[C] The Camera

((The idea happened when I was sketching shit and yeah))

Aodh should have known that giving his son a camera was a bad idea.

Especially when said camera had a pretty damned bright flash that could blind your average man.

To make matters worse, it was half way through the day and Aodh was curled up against Aeker, sleeping peacefully.

That set up, when considering Darragh was wide awake, was a recipe for disaster. Disaster that came very, very soon after Darragh had picked up his brand new camera from his bedside table.

The boy jumped onto his parents bed, bouncing around as he poised to take a picture of his father.

Aodh groaned softly, eyes cracking open just as a bright flash filled the room. "Shit," the Lycan groaned blinded and disoriented, groping blindly to try and make sense of what had just happened.

"Aeker," he grunted, kicking the Vampire awake.

Aeker's face was buried into his pillow as he slept, waking a vampire during the day was difficult as the sun beat down outside.

It drained his energy and left him in a deep slumber, that was until he was kicked roughly.

He grunted loudly and swung his arm over, smacking Aodh for hitting him.

He wasn't ready to get up yet.

"'s da middle of da day...."

Aeker groaned and rolled over, bundling himself in the blankets in order to escape.

Darragh, noticing mommy was awake, turned his attention to the Vampire.

He snapped numerous pictures of the Vampire, giggling happily to himself. He would have all the pretty pictures of mommy and daddy.

Aodh, free of his sons camera, curled up happily again, intent on falling asleep.

Aeker could deal with Darragh.

The Vampire hissed softly as he hid his face in the pillow, kicking Aodh firmly, stupid Lycan.

"Darragh sweety, why are you up so early, it's the middle of the day, Mommy can't get up yet."

He muttered as he shielded his eyes from the flash, Aodh was going to pay for buying the boy a proper camera.

Aodh was already paying for it. He was going to have to confiscate it every morning now. He didn't want to have to deal with this again.

"Pictures mommy. Pictures."

Darragh snapped another photo of my mommy with a wide, toothy grin.

The boy was too excited about taking pictures. He couldn't wait.

Aeker couldn't help but chuckle sleepily, the boy was so fond of his camera he almost felt bad for wanting to take it off of him.

"Come here Darragh, lets take a photo together."

He replied, drawing the boy into his lap as he sat up, he tidied the boy's hair as well as his own.

The Vampire took the camera and held it at arms length.

"Smile."

He instructed before kissing the boy on the cheek and snapping the picture.

Darragh dropped into Aeker's lap happily, but whined and tried to wriggle away as Aeker began tidying up his hair.

He hated being groomed.

The grooming didn't last long, though, before the two were posing for the camera.

Darragh giggled as he cuddled against Aeker.

He took a few more pictures as they nuzzled and cuddled together before lowering the camera into Darragh's lap and looking through them.

"We might have to get some of these printed out and framed."

He muttered as he kissed the boy's shoulder softly, a few of them had turned out really well and Aeker was a sentimental creature, he would loved to have framed photos of them hanging up in the room, after all the boy wouldn't be this small forever, he would live a great many years and he wanted to be able to give him these photos in a thousand years time so he could look back on these moments.

Aodh grunted in response. He wasn't quite awake and he was trying to cling onto sleep as best as he could.

Darragh hugged his camera and gave a wide, gappy grin to Aeker. His tooth still hadn't grown through properly yet.

"Can we take pictures with daddy?"

He wanted pictures with Aodh.

Aodh had brought the boy a camera with a flash and had woken him up by kicking him.

The man deserved to suffer.

"Of course, you have to wake him up though."

He replied with a soft whisper before he took the camera from Darragh and placed it gently on the bedside table.

"Ready?"

He asked as he lifted the boy up off the bed, ready to launch him at his father.

"Three, two, one, lift off!"

He called as he dumped Darragh on top of Aodh.

"Oh no! Crash landing."

Darragh tried to muffle his giggles with his hands as Aeker picked him up.

He knew what was going to happen.

The Lycan gave a loud grunt as his son was dropped onto his stomach, whining as he rolled over and pulled the blankets over his head like a shield.

Couldn't he sleep?

Darragh pouted, crossing his arms as his father rolled away.

"Athair," he whined loudly. "Play with me and mommy!"

Aodh muttered a very colourful word in repsonse.

Aeker smacked Aodh harshly on the backside.

"Don't swear."

He scolded, hopefully seeing his father getting smacked for it would discourage Darragh from using that sort of language.

"Time to wake up Aodh, your son wants to use the camera you brought him to take a family portrait."

The Lycan grunted when he was slapped.

He just couldn't get a break, could he? He wanted sleep. Aeker could jump out of bed doing a jig at a moments notice, but Aodh couldn't. He was bloody tired.

Aodh grunted and curled up into a tiny ball under the blankets.

He was trying to avoid waking up at all costs.

Aeker looked down at Darragh and shook his head.

"Daddy is being a meanie and doesn't want to get out of bed yet."

The Vampire had adjusted to getting woken up and having to being alert and active, more often than not he was the one who had to get up and look after the boy because Aodh wanted to sleep.

"And we can't go outside until the sun goes down."

Aeker had become mother. The Vampire had to deal with every little annoying whim Darragh had during the day.

Aodh would happily deal with the boy in the evening when he was awake. Just not now when he was trying to sleep.

Darragh's lips wobbled as he fought back tears.

"Mommy, I want to play with daddy."

"I know sweety."

Aeker cooed, stroking a hand through the boy's hair before leaning down a pressing a kiss to his forehead.

"But Daddy is tired and it's the middle of the day, he hasn't had enough sleep yet.

I tell you what, how about you cuddle up between me and daddy for a little while, we will have a small nap then when the sun goes down we can go into town and take photos of what ever you want, we can even take Mac down the beach.

Do you like that idea?"

"But I'm not tired," he whined.

His wide green eyes turned up to Aeker and he pouted.

Aodh groaned softly under the blankets. Joys. Darragh had a cob on. That never meant anything good. The boy could be as moody as Aodh could be at times.

Darragh had definitely gotten an Irish temper.

"I want to play."

"I know, but it isn't time to get up yet, you know that."

One hand reached over to stroke Aodh's shoulder softly while the other pet Darragh on the head.

"What if I put a movie on for you, once it is over, then we can play."

It would buy them another two hours of sleep, hopefully the Lycan would be functioning by then.

The boy whined loudly.

He didn't care if it wasn't time to get up, he wanted to play.

He wasn't tired and he didn't want to sit around adn watch a stupid movie. He wanted to play.

"I want to play!"

Aodh gave a soft growling sigh. Darragh was progressively getting louder.

Once again it was Aeker that missed out on sleep in order to save Aodh, he would get the man back by making him give Darragh his bath tonight while he went to sleep early.

"Okay, you and I can play until daddy gets up, let him sleep a little longer.

The Vampire grudgingly pushed himself out of bed, picking up the boy and carrying him away from the sleeping Lycan.

"What do you want to do?"

He asked, setting the boy on his feet.

"I want to play with daddy."

Darragh gave a loud, high-pitched shriek when Aeker picked him up, reaching for Aodh who, despite his massive attempts, was slowing waking up. In a rather bad mood.

Still, he would try to get back to sleep.

"I want to play with daddy," he repeated, tears welling up in his eyes.

Aeker winced as Darragh shrieked, gods he hated that sound more than anything.

He gave a sigh and let the boy go, there was no point trying to stop him from waking Aodh, all he was going to do was burst into tears, plus he couldn't take him out of the room to stop him from being loud.

The Vampire gave up and sat back down on the bed and rubbing his eyes before flopping down onto the mattress in defeat, the boy had no interest in playing with him.

Aodh grunted when Darragh flung himself at him, giving a low warning growl.

Aodh was not awake enough to think clearly. He was working on instinct and right now instinct was telling him that the little shit on his stomach was the one that was causing all the noise.

"Get it up of me," he barked, eyes finally cracking open a little.

He didn't want to hurt Darragh, but right now he needed to wakeup a little more before he did something stupid he'd regret.

"He is going to scream."

Aeker warned, he didn't want Aodh lashing out at Darragh, it would only upset and scare the boy and Aodh would feel horrible for it when he calmed down.

"Darragh, daddy is cranky."

The Vampire warned, quickly scooping the boy up and holding him firmly against his chest, at least if Aodh lashed out, the boy was protected in his arms, he could fend off the Lycan for a short while if he needed to.

Darragh cried when he was scooped up into Aeker's arms, fighting against his hold.

It was times like this that Aodh felt like he should have taught Darragh more about Lycans.

Said Lycan sat up with a heavy sigh, rubbing his tired eyes gently. Fuck, he felt like shit and he mumbled as so as he slowly came around.

He wanted more than anything to curl up back in bed.

"All right, I'm calm," he decided after a minute. "C'mere." He opened his arms for Darragh, giving Aeker a tired glance.
