A New Dress

Moe sat with her legs curled under her, a mass of black fabric in her lap.

Her needle passed through the fabric and the thread pulled taut. The motion repeated as she slowly began to sew the final details onto her dress.

A quiet hum filled the air around her as she worked.

Vashka was waltzing around, jumping around cheerfully.The flowers looked very nice today as well. She was thinking of planting some more so they could fill the whole lace in beautiful happiness (flowers). She took a glance, looking at an unfamiliar face. A NEW FRIEND! She exclaimed.

Vashka glomped what she sees as a new person. Very fun to do, and nobody seems to be angry about it. She did her carefully planned glomp though, she didn't want the new person to be hurt by the glomp, or because she was sewing, she didn't want her dress to be ruined! That is BAD!

" I see new person! Hello there~ " She smiled.

Moe stopped singing, looking up with wide green eyes, dropping her dress.

Her cheeks flushed a delicate shade of pink and she looked down, biting her lip softly. She hadn't sung in front of anyone since she was with her father and Uncle.

"H-Hello," she muttered with a very thick accent, smiling back at the girl.

Artemis could hear the distinct voice that could only belong to Vashka,
During their short encounter he had grown quite fond of the girls bubbly personality, it did make for a good change.
Upon entering he realized that Vashka was not the only one present.
"Good evening ladies."
He said, taking a seat on one of the available benches,
"I hope you do not mind my intrusion."
He added, taking a book out of his coat and flipping to the appropriate page.

Vashka giggled, looking at the shy little lady. although she is the little one, she considered the lady as her same. "What's your name ? My name is Vashka Facade! " she offered her hand. She let out a grin in her face.

Soon, she looked at the newcomer. A man, who's face is unrecognized but his heart is. " Artemis,sir! Masked guy! Ello and good evening to ya~" She prod. She hugged the man as well, cuddling to the shirt. For some reason, the man seems a bit... 'with filling'.

"I'm glad you recognize me, sweet Vashka."
He cooed to the girl, picking her off her feet to give her a hug.
"I've gotten better, so I no longer need to wear my mask."
He smiled warmly.
"I know you were fond of it, if you want it, it's yours."

"Good evening," she greeted softly with a polite bow, smiling up at the man as she folded her dress. She'd finish it another time.

"I'm Takahashi Moe," she introduced with another bow after she set aside the nearly folded dress and stood. A blush painted her cheeks. "Uh... Moe Takahashi."

She still had to get used to Westerners giving their family name last.

She watched the two of them hug silently, head cocked to the side slightly. They knew each other. Now she felt like the odd one out.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Ms Takahashi.
My name is Artemis Cross.
What brings you to the coven Miss, if it is not too bold to ask."
Artemis sat back down, making himself comfortable, and opportunity to have such company proved to be a rarity for him.

Vashka shook her head. "No thank you, Artemis,sir. I'm not fond masks. I was fond of the one behind it. I like your heart,Artemis~ The feeling you poured out, it what matters~ " She smiled childishly. "That is what my family told me... "She hugged Artemis more.

The went down and greeted the lady once more. "Moe-chan,yes ? I have a Japanese name too I guess! " She laughed. now trying to think the last Japanese name she made for herself.

"Noaru (Noir) " She smiled.

"Likewise Cross-san."

She pursed her lips as she thought over the question. "This... Is the first place I've found that accepts both parts of me."

She giggled quietly, smiling up at the bluenette. "Then perhaps I should call you Noaru-chan, ne?" Her fluffy pigtails bounced as she cocked her head to the side with a closed-eyed smile.

"Do elaborate dear, it sounds fascinating."
He said with a smile to Moe.
There were indeed any different species of creatures at this estate but a cross between two of them was something not unheard of, but still quite uncommon to find.

Artemis gave Vashka a pat on the head and propped her up on his knee as he sat down.
"You're too kind Vaskha."

Her tongue darted out over her lips nervously. "I'm the child of an Elven mother and a... Lycan father." Though she was more proud of her Lycan heritage than her Elven heritage, many people viewed Lycan as lesser beings for their incredibly short tempers and being known to turn to violence quickly.

And, as the two species rarely interacted at all, a child borne of the two was odd.

Elves were far too proud to be caught with Lycan.

She smiled a little hesitantly as she folded herself back on the floor again, settling her dress out around her like her mother had taught her to do.

"Now that is quite the mix, very odd."
Artemis smiled at the young lady,
his medical history slightly getting the better of him.
"Who do you identify with more my dear?
Someone as well mannered as yourself gives off the proper qualities of the Elven culture."

Again she pursed her lips.

"My mannerisms are very much reminiscent to my Elven heritage. It has been over a century since I last met with a Lycan."

She clasped her hands together in her lap.

"But I do have a monthly need to transform as Lycan do."

He lifted one hand to brush her hair back away from a pointed ear to show him. "Physically I'm more like an Elf."

"Very interesting."
He stated, pressing a finger to his lips.

"You would think that lycan would be the more dominate gene.
Though it could be a case of nature verses nurture..."

Artemis was talking to himself more than actually engaging in conversation.
"I do hope I haven't made you uncomfortable m'lady."

She smiled at him. "No, no, it's okay."

Her fingers brushed out her fringe, settling it back in front of her ears. "It's nice to be able to talk to someone about being half Lycan without them sneering in disgust."

A sad truth really, but her Elven family did not take kindly to her being half Lycan. It was never spoken of and the days around the full moon were always spent alone as far away from the clan as she was allowed to be.

My lady you are at a huge advantage."
His face lit up with joy as he spoke, his years of research had not lessened his love for science.
"When a breed is mixed the stronger traits from each species are the ones that the offspring acquire.
So with that said, it is likely that you do not have the obvious downfalls which are linked to both the lycan and elven species."

"The Elven clan do not see it that way, I'm afraid."

She sighed softly. "My father and his brother ddn't much seem to mind. They both adored me." Another soft smile settled on her lips as she thought of her father and uncle. She hadn't seen them in over a century. She missed them.

"I have a severe allergy to silver." No, it didn't rot away her skin and poison her like it did Lycan, but it did burn her enough to leave scars.

"Yes well....Elves are notorious for being that way.
It's a shame really., you are something to be marveled."
Artemis rose and fixed himself a cup of tea from the cart.
"Can I get you a drink Ms Moe?"

"Yes. Yes they are," she agreed with a frown. Elves were far too proud of who they were. Too proud of being the 'best' species.

"No thank you," she replied with a polite shake of her head.

"I hope you are settling into the coven."
Artemis commented as he made himself comfortable once again.
"It can be a hard place to be in at times."
He smiled softly as he took a sip of his tea.

Vashka just nodded to every word the two speak. Didn't quite understand the topic , but it seems fun and interesting. Yep. Just nodding to every word.

Elves reminded Vashka about Linael, the half breed. necromancer reminded her of Xixhemael, the oracle. maybe in this coven, it's not different from the one she used to live with. That means a good thing.

"I'm settling in well enough." The people she had met had been nothing but nice to her.

"But I've yet to meet any of the Lycan or Elves that live here." She began fiddling with the hem of her dress, green eyes drawing to watch her fingers move.

What would the other Lycan and Elves say about her? Hopefully the Lycan would be accepting but she had less than high hopes about the Elves.

"Sadly I have not met many of them myself.
From what I have heard most the people around here are nice enough.
A few may have a couple of...rough spots."
He chuckled to himself quietly, taking another sip of his tea.
"I think you will find most people nice enough, if not, I know all the necromancers are very pleasant and you are more than welcome in our company."

"Rough spots make people interesting," she giggled softly, smiling at the thought of her uncle and his 'rough spots.' Though he constantly declared that her father was the rougher of the two of them.

But her father had been so gentle that she couldn't fathom him being rougher than her uncle.

"Thank you for the invitation but I wouldn't want to intrude."
