Settling In Empty
PostSubject: Settling In   Settling In EmptyTue Jul 10, 2012 7:42 pm

Aeker sat in the courtyard on one of the bench seats reading his book.

The night was warm but dim, not that it bothered him much, it could be pitch black and he would still be able to see the black lettering of the page in front of him.

He smiled softly his long silver hair covering his back and face as he leaned forward to better view his novel.
Settling into this new environment had been easier than he expected, everyone he had met so far had been more than pleasant.

Aodh had been walking through the halls humming a cheery tune to himself when he caught sight of silver hair out in the courtyard.

Who else would have silver hair that long but Alexis?

The Lycan grinned to himself as he slid out into the courtyard and padded towards the 'woman' silently.

When he was right behind 'her' he dipped his head to nuzzle against 'her' neck, kissing 'her' skin through the curtain of silver hair.

"Evening, kitty-cat."

Aeker went rigid as someone came up behind him and kissed his neck.

His eyes narrowed as he swept the hair from his face and turned to face the man, shutting his book with an audible snap.

Aeker stood, clearly much taller than his dainty little sister, his arms folded over his chest as he looked down at the man with a stern expression.

"Good evening."
He replied, in a thoroughly unamused tone.

The only thing running through he Lycan's mind was:

Shit. Shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshit. Shiiiiiiiiiiit.

A guy? Alexis' twin? She hadn't told him she had a brother. A good looking brother, his mind supplied less-than-helpfully.

"I-um..." He gave Aeker a sheepish grin, running a hand through his bright orange hair. "...Hi?"

Aeker stared at him, an eyebrow raised at the wolf.

"I suppose that was meant for my sister?"

That much was obvious by the way the man was acting, but Aeker could not resist making the man squirm.

His sister had not mentioned this man to him, which was odd because they shared almost everything.
Though if the pet name he had given her was anything to go off, Aeker was less than impressed.

Yupp, twins.

Was this man as possessive of his twin as he was of his own?

...He damn well hoped not.

"Aye... I'm Aodh." He held out his hand, hoping to make peace with the man before he got too angry. God knows he didn't need a pissed off vampire on his tail.

He eyed the mans hand for a moment, such a strange gesture, he was not fond of shaking hands, however he gripped the mans hand firmly and shook it.

"Aeker, I trust that she has not told you about me, she never does."

A soft chuckle left his lips, his eyes still showing displeasure.
"You're an unlucky man, if you have met my sister."

"Hi, Aeker," he muttered lamely. Usually he gave a greeting of 'pleasure to meet you' but it didn't really fit in this particular situation.

"Unlucky? No, I wouldn't say that."

He definitely hadn't felt unlucky when he met the woman. She was nice beyond the biting comments; fun and she got along well with his dog.

All very good qualities.

Aeker's body language relaxed slightly.
"You made a good impression then, that's a first."

Most men that had the nerve to converse with Alexis ended up worse off.
His arms fell from his chest, searching his pockets for a cigarette, he placed it between his lips and lit up.

"I suspect you can imagine what happened to most people she meets, given who she is."
He gave a dark chuckle, the amount of men that she had turned into meals was large.
Anyone who was slightly related to bounty hunting knew of Alexis' cold bounty, though most knew of her through the nickname they gave her, nosferatu.

His lips quirked into a little grin. "I always make good impressions."

The Lycan gave a half-shrug. "I have my own name in the business; it's not like she scares me."

The entire pack had a name as a bounty hunter group. They were freelance and only dealt with situations that interested them, but they were good at what they did.

The Pack was a powerful group.

Aeker raised an eyebrow at the man again.
"By the way you first greeted me I can tell."
He said refering to the kiss as his first impression of the guy.

"As long as you know what you're dealing with if you decide to continue....what ever it is going on between you two."

He replied with a shrug, he was protective of his twin but when it came to this man he could not care less, she was more than able to deal with people on her own and he didn't expect this one to last long, the others never did.

He opened his mouth then gave an awkward grin. "Yeah that...wasn't meant for you. I don't usually greet people first meet with a kiss on the shoulder."

The Lycan gave a nod.

He knew exactly what he was dealing with.

"Honestly, I don't even know what's going on. We're just flirting back and fourth at the moment." He gave yet another shrug. Maybe something bigger would come out of it, maybe not.

"I certainly hope it was not intended for me, if it were your affections are sorely misplaced."

He replied, staring at the man, the shadow of a smirk gracing his lips which quickly faded.

"...Flirting..."
Aeker hummed over the word for a moment, it was unlike his sister to flirt, unheard of even.

He chuckled. "Kiss on the shoulder is for the second meet."

The Lycan arched a brow.

"Aye, flirting. One: to deal playfully, triflingly, or superficially with," he recited, lifting a hand to run it through his long hair, twisting his fingers into it idly. "Two: to make playfully romantic or sexual overtures. Three: behave as though attracted to or trying to attract someone, but without serious intentions."

A dark chuckled left Aeker's lips.

"I am well aware of its definition, I was not aware that it was an activity that Alexis took part in."

Being bound really had changed the woman.
How much so he was yet to discover, but the fact that she had not torn this man apart for simply looking at her seductively was a clear indication that the old Alexis was far away.

"Well, she definitely took part in it with me."

There was no other way to describe what Alexis and Aodh had done but flirting.

"Is she not usually one to take enough interest in a man to flirt with him?" He could kind of picture it. She hadn't really reacted to a lot of his earlier advances.

His eyes narrowed slightly, his mouth still gracing a soft smirk.

"She is not usually one to take enough interest in men."

He said coolly, emphasizing the last word, he was sure the man was intelligent enough to understand what he was hinting at.

He gave a short chuckle and sat back down upon the bench.

His brow arched.

Now that was something he hadn't known.

Interesting that she'd flirt with him when she didn't take much interest in men. Bit of an ego boost.

"Guess I'm lucky then, aye?"

Aeker shrugged dismissively.

"My immediate answer would be no, but don't let that discourage you.
She is a woman of select tastes, she likes what she likes."

He brought his hand to his chin, rubbing a thumb across his cheek as he thought, he pitied the man and hoped that he was tougher then he looked.

He grinned.

"Y'know, you're taking this a lot better than I did when I found out someone was flirting with my brother."

He cocked his head to the side. "Buuut..." He pursed his lips.

Were Aeker and Alexis incestuous or was he just protective of her?

"If I warned you away from my sister and she found out, which she would, it would only encourage her to keep you around to punish me for meddling.
That and my sister's beau's do not tend to last long."

He added with a suggestive smirk.

"But?"
He said, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm twice her age and I have a lot of experience under my belt. I think I can manage just fine."

His lips quirked into a grin as he took a seat on the ground, leaning back against one of the few trees in the courtyard.

"Are the two of you incestuous?" he asked bluntly.

Being incestuous really wasn't much of a big deal in the supernatural world. It strengthened the bonds between family members. And there weren't much the way of sexual taboos in the Supernatural world.

He sighed softly and looked to the ground, running his hand through the front of his hair.

"We are the last pureblood vampires of our coven, there was a time, many centuries ago where we were to be wed to one another.
Those times are long gone and we have no desire to bring more of our kind into the world."

They were intimate around the same time that their coven had been destroyed, roughly 800 years ago, but no longer.

He made a quiet humming noise as he leaned back against the tree and let his eyes slide shut, arms crossing over his chest.

His body relaxed slowly as his face turned upwards to bask in the cool evening breeze passing through the courtyard.

"More of your kind being the Rozen's, or vampires?" he asked quietly after a long pause.

"Both."

He responded sharply, glaring at the man.
All the havoc that their family had caused, all the death, it had to end sooner or later and with Alexis now bound it could be a possibility.
For too long he had watch silently as his sister tore through entire towns avenging her fallen family in a blind rage.

"My sister no longer wants me, nor I her, not in that way."
He said in a soft mutter.
