It's a Beautiful Day [C]

Dick was sat out on the deck chair, partly watching Duke and Jake play around on the grass, and partly badgering his boyfriend to get him an iced coffee having already drained the last.

"I'm dying."

He turned his head to look at Fleck, attempting to look as pitiful as he could; blue eyes wide, his bottom lip jutted out just slightly and his arm hung limply from the armrest.

The weather had warmed considerably as it normally did, but it wasn't unbearable. Instead, it was fairly pleasant. Dick, for all intense and purposes, was being lazy.

"I thought vampires were already dead?" he questioned blandly, eyes on the pets playing with each other.

That was the story, wasn't it? A human died and came back to life as a vampire.

Could vampires die? Well, if they went out in the sun, right? Burst into flames. But Dick had suffered one too many summer days and having Fleck rub aloe into his bright red skin to believe that this pleasant sun was going to kill him.

Jack wrapped herself around Duke's muzzle, claws digging into the large dogs skin and teeth gnawing at a droopy jowl. The kitten was hissing adn growling like something possessed, her tail pounding in puppy-like excitement. Sometimes she acted more like a dog than a cat.

There was a pause, Dick unsure if the casual way Fleck had said that was comforting or unsettling. It wasn't something he dwelled on.

"Do you want me to die again?" He said in the same casual, whining tone he had a moment ago, slouching lower into the chair. His eyes turned to watch Duke and Jack play as well.

Dick had half the mind to break them up a little as Jack became feisty, like some sort of overbearing, helicopter parent. He stayed, trusting Fleck's judgment and Duke himself.

"Not being waited on hand and foot won't kill you." Fleck leaned back, his back pressing a little more against his boyfriend's legs.

Duke chuffed and shook his head, making Jack slip and drop to the ground. His big jaw wrapped around the kitten's pudgy middle.

Jack's growls became high pitched and she swiped and bit at the dog harder.

"You don't know that." He nudged Fleck's shoulder with his knee. "Do you really want to risk- hey!"

Dick sat up, a swell of nerves coursed through him as he watched, the two gaining his full attention. He was teetering on the edge of coming between them to pry Jack out of between Duke's jaw.

"It's a pretty safe bet."

Dick wasn't going to die if Fleck didn't get him his fourth iced coffee of the afternoon. His body would probably thank him, actually.

Fleck threw a grin over at his boyfriend, but turned his gaze back to the two animals when Dick yelled at them.

"He's not gonna hurt her," Fleck assured.

Dick didn't leap between them, but he didn't relax either. His thoughts turned, a little guiltily, to the ragged old scar on Fleck's skin.

He pulled on his lip.

"Maybe we should separate them, just in case. She is still small."

He nudged at Fleck back, intent on following through with his words.

"She's fine," he insisted, not moving an inch himself even when Dick nudged his back again.

"I'm more worried about him. She's feisty."

Of the two of them, Duke was most likely to get hurt.

In the garden, Jack's growling got louder.

Dick pursed his lips.

The few scratches on his arm meant he knew Jack was very capable of wrecking havoc, especially when she was in a particularly playful mood.

"True, but she can't fit Duke in her mouth."

Hearing the high pitch growl he stood up.

"I'm going to separate them," he said, shuffling out from between the chair and Fleck.

"She'll be fine," he insisted. He wrapped an arm around Dick's legs to keep him still.

He pitched a whistle. "Duke, bring her here," he called.

The big dog lumbered to his feet, Jack still between his teeth, and padded over towards them. Jack wriggled and growled but wasn't going anywhere.

Dick eyed the dog as he padded over, uncertain, but he remained where he was with Fleck's arm around his legs. He once again refrained from leaping forward and prying the wiggling kitten.

He patted his thigh with his free hand and the dog dropped down, resting his large head against a muscular thigh, letting his jaw go lax.

Jack wriggled from his jaws and scaled Fleck's chest with no worry over the little hisses Fleck gave as her claws sunk into his flesh. Not stopping at Fleck's shoulder, she began to climb Dick's clothing, too.

Dick dropped to his knees as Jack was released, relieved, only mildly concerned over the little hisses Fleck gave. With Solla and Jack, he was used to them.

He put his hand on Duke's head to pet his velvet-soft ear in a silent apology.

His face pinched into a wince and he hissed as Jack's claw sunk over a particular part of his chest.

"That's not how I would like to be pierced," he said between clenched teeth, pressing a hand over where she nicked him as he felt her weight settle on his shoulder.

"Her claws are evil, huh?"

Jack curled up against Dick's neck, clinging to him for dear life, and purring loudly.

"See? All good."

Fleck was about to say more, but Chai burst out of the back door, wearing a tiny black French maid outfit, and her long hair back-combed into oblivion. She carried a tiny black thong in her hand and pinged it at Fleck.

"Come on! You two really need to get ready. Ciro and Willow are gonna be here to pick us all up in an hour and we need to be ready!"

"You're a terror," he said with affection before turning to give her a quick kiss on the head.

Dick looked over at Chai and looked her over once; twice. He frowned.

"What are you wearing?"

She looked more like she was going to a late non-kid Halloween party than to the theatre.

She gave a little trill.

"My costume. Fleck! Get into costume and let me do your makeup. Be quick about it! Go!"

Fleck rolled his eyes good-naturedly and pushed himself up, giving Duke a hearty pet as he did. "Sir, yes sir!" He snapped to attention then ambled away, tucking his thong into the pocket of his jeans.

"Dick, your costume's in the bathroom. Go get it on!"

Dick watched his boyfriend walk away, eyeing the gold material curiously.

"I have an outfit sorted," he said, turning his gaze Chai, stubbornly staying where he was.

It was appropriate theatre wear; chinos, button-up shirt and smart shoes. He wasn't about to slap on a sultry maid outfit, let alone out in public.

Chai gave a deep sigh, hands resting on her hips.

"I won't be letting my brother look like a virgin at this show, Dick. Go get changed. Go!"

She stomped a ridiculously high heel against the concrete slab she was standing on and pointed firmly back towards the house, where his costume was waiting for him in the upstairs bathroom.

Dick flushed, confused and a little insulted. Letting go of his virgin status was something he was, silently, proud about.

He crossed his own arms as she stomped her feet. He looked at her in consideration.

"What will I get out of it?"

"I won't tease you at all tonight."

That was the best she could give. There was so much she could say to tease him tonight. She'd keep her mouth if he donned the outfit that she'd decided for him.

Dick's expression turned wary. What exactly was there for her to make a point that she wasn't going to tease him? Though, it was a good offer. She had a knack for knowing exactly what flusters him up.

He hummed.

The idea of looking out of place - or "virgin" as she put it - also didn't seem appealing either.

"Deal. If you don't keep your promise, you owe me a drink each time."

Though he doubted she will keep up that up.

Chai grinned and skittered forwards to kiss his cheek.

"Don't forget the bowtie," she added as she darted back into the house.

"Fleck! You better be dressed!"

Excitement flittered through Chai as two shiny cars turned down the street.

"Come on, Dick!" she called back into the house. "They're here!"

Fleck stood beside his sister, smirking as he adjusted one of the straps to his stockings idly.

Dick spent the last half an hour adjusting and readjusting the glitzy shorts that were far too short and tight, wondering if he could see his dick outline or if he was just imagining it. He pulled down on the sides, short enough to almost expose his whole tattoo; shorter than he would ever dare to wear in public. They may as well be sparkly underwear.

He had a jacket that made him feel a little less exposed and a ridiculous glittery hat that he knows Fleck is going to loathe. The inch heels didn't bother him, liking the extra height and left him wondering when they will come back into fashion again.

When Chai called up, he put the stupid bowtie on with a huff before scratching the exposed skin self consciously.

With a grumble, he trudged down the stairs towards outside.

"You better keep up your side of the... promise." He tailed off, greeted with a sight he wasn't too sure what to make of.

Here he was worried about his dick outline when Fleck's underwear - no, lingerie - left little to the imagination. He turned his eyes up to the corset, then to Fleck's shaven face, as his eyebrows pinched further together as he tried to make heads or tails out of it. He blushed regardless, by the mere scandal of it.

"You all look so good!" Ciro jumped out of the passenger side of his car, bounding over to the three of them in nothing more than a pair of tight golden pants, golden boots and a blond wig. His impressively thick thighs and sculptured body were all on a show to see, gleaming. He was covered in a body shimmer.

He swooped in to press a kiss to all of their cheeks.

Nicola followed. Her outfit consisting of another expensive blond wig and a knee hitting pink dress.

Fleck's eyes ran slowly over Dick when he stepped out of the house. Dick looked so uncomfortable, and none too happy about being dressed up like that.

Not that he was too pleased himself. His face felt like it was caked on right now, with thick smoky purple eye makeup and deep red glossy lips.

"Oh, I promise, Dickie."

Chai perked up when Ciro bounded up to them, pulling him down to kiss her deep red lips, not letting him go until she was satisfied. "Your ass looks good, too Ciro. M-hmm did he look good wearing just those tiny shorts.

Mads and Willow both got out of the second car and joined the group.

Willow was dressed up in red and black corsetted lingerie, a thick feather boa settled around her shoulders.

Mads was decked out in perhaps the most normal outfit of the lot, in jeans and a vest covered in a sleeveless battle jacket. The only thing that negated his almost normal look was the bloodied gash across his forehead.

Ciro grinned, lips tinted red, as he turned to playful smack his own ass. He was rather proud of it. It was nothing particularly large, but it was round and toned.

"Glad you can appreciate fine art."

"I don't think there is an art gallery big enough for you and your ego," Nicola said with a roll of her eyes and a smile on her lips as she patted his back.
