History:

Drow society is matriarchal, militaristic, and heavily influenced by religion. Their city-states are formed in huge underground caverns but are frequently at war with one another. From a young age they are taught to be strong and resentful, even of one another, never showing compassion for any being, not even their own.

The Drow who do choose to live on the surface do not form any kind of organized society and instead live as hermits and outcasts. They will interact with other societies when they need to, but not through choice.

Challis is one of the rare few who left the Underdark when he reached manhood to live above the surface where he spent his days travelling and living amongst the wood elves who accepted him without question and taught him their more loving ways.
Due to the nature of the Drow, it is rare to see them, many beings can live thousands of years and never set eyes upon one.
His love of travel has brought him to Italy, though his odd appearance keeps him away from larger towns as such he sought out the coven as a place where it would be acceptable for him to dwell.
