flirting with the wrong guy

Fabian groaned and elbowed Rick.

"Let me sleep," he whined childishly. That was all he wanted. He wanted to sleep. He could eat just fine when he woke up. He'd eat everything Rick shoved at him after he woke up.

He ignored the order, letting his body relax a little.

He couldn't eat if he was already asleep.

"Fine."
He grunted, putting the fork down back on the plate and pulling himself out of Fabian's bed.

He had just thrown a vampire into the sun and he was in no mood to argue anymore.

The Elf didn't want his help, he didn't listen to his warnings, despite the fact they were for his own good.

If that was the case then he would stop helping the Elf all together, it was wasted effort and Fabian was old enough to sort out his own problems.

He turned off the light and moved back into his own bed, laying on his side facing away from the man.

It was time to distance himself from Fabian, he could make it on his own from now on.

He shivered when Aurick pulled away from him, curling up under the blankets.

Fabian was cold. He was cold and he was hungry and he was tired. Feeling all three at the same time was frustrating him.

He wanted to sleep but his stomach kept reminding him that he wanted food. He wanted to eat but he was just too tired to do anything.

The Elf lifted a hand to rub at his cheek as he tried to settle down. The act of rubbing his cheek was something he used to do a lot as a child when he tried not to cry. It didn't happen so much now he was older and cried less but the gesture was unmistakable.

Aurick could hear the rubbing and automatically knew what he was doing, he had dealt with Fabian crying plenty of times in the past.

His immediate response was to help Fabian but the boy didn't listen to him so what was the point.

Instead he lay still pretending to drift to sleep despite the fact that his eyes remained open but not in view of the Elf.

If Fabian wanted to get himself killed by sleeping with fledglings then it wasn't his problem.

The rubbing continued for a good long while before he finally let a tear slip.

A second followed. And then a third.

His body shook with frustrated sobs as he tried to drift off to sleep but couldn't. He was trying to sleep all the way through Aurick trying to fuss over him and make sure he'd recover.

But now he was left alone he couldn't do anything.

The Elf pushed himself to the edge of the bed and stood shakily. When he was having bad days like this he usually went to Rick for comfort. He just hoped that today he wouldn't push him away.

Aurick growled internally when he heard Fabian rise to his feet, the idiot was just going to fall over if he tried to move so soon after being drained.

He could hear him crying and felt his heart constrict, he wanted to put distance between them but he could not stand knowing that Fabian was in such a state.

"You idiot."
He grumbled as he rose out of bed and moved quickly to the Elf's side, scooping the boy up in his arms and setting him back down in his bed, crawling in with him to try and warm him up.

"You're going to eat, or I will force you to, understand me?"
Fabian really needed to eat whether his body felt like it could or not.

Fabian clung to his mentor when he was scooped up, burying his face in the vampire's neck as he tried to stifle his soft sobs.

He curled against Rick, thankful that instead of pushing him away or ignoring him, he came to him when he needed comfort.

The Elf gave a little nod.

He'd do whatever Rick said needed to be done. Fighting against him had just left him frustrated and alone. Doing what he said was a much easier route to take and right now he needed the vampire. He didn't want to risk being left alone again.

He left the Elf curl up against his chest as he reached over and grabbed the plate full of food, he was going to make Fabian eat all of it.

He cut the steak and place its on the fork with a small amount of spinach, he could start with small bites until his strength picked up and he could manage more.

He brought the fork to the man's mouth.
"Eat."
He demanded again, knowing that Fabian would do as he was told this time.

Like the last time Rick had issued the order, Fabian's first reaction was to tell him to go fuck himself.

But his lips parted around the morsel, pulling it from the fork and chewing on it slowly.

He wanted to spit it back up, roll over and go to sleep but he knew he couldn't.

The Elf chewed slowly, swallowing after he had completely pulverised the mouthful.

He gathered up another forkful and brought it to the Elf's lips.
It was times like these that he wished Fabian was a Vampire, he could just feed the boy and the entire process would be much faster, Fabian would be on his feet faster.

But that was not the case so he simply continued to force the boy to eat forkful after forkful.

His free arm moved to stroke the man's back idly as he ate, the Vampire barely registering that he was doing it.

He ate the second forkful obediently.

The Elf's eyes were heavily lidded, but he made the effort to keep them open this time. Life would be much easier if he didn't end up resting his eyes for too long and falling asleep while Rick was trying to feed him.

He leaned back into the gentle touch of the vampire's hand as he ate.

He stared ahead silently. He didn't want to see Rick angry at him or, even worse, disappointed in him for going against once of his rules.

Aurick was still furious but the anger numbed slightly as the Elf ate, at least he knew that with food in his stomach Fabian would be alright.

His tense body slowly relaxed against the bed as he continued to feed him mouthfuls of food, loading the fork up with greens and steak.

"I'm not going to yell at you."
He muttered softly, looking down at the Elf with a rather blank expression.

"Yelling would be easier to deal with," was his reply.

He could block out yelling. Yelling was easy to deal with.

It was the other things that Rick could throw at him that would ware him down and make him feel guilty and miserable. The disappointment and silent anger.

Rick was always annoyed with him over little things like calling him by his nickname or using the whiny tone he knew he hated. But Fabian tried not to anger him too much. He was usually good with that.

He had been with vampires before - vampires that had age under their belts and knew how to control themselves. He should have known that his luck would cut short eventually. He hadn't known Kenny was new to this life. He didn't have the amazing sense of smell other supernaturals had; he couldn't smell the age on her like Vampires or Lycan could.

"You're old enough to make your own decisions, I can't baby you forever."

For over a hundred years he had seen Fabian as that same little boy he had found sobbing in the woods wanting to find his way back home.

Even if the Elf was much younger than himself he was still at a decent age as far as supernatural beings went.

He sighed softly and loaded up the fork again, bringing it to the man's mouth.

"Yeah..." Fabian was getting older and he was at the point where he shouldn't rely on Rick as much as he did.

One hundred and twenty two. Sometimes he didn't feel that age. Sometimes he still felt like the seven year old boy that Aurick had found sobbing at the base of a tree.

"I'm sorry, Aurick," he murmured softly.

Sorry wouldn't fix this or make everything better. But it was a start. He had admitted that he was in the wrong and he had gone out and done something stupid that Rick had told him not to.

Aurick gaped for a moment, this was the first time Fabian had actually called him by his name, granted it was not his full name but the name that he had chosen to go by.

"It's alright."

He murmured, setting away the rest of the food, Fabian had eaten most of it anyway and he had made an unusually large amount.

He lay down in Fabian's bed and pulled the Elf in against his chest to heat him up.

"Just be more careful next time."

This reminded him of their first night together, the tiny little Elfling crawling in against him to keep the nightmares and cold away.

He shook his head a little but didn't say anything.

It wasn't all right. Not by a long way.

Fabian curled in against the vampire when he laid down and pulled him close. He loves this close contact. Aurick rarely let him so close unless things like this were happening when Fabian needed comfort.

He loved the heat that Rick always gave off and he loved the steady heartbeat he could feel under his palm and he loved the muscular arms he could feel around him pulling him closer.

He gave a little nod. He'd definitely be more careful next time.

As Fabian curled up against him his eyes wandered and gazed at the Elf's marked neck.

It had always been his bite that marked Fabian's skin and the woman had so easily claimed the man as her own, and he had let her do it.

A small knot of jealously curled around in his stomach, he wished he had of thrown that fledgling out the window and let her burn to death.

He pursed his lips and let his eyes slide shut, the whole point of coming here was the hope of Fabian finding a mate that he could depend on to look after him so he could leave Aurick's side and he had to realize that the boy could very well end up with a Vampire or a Lycan.

He let his eyes slide shut as his hand fisted in the man's shirt.

His lips quirked upwards. This reminded him so much of that first night. He was clinging to him just like he had been all those years ago.

Fabian nuzzled closer to his vampire, burying his face in Rick's neck as his hands slid under his shirt to leech his head again.

Since the night he first found Fabian he never would've thought that a hundred and fifteen years later the boy would still be with him.

He wondered silently if Fabian ever thought about his family, many times over their time together he had considered going back to those woods and searching again.

Though those thoughts were always banished rather quickly, as much and he didn't want to admit it, even to himself, he still enjoyed having the boy around, regardless of his hateful words.

Aurick had always been a man who fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, as such he lay there, pretending to be asleep as the Elf's hands slid over his torso.

If he were awake he knew it was the norm that he would move away from the man's touches but tonight he had been scared for Fabian's well-being and simply wanted him close.

The Elf sighed softly against Rick's neck.

He didn't know how Rick could fall asleep so easily. He had always been jealous of the man's ability to fall asleep so quickly.

Fabian could fall asleep anywhere he could fit himself but it always took a while for him to nod off.

"Przykro mi, że to co zrobiłem. Powinienem słuchać ciebie. Ja nie, a teraz ja cię martwi i zły. Przykro mi," he murmured softly. if the vampire was awake right now he'd be worried about him snorting and calling him stupid for saying something like that. But right now he was asleep so he'd be able to get everything off his chest without his reactions.

Aurick lay perfectly still, his sleeping deception still intact as he heard Fabian murmur.

He hated hearing the man apologize, it meant that Fabian knew what he did was wrong where as he just wanted to be deluded into believing that he was still that little Elfling who didn't know a lot of things were right or wrong.

It was easier to forgive when he didn't know any better, but Fabian had always been defiant, calling him by a name he didn't like, constantly touching him and refusing to leave him alone.

The man could defy him as much as he wanted and it never really bothered him as much as he let on, it was moments like these where he had risked his life for no reason other than his own stupidity that upset him.

He nuzzled closer, pressing himself against the Vampire as best as he could.

Fabian hated upsetting and angering Rick like this. Rick was the person that had looked after him for over a century. Upsetting him was like upsetting a parent or a lover. It made him feel terrible.

He pressed his lips against the man's skin. Another move that he wouldn't have pulled if the man had been awake.

He was sure that Rick would make a snide remark about him turning gay if he was awake.

Aurick had to keep himself from frowning as Fabian kissed his skin, Fabian would never had dared to do that if he thought he was awake.

The Vampire had put up too many walls between them, barring off such affection between the two of them.

It was moments like these that he wished he had found Fabian's family, if he had the boy would be married with a wife and children of his own, playing with them out in the sun. Not stuck in a dark room in the middle of the day with an emotionally depraved Vampire.

He sighed softly and nuzzled against him.

His hands gripped the vampire's shirt as his eyes slid shut and he settled down.

Right now he needed to try and get some sleep. They could deal with whatever else needed to be talked about or done when the two of them had woken up and were a little less moody.
