick in me and hope he put a bun in the oven. He seems to do well enough with everyone else."

"You want Ramesses to sire your kid? Yous crazy. He a posessive bitch. You aint getting far with his kid in you."

The woman huffed. Her son was right. "I can still help."

He listened and watched the two of them talk, he may have watched the world progress around him but it was still odd trying to get use to how they spoke and their subjects of choice especially around someone they were not familiar with.

"Perhaps..."

He muttered as he thought it over, he wasn't completely sure of what he wanted now, his options had expanded rather quickly and he hadn't dwelled on what he wanted to do if he ever got out.

"Would if be alright if I bathed?"

He asked, looking down at his dust coated skin, he normally presented himself quite well, his Master would have been scolding him horribly if he had looked like this in the past.

"Yeah, go ahead. Shower's through there." Tony tipped her head towards the bathroom. "Holler if you need anything." The woman spared him a smile then turned back to Zuri.

"If not Ramesses, who else is old enough to get me pregnant? Lycus... Nah, that's not happening. I wont be able to cope with a Lycan pregnancy. What other old-as-dirt Vampires and Elves do we know? They'd need to be at least four thousand."

That seriously limited the numbers. "Closer to my age, preferably." That limited the numbers even more.

He nodded and pushed himself to stand, padding toward the bathroom before shutting himself inside.

He managed the water easily enough and stepped under it, letting the cool water soak into his skin and wash away the dirt.

Scrubbing himself clean took a lot of effort and he had to wash his hair more than once before the grit was finally removed.

After a good long while of soaking he finally stepped out of the water and dried off, smiling softly as he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he looked more like his old self now.

Despite his pale body it was easy to see that once he would have had beautiful olive skin, his hair was dark and glossy, tall for a man of his time though average height by today's standards.

His eyes were dark crimson, he had high cheek bones and a strong jaw line. Though he was still too skinny he would fix that soon enough.

He placed his old gown in the bin, it was tattered and the threads breaking with each step so it would not serve him any good.

Instead he wrapped himself in a towel, it would cover more of his body than the gown would anyway.

He searched the bathroom for a moment until he found a set of nail clippers, quickly taking them to his taloned hand and cutting them short before moving to his toes.

All in all he was about as good as he was going to get for the moment.

He pushed open the bathroom door and made his way back out into the room.

When Amam returned, Zuri was laid out on the bed, stroking Giacinto's back gently. The woman was curled up with her face buried against his neck, her shoulders slumped in despair.

Their attempts to form a list was going horribly and Giacinto was having a bad 'what if' moment.

"Yous looking better," Zuri commented as his deep red eyes followed the other Vampire's movements.

"Thank you."

He replied as he moved to sit back in the chair he had claimed earlier, he hadn't had to interact with people in a while and he wasn't entirely sure what to do with himself.

"Is something wrong?"

He asked, looking down at the curled up woman, Giacinto. She looked quite upset and he hadn't quite been following the train of their conversation.

"I wouldn't know where to start with her," Zuri chuckled softly.

He grunted when Giacinto's fist came down on the centre of his chest with a loud thump.

"Yous gonna be the death of me." He rolled his eyes, but his hand came up to lace his fingers with hers in a tender gesture. She cuddled closer to his side.

"She's trying to get pregnant but its hard for her. She's very limited to who she can try to reproduce with and at her age, its extremely difficult."

"Oh."

He replied simply, that hadn't been what he had been expecting to hear.

It was sad really, the woman did look very distressed.

His curiosity was getting the better of him as he watched the two of them.

"Why is it so difficult?"

He asked, wondering if there was something wrong with her, he had seen plenty of old Vampire's have children.

"She had some...troubles with one of her previous mates. She's damaged. Her body cant take a pregnancy unless the baby is extraordinarily strong. Except when the baby's a Lycan. Her body cant take the strength of a Lycan pregnancy."

Zuri still cursed Aleksandr for doing what he did to her. It was that bastards fault that she was having all this trouble now.

His fingers ran through her curls gently.

"She's limited to most Vampires and Elves that are around her age."
