Moonlit Nap

Moe stretched, maw opening wide in a yawn.

Her red-tinted fur rustled as she curled up, resting her head on her paws. The moonlight was dim, leaving the back garden almost completely dark. If not for her heritage, she'd have been rendered sightless.

The small wolf whined quietly as she curled tighter in on herself, drifting off into a light nap.

Zeke had just been out hunting in the woods, a successful night to be sure.
He had his fill of fresh meat and left the rest of his kill for the crows to peck at, it was indeed a beautiful night, very dark which made hunting even more easier, he was practically invisible without moonlight hitting his jet black fur.

As he made his way upto the mansion his silver eyes set upon another lycan, it was small, very small in comparison to himself.

He walked up to it slowly, he remained hidden in the shadows, this one had an odd smell about it, something he had never encountered before.

Gabriel lay on a branch, idly watching the wolves below him. He did not particularly fancy coming down just yet. The smaller one seemed fairly harmless, but he couldn't be sure of the other one. He did not recognise the wolves by their animal forms, so he was not sure who they belonged to. Certainly, he did not want to take any risks leaving his safe spot.

Moe lifted her head, looking around slowly.

Everything had been fine, she had nearly gotten off to sleep, but now she felt eyes on her.

She curled tighter, tucking her tail around herself, green eyes still trying to find whoever it was staring at her.

She hated the feeling of being watched.

Zeke's ears twitched backwards, someone was watching him.
He dismissed it quickly, he was not worried by the others presence,
walking closer to the ember wolf he let out a sharp bark, alerting it to his presence.
This creature truly intrigued him, the scent was off, the stature, far too small.
A child perhaps?
Who are you
He growled softly, not menacingly but rather, in confusion.

He watched the scene in interest, idly wondering who the smaller wolf could be. He had not had a lot of experience with wolves, but he was pretty sure that the female (he guessed) was a lot smaller than the standard werewolf. That, and as far as he was aware the only wolves here were males.

She looked up when the bark sounded, scrambling to her feet at the sight of Zeke.

The male wolf was a lot larger than her and the first thing her father had taught her was to be careful when there were people bigger or older than you.

M-Moe, she stuttered out nervously, backing away slowly, tail tucking between her legs.

Zeke stalked closer to the ember wolf, his eyes scanning it intently.
Moe.
He repeated with a growl.
I have not seen you around here.
He added as he leaded his muzzle in closer, by the way the creature scrambled away from him he knew it was no real threat.
You smell...odd.
He added as he took in deep breaths of its scent.

I'm new, was her reply. She had only been at the coven for a week. She had known there were Lycan here but she hadn't met any of them yet. Who are you?

She stood her ground when he leaned closer to sniff her. Ths backing up was getting stupid. She may have been smaller than this wolf, but she wasn't entirely incapable. She had been taught to fight by bother her father and her uncle; she wasn't a pathetic bitch that could do nothing.

My name is Zeke.
He said firmly, taking a step back once it had mentioned being a half breed.
Half elf?
He smirked softly as the ember toughened up, the lycan side of the creature showing more so, his body relaxing slightly as he grinned at the creature.

That's uncommon.

He added as he slowly walked behind a bush to change back into his human form, quickly pulling on the pants that he had stashed their earlier.

"What brings you to the estate?"

Her head bobbed at the other Lycan's comment about her heritage. Yes, I know.

When he loped off to the bushes, she shifted back, pulling the folded Yukata that was on the floor behind her around her shoulders.

She made quick work of tying the Obi and righting herself to kneel, hands resting delicately on her knees as she had been taught by her mother.

"I'm here to make a home for myself," was her quiet reply as she lifted her brilliant green eyes to his silver ones. She wanted a place where both sides of her would be accepted. A place where both Elves and Lycan were welcome was the best place for that.

Zeke couldn't help but snort at her reply,
"Seems like an odd place for someone like you to want to call home."

From the people he had met here so far none seemed like her, she was well mannered and delicate, the people who resided here were rougher.
A complete contrast to this one.

When turned into her humanoid form he stared at her intently, that hair...
The bright orange hair that seemed so familiar.

He twitched slightly in his branch as he saw the wolf turn into Zeke. Maybe sitting up here watching the entire thing wasn't the best of ideas. Gabriel wasn't one to hold grudges, but he was smart enough to know when it was best to avoid something... or, as the case was, someone. Zeke currently happened to be second on his list of people to avoid, after Dick and before Hellsing.

But now it was too late, and he was in the branch.

Watching with curiosity as the smaller wolf turned into a girl, he wondered slightly who she was. He hadn't come across her in the mansion before.

"Not...really." This was the first place she had found that would accept both sides of her equally. She wouldn't be treated with disgust or hatred here.

...Hopefully.

Again her eyes lowered to the ground. Submissive, quite, well-behaved girls are the one's that are accepted, she repeated, remembering one of her mother's many lessons on becoming a true lady.

Don't speak unless spoken to.

Don't stare a man directly in the eye.

"Where are you from?"
He asked, determined to find out if his suspicions about her were correct.

Zeke kept staring at the girl however his eyes flickered over to the nearby tree, again hearing noise coming from it.
Even in human form his hearing was superb, he glanced over, growling softly.
"It would be wise not to linger in the shadows, some would think you are up-to something sinister."
He spoke with a snarl in his throat.

He swung down lightly, feigning a grin at the wolf. "Keep your fur on, just having a nap, that's all."

It vaguely struck him that perhaps he should take care with his wording, but then he never was one for diplomacy. Apart from when it really mattered, anyway. Though he had ended up landing a little closer to Zeke than he might have liked... Meaning that he never really wanted to be within twenty feet of the wolf.

The blond turned to the small girl with a smile. "I don't believe we've met?" he extended a hand. "Pleased to meet you, I'm Gabriel."

"Japan mostly," was her reply. It had been where she had spent most of her life. She had been born in Korea and moved around both Asia and Europe for nearly a hundred and fifty years before she had taken up permanent residence in Japan with her mother.

She looked up curiously at the older Lycan's next words, eyes scanning the shadows, looking for whoever Zeke had called out.

When the vampire joined them, she lower her eyes again.

And when he offered his hand she opted for bowing to him instead of taking it. She still wasn't very used to European's constant need to touch each other. ""I'm Takahashi Moe."

"Yeah bullshit."
He said with a smirk, casing a sideways glance at the Gabriel.
His last encounter with the vampire had not made him very fond of the creature.

"Japan? Let me guess, with your mother?"
He looked at the girl, searching for the answers before drawing any solid conclusions.

He ignored the taunt, looking towards the girl curiously. He wouldn't let Zeke rile him up. After all, he was the master of the wind-ups. And, of course, that meant that he knew how to ignore them just as well. The blond stayed silent, not wanting to begin a fight with a very physically able wolf while the rest of the pack was in the area... and anyway, this girl seemed quite timid.

Did Zeke always poke his snout into things that weren't any of his concern? His mind flashed back to the fight over the situation with Jean. It certainly seemed like it.

Her eyes flickered up to Zeke and she gave him a distrustful look.

How did he know...?

"Why do you want to know?" she asked instead, ignoring her mother's lessons and staring him directly in the eyes, her timid demeanour waning.

"Your elven mother and lycan father would constantly fight until they finally went their separate ways and your mother insisted that she take you with her.
Your father, who had no idea how to raise a daughter let you go.
Lycan females are rare so in the pack there would be no one who would understand your situation."
Zeke could tell she was faulting and this was a sure way to find out if she really was who he thought she was...

Gabriel groaned, his dislike of this werewolf increasing slightly. Could he not just leave the poor girl alone? It was none of his business.

"Hey, I don't see what it's got to do with you." he said quietly. "She'll tell you in her own time if she wants to tell you at all."

He realised that this might be tantamount to suicide by provoking an angry wolf, but then, he never really thought things through. It was rash, and stupid, but then Zeke didn't seem to be particularly responsive to diplomacy either.

Her distrusting look intensified as she slowly climbed to her feet, fingers curling around the fan next to her.

She held it protectively in front of her as she stood staring at him silently.

"My mother and father didn't fight constantly," she denied. Well, they hadn't fought much in front of her. She'd heard her uncle complaining about their constant fighting when she wasn't around, but hadn't paid t much mind.

Her uncle had been one to be over dramatic most the time.

She flicked the fan open, sending Gabriel a grateful glance. Though Lycan didn't usually get along with vampires, elves got along with them just fine.

Zeke sent Gabriel a vicious glare in warning, he may have been putting his nose where it didn't belong but the vampire was interfering and severely pissing him off.

He glared at Moe after detecting the distrust from her expression, a half-breed lycan, siding with a vampire instead of her own kind.

A smirk spread across his face, clearly she did not want his help, perhaps she did not miss her father at all. Zeke shrugged softly and sighed.

"I suppose you're right."
He started, taking out a cigarette and propping it between his lips as he walked to lean against the building.
"I apologize Sprout, I'll talk no more on the subject."
He lit his smoke and closed his eyes, smirking softly wondering if she would pick up on the nickname.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow, surprised that he had "won". But then... from the smirk on the wolf's face, there was clearly more to it than that. He watched the young redhead closely, silently wondering what Zeke was trying to do, and if it would affect the girl in any way.
