[C] Here We Are

Marty ignored her, staying silent and curled up.

It wasn't long before she had parked up in town and got out of the car.

Instead of shouting at Marty to hurry the fuck up, she moved around the car and opened the passenger door.

She ran her fingers through his dark hair and coaxed his chin up. "Pathetic little fucker," she muttered as she licked the sleeve of her jacket and began wiping away the blood on his healed face.

"Let's go dress up nice for Gerhard."

Martin had an odd way of shifting between being totally out of control and totally compliant in short periods of time.   

His eyes were glassy and empty looking, and he let her clean up the mess he'd made without so much as batting an eye.  

Slowly the twisted grin came to his pierced lips, but his eyes remained ghostly.  

"Yeh... If only I had a hit for 'vrytime someone told me that eh?" He joked, the corner of his mouth twitching.  

Then he paused.  

"Wait... 'ho's Gerhard?"  He asked innocently, genuinely confused.

"You'd be even more pathetic," she replied honestly, rubbing the last little bit of blood from his lower lip.

She paused before she pulled away from his lip, one brow arching up. "Blonde haired, blue eyed German control freak." She loved Ger, really, but there was no other way to describe him.

"Let's go play dress up. I'm thinking Gerhard wants you in a cute pink dress."

"Oh! T'one 'ho cut m'hair yeh?" He asserted, perking up and feeling proud of himself.  

One wouldn't have known he was ripping his face off not long before this moment.  

At the mention of the pink dress, Marty shook his head no dramatically.  
"Noooo way.  Those days er'over.  N'less he has some of the real good shit.  Then maybe..." Marty said, chewing his bottom lip as he contemplated this.  

He'd sworn to never prostitute himself out again, but then again it wasn't like he was the most reliable guy in the world.

Cade rolled her eyes and yanked on his hair to pull him out of the car.

"We'll have you looking like a proper forties boy by the end of the night, as per Gerhard's orders."

And she was going down the same route. There was no fucking way she was going to pick some stupid flouncy dress to wear.

Marty grumbled when Cade tugged on his hair.  His head was already booming enough, he didn’t need her to be rough with him. 

But then again, there was hardly anything in his life that wasn’t rough, now was there?

He followed her around the shopping area, tagging along behind like a pup. 

As they were walking down the street, the scent of familiar blood filled his nose.  He stopped walking and perked up, watching the source of the blood walk right past him. 

At first he couldn’t remember where he’d recognized that smell, but then it hit him like a ton of bricks.  That was one of the humans he’d seen Giacinto bring into her basement. 


He reached out and grabbed Cade by the back of the shirt to stop her from trudging on ahead of him.

Cade was searching for a store that Ger would approve of. Some stupidly expensive store or an old vintage place or something.

Her search cut off at the same time as her air supply did.

She turned and decked Marty, yanking at her shirt collar to bring air back into her lungs.

"What the fuck was that for?"

“Owww.” Marty pouted when she punched him in him the shoulder.  He rubbed it and scowled at her at the same time. 


“T'blonde one ova’ there… I rememba’ 'er as bein’ one of the humans that would come to the mansion wit t’head lady.”  He whispered, sulking from being hit yet again.

"Which one?"

Her eyes began scanning the crowd, looking for a blonde head.

Her eyes locked onto a tall blonde and a brow hiked up. "Shes into butch bitches?"

Cade began slowly towards the woman. "Let's just tag her for a while. When shes in a quieter place, we'll get the jump on her."
