[C] Hipster Attack

Tik was quiet as the continued walking down the dirt path towards the mansion.

They were getting closer and closer to the mansion. He was starting to recognise little landmarks that he had picked up when he'd walked into town.

"Close," he muttered softly.

"That's good."

He looked forward to having a look around his new home, from what he had heard Giacinto's coven was a rather odd place but he hadn't heard many bad things about it so far.

He wondered how to other species would take to him, he knew it was a rarity to see a Drow living above ground, let alone living among other people.

"It'll be nice to just pass out for a few hours.

It would be nice to go rest.

He'd probably set up camp in the games room and wait for his brother to appear.

That was what he usually did when he had a lot of free time and nothing to do.

Tik's life was made up of spending time with his brother and waiting for his brother to appear so he could spend some time with him.

Challis didn't know if this was what the man was like all the time or was just being quiet on his account.

If he was making Tik uncomfortable he would rather leave him in peace as soon a possible.

He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jeans as they walked along the road.

The scenery was nice but he wished he had of drove up here, it would have been much faster, he hadn't expected it to be this far.

The air felt heavier now. Awkward.

Tik didn't like it. He had enjoyed it when Challis had talked to him and smiled and even touched his hair.

Now Challis was just walking with a blank look on his face.

Had he done something wrong to make Challis act different?

The man's hand twitched a little as he debated doing something to change the mood that had settled around them.

Tik hadn't done anything wrong, he just wasn't accustomed to talking to someone so quiet, it was a little odd just walking and having a one sided conversation with himself.

He didn't know if he was boring the man or if he was saying the right thing if he barely responded.

The Elf had to hold in a soft sigh as they walked, chewing on his lip idly.

Tik gave a quick jerk of his head when he saw the mansion through the break in the trees.

"Here."

They'd gotten to the mansion with minimal awkwardness.

Tik tugged on a piercing as his gaze turned up to Challis.

He supposed they'd split ways when they got to the mansion.

Challis gave an impressed whistle as he saw the mansion breaking through the trees, it was bigger than he had imagined, much bigger and the grounds here huge.

"Now that's cool..."

He muttered, his eyes scanning over the area and checking the place out.

He was excited to see what his room would look like, hopefully it was as nice as the resting of the building seemed to be.

The place was cool.

He and Amr had had a very similar reaction to seeing it when they had arrived earlier in the week.

It was even more incredible inside.

He was sure that Challis would think the same thing.

The mansion was a beautiful place.

He hadn't expected it to be so large, he was rather impressed by it.

"Does this place have somewhere to swim?"

He asked as that thought crossed his mind, a pool, a creak, anything he didn't mind at all, he adored being in the water.

A large grin spread across his lips as a second thought crossed his mind.

"Do they allow pets?"

If he was allowed to have one then he was determined to get one.

Tik nodded.

They had a swimming pool here. It looked like a pretty nice pool, too. Tik had taken a look at it when he explored.

Not that he'd ever use it. The thought of anyone seeing him without a shirt on made him cringe.

He shrugged at the second question.

He honestly didn't know that one.

It didn't matter how hot or cold it was, Challis would always feel like going for a swim.

"Well then I know what I'm doing later."

He wouldn't be able to resist getting into the water for long.

He pursed his lips a little at the shrug, not matter, he would have to find out from someone else.

Tik himself would have to see if they allowed animals here.

He'd love to own a pet. He'd never had one before but he'd always adored animals.

Having a pet would be nice.

That was definitely something he would be looking into now.

He already had a good idea about what sort of pet he wanted.

Tik hesitated as they approached the mansion doors. They were here. He didn't really want to part ways with Challis yet. He liked spending time with the Drow.

Challis looked up at the large doors with a smile, at least he would be very comfortable living here.

"Any chance you can help me find a room?"

He muttered, he had no idea where the rooms were, or where anything was for that matter, he would have to spend a lot of time exploring.

"I'm going to get so lost exploring this place."

He would search it top to bottom finding out what was contained within, he had always been curious like that.

A tiny smile curled his lips at the request.

That meant he'd get to spend at least a little more time around the man before they parted ways.

Tik pushed open the large doors and held them open for Challis.

He was sure there'd be a room near his with free space for the Drow.

"Thank you."

He responded was Tik held the door open for him, giving the man a smile as he passed through the door and looked over the inside of the house with another impressed whistle.

"Living here is going to be fun."

He looked forward to seeing all the mansion had to offer and spending time getting to know the town.

Tik let the door close behind him as he stepped in behind the Drow.

"Aria," he murmured, heading towards the Aria wing.

He was somewhat familiar with the Aria wing. Better than the other one, at least. He'd be able to find a room for Challis a little easier in the Aria wing.

Aria?

He wasn't quite sure what that meant, he didn't know about the house being split into two wings.

"What's Aria?"

He asked with mild confusion as he followed after the Elf, when Tik spoke, he listened, and intently. He didn't want to miss the man's very few words.

"Wing."

Tik stepped down the hall slowly, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he did so.

The man considered taking Challis to his own room. There were spare beds in there. But that would be clingy. He couldn't do that. He'd find another room for Challis.

Wing...oh! Aria was the name of this wing of the mansion.

Now he was up to speed.

"I see, haven't been in a place big enough to have wings."

He replied, letting his eyes wander over each piece of furniture and room they passed.

He wondered just how many people lived here, what species were occupying this space, he knew it wasn't just Elves.

Tik's eyes flickered to the door of his own room as they passed it.

No. Not his room. They could find another room for Challis to stay in. He didn't want to seem clingy or creepy.

At random he opened a door and peeked inside.

There was a free bed.

He opened the door a little wider and stepped back.

Challis peeked inside, he hadn't known they were shared rooms, not that he minded, he doubted he would spend much time in here anyway, not when there were other places to explore.

There seemed to be someone asleep inside, carefully he moved in quietly, placed his things on the spare bed and crept out of the room, slowly shutting it.

"Thanks, I think I'll get my part of the room set up a little later, looks like there is a Vampire sleeping in there."

He muttered softly.

The man's gaze flickered up to the door as Challis closed it and spoke.

A vampire?

Tik hadn't ever met a Vampire before. That he knew of, at least.

Tik hadn't met that many people, in all honesty. He wasn't a social creature. Tik avoided meeting new people like the plague most of the time.

"Probably best not to wake him."
He replied with a chuckle as he glanced back at the door.

The last thing he needed was a vampire becoming pissy with him, especially since he would have to live with the man, he didn't particularly want to become food.

"Is there a kitchen around here?"

He asked, he could kill for some food right now, he may as well make himself something since he couldn't go in there yet.

Maybe in the future he would endeavor to meet the Vampire.

But for now Challis was right. The Vampire needed sleep. It was daytime.

Tik nodded and turned around, heading back down towards the kitchen, glancing back at the man to make sure he followed him.
