Opening Up

"I think you had another nightmare." He ran his fingers through Camille's hair comfortingly, quickly removing the frown off his face.

Glancing over his shoulder, he looked at the time. Twenty-six past eight in the afternoon. He sighed softly, turning back to Camille.

"Shall we just stay up now? There is no point in getting back to sleep for just a few hours. Especially if you are finding it difficult to get a peaceful days sleep."

"O-okay."

It wasn't the first time he had woken up like this, but every time it was terrifying. But this, for once, was one of the few times that he had woken up safe, in the arms of someone who was like family to him. But... it did make him worry. How much had Jace...?

"Did... did I say anything?"

Continuing to run his fingers through Camille's red hair, he paused for a moment before answering his 'little brother's' question.

On one hand he wanted to be truthful to him. Tell him that he had heard him speak in his sleep. Saying such things as: "don't touch me". And that he had put two and two together, concluding that someone had hurt Camille. Bad. Each idea of what happened as vivid and spine chilling as the other.

But on the other hand, he figured that Camille did not want to tell him. If he did, he would not of had to figure it out by himself by Camille sleep talking. He wanted to keep Camille in the false sense of security that his past was still shrouded in secrecy.

"No, nothing that I can make sense of."

He squeezed his 'little brother' closer.

He relaxed a little in Jace's arms, nestling into his skin. He did want to tell Jace. If he could tell anyone, it would be his big brother. And Jace was easy to talk to. But... it was difficult for him to find the words. That one, painful word didn't seem to be able to encompass all of the hurt that he felt.

In a way, he was relieved, but he almost wished that he had said something. It would have been so much easier for Jace to have worked it out for himself.

"Thank you."
